Good God what did I just witness ??? I was born in 66 but I only knew PC's "radio hits" ... Right now at 2am is the first time I'm hearing this and I'm having a heck of a time keeping my jaw up off the floor. Daym.
I never heard this song until last Sunday night. I saw Pablo Cruise live and my jaw dropped too. I guess because they never played this on the radio. I liked their music but always thought they were a good 'pop' band. My whole opinion has changed. Awesome musicians.
Think this was the first song I heard by them. It was played on a progressive rock station in AZ, the only place I ever heard it. Only once in a while for a couple years then... nothing. Was disappointed they went commercial. Looking back now, I especially liked the piano runs. Thought it jammed at the time though. Hadn't heard it since about 1979. Happened to see them on TV tonight as they regrouped after 20 years and thought of looking this up. They didn't do this though. They did one of their pop hits, "Love Will Find a Way."
My second favorite Pablo Cruise song! What a shame these posts have so few views. This and "Ocean Breeze" deserve much more attention. People don't know what they're missing!
Both tunes ... their many loyal listeners genuinely appreciate and know PC are outstanding. They deserve, and will always have that. It matters not who or how many don't recognize it.
So happy grew up in the 70's, got to experience amazing music, true journalism, protests, and freedom of speech. Most important, musics had balls (we still got a few ones left).
Saw these guys for the first time in about 77-78 at the Spokane Opera House. This band and The Little River Band (Seattle 84) are the two best live acts I've seen in my life and I've seen them all.
Man, I have spent the last like 3 hours watching your vids of these guys and I am simply floored.....these guys just kill it every single time and what's more, are having a blast doing it which is just as much fun to watch as it is to hear. Superior vocals and musicianship, funky as hell, tight as Dick's hatband, hard to beat, thanks for posting
David Jenkins- Vocals,Guitars. Cory Lerios, Vocals Keyboards., Larry Antonino. Vocals Bass Guitar. Steve Price. Drums "Pablo Cruise" One of the most talented bands in music history....if not Number One. I saw them open for "The Doobie Brothers" and closed the show with both bands together do "Love Will Find A Way" and "Old Black Water" long versions of both...... AWESOME doesn't say how great that show was.
Thank you so much for this footage! The talent of these guys! Great memories of putting the record player needle back on the album and replaying this song over - lost in the music. Thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing this amazing music. Ocean Breeze all their songs were the best and looks like they still are!!!!!! I had to leave all my music behind and now seeing this.... Thankyou so much!!!!!!
Never had the pleasure of listening to this one. They show their musical talents that I didn't know they had. Very well arranged, great live song. Underrated musicians.
This was the first song I danced with the man that would become my partner for the next 38 years. He passed away a year ago in February. Today would have been our 39th wedding anniversary. I always found this instrumental to be so sensual and at crescendo damn well erotic. Love you, Michael!!
I go from zero to sixty in five on the highway when I'm listening to amazing music like this!!! I saw them in 1981 and they're still every bit as great!!!
+82sweetheart I was in high school in 1975, it was a warm spring day. My best friend told me" Pablo Cruise and Jefferson Starship were playing a free concert in Golden Gate Park that day, do you want to go?" I said hell yes, we cut school and went to San Francisco! It was great! :-)
Yes. Not a good tune to play in the car late night on the interstate, makes you just want to wind it up as fast as it will go. Police don't understand for some reason. (Of course, that unnecessary bass solo in the middle of this performance would cause the car to stall out.)
Ho-Ly-WOW! What an incredible performance! This song takes you on a most incredible journey. I just discovered this song after zeroing in on PC hits....wasn't aware of this gem. I'm floored! These guys are a gift.
❤I just love Pablo Cruise I’ve been listening to them for years!! I love the music my girlfriend in Northern California introduced it to me back in the 90’s love 💕 Diane
Cory Leerios was always an underrated rock pianist, musician and arranger...Pablo Cruise helped to define that Southern California rock sound. Their music was also used in many televised Olympic games over the years.
early 70's I watched PC live as a warm up band .. with 4 bands to follow in a all day and into the early morning with 60,000 Very Stoned Well Behaved Crowd in a Houston Football Stadium ..who followed? .. ARS, then MTB .next Santana then Doobie Brothers .. finishing at 2am.. $6.50 Ticket and 2 cans of Soup to Feed the Hungry .. Priceless!
I love this song. I know some other songs performed by Pablo Cruise. However, I feel nothing. This song is special. There's no song like this. Does anyone feel like me?
Yes. Though the fast guitar stuff was fine back in the day, not a big fan of it now. That pianist, tho. Just wow! This was actually the first song I heard by Pablo Cruise.
Saw them New Years Eve 12/31/76 at De Anza College in Cupertino (I believe they were a late replacement for Elvin Bishop). The piano solo was so LOUD! My future wife attended as well, though we didn't know each other at the time. We met a year later, in Hawaii, while on a trip sponsored by De Anza.
There used to be an older version of a black & white video of this song played live, but its disappeared. Much better version in my opinion (no bass solo 😉). Probably have to do with some rights issue, but I would love to see it again...
takes me back in time!
A master piece

This song was a radio hit.
It's well known among the surfing community since it was the soundtrack of a surf movie.
Check out “Ocean Breeze”

Still one of the best jams EVER!
One of the greatest instrumental ballads of all time.
and one of the greatest surf songs
My second favorite Pablo Cruise song! What a shame these posts have so few views. This and "Ocean Breeze" deserve much more attention. People don't know what they're missing!
Oh I love them so much! One of my favorite groups. I wanna go see them in Ruidoso so bad! June 28th Spencer Theatre!👍🏻❤️❤️❤️
Both tunes ... their many loyal listeners genuinely appreciate and know PC are outstanding. They deserve, and will always have that. It matters not who or how many don't recognize it.
My favorite is Island Woman! With this right on her heels!
You guys have been my blessing since 1976 🙏🔥

Ditto on Pablo and LRB......Boz Scaggs has a really good live show, too.
Little River Band too , oh yes!
Damn!! Been diggin' these guys for more than 40 years! Awesome.
I concur...Pablo Cruise. What a great band. Who needs lyrics when the musicians are this good?

yes me too
Wow! That was awesome!!! 👍
Such great memories with their music.. cutting school, propping the speakers out the windows, and laying in the sun. 🌴🔆
One of my all time favorite instrumentals, from a special time in my life and special place!
Ocean breeze will be played at my funeral, zero to sixty was my life how I lived
Thank you so much for this footage! The talent of these guys! Great memories of putting the record player needle back on the album and replaying this song over - lost in the music. Thank you!
Omg that drummer is smoking, great bass solo. This is one rocking band.
Man, this is my favorite Pablo Cruise song! I bought this album years ago specifically for this song. Wow, this just takes me back to better times.
Thank you so much for sharing this amazing music. Ocean Breeze all their songs were the best and looks like they still are!!!!!! I had to leave all my music behind and now seeing this.... Thankyou so much!!!!!!
This ALWAYS sounds sooo good!
Never had the pleasure of listening to this one. They show their musical talents that I didn't know they had. Very well arranged, great live song. Underrated musicians.
I agree, never heard this song before. Excellent.
Never did care much for drum or bass solos that went on for more than a minute though.
@@winfieldyount4496 I'm of the sort that doesn't like too much base either. Sounds too much like Koolaid and the gang
@@winfieldyount4496 ....and those other guys that pounded too much base was KC and that sunShine BaNd.

I'm sure it was ~ I would have loved seeing Jefferson Starship in concert! R.I.P. Paul Kantner.

Another great contribution from Pablo Cruise is El Verano

One of the best live show I've seen with Doobie Brothers in 1974 at the Cow Palace in SF

This music takes me back in time.

One word... EPIC!
Love it when the pianoplayer turns to the drummer and says "NICE"
always been one of my favorite tunes :)

LOVE IT! Similar in some ways to The Rippingtons.
Might be the best base solo I've ever heard, with five strings
「モーニングサラダ」のオープニングテーマであり、「アニマルハマグチェ」の入場テーマでもある。
Cory Lerios best rock pianist all time!
I can picture a downhill skier just doing it with this tune as the "backdrop"....

Wow!
First heard this in my twenties at Denver's Laserium. Wondered who this Cruise guy was, but didn't have an internet
That piano should sue Cory Lerios for the serious beating it took. Holy cow!
…..incredible……..
Hi. Are you going to be in Saratoga in two weeks concert? Mark.

Always think of the old 1976 Porsche 911 Turbo when I hear this song……
