OK I have been doing regular SolidWorks drawings for nearly 3 years. I just watched 56 minutes of this man drawing a very well done mouse. After 3 minutes I was totally lost. It was as though he was using a totally different program. Not sure I will ever get this surface concept down in any manner which makes sense.
Thank you for your good intentions and very clear instructions. Please review your work and notice that you are overly complicating this task. First, by the (extreme) overuse of fully defined splines which can be achieved by making boundaries using Projected Curves instead and also efficient using Add Loft Section to a surface. Within your method, you could copy existing sketches and redefine these instead of doing everything from scratch again. You can create a single top surface and project your curves to create cuts and split curves rather than managing so many individual surfaces that you later have to knit... All of which will save much time, reduce complexity and unlock more power from the available tools. Good work overall in showing explicit controls on the splines.
first off all this is my tutorial and these guys have just copied my work second, every single surface in this tutorial has to be built in this way in order to achieve precise look, if you want to only model a mouse without achieving great and price look like on the original product you can do whatever you like but the way I did is right
@30.00 it would be helpful to hear why those settings under Boundary Surface are being selected and how they impact the results. At the moment, these seems like a very long way around to making this mouse.
When my mouse is almost done. I have trimmed main sketch instead of converted entity and after doing couple of Undoing and redoing I got meshed up and now I'm on the starting phase of mouse 😅 but TUTORIAL IS GREAT I MUST SAY ♥️
Thanks for the video! It has been helpful as I am learning the advanced surfacing tools. FYI, the sketch relations "Coincident" and "Pierce" are different yet you used them interchangeably, and you often say to use one relation while using the other.
Hi, I am new in surfacing what happens if we don't do the extrude in 6:15? what is the difference if we click the bottom and the upper part then use the line as a guide rail? thanks
If graphic card not supported, just add it in Registry Key. Type REGEDIT in Search Program and Files box LOCATE UR GRAPHIC CARD NAME AND MODEL 1. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Solidworks\SOLIDWORKS2016\Performance\Graphics\Hardware\Current - on the right pane double click RENDERER (copy the video card's name} sample : AMD Radeon HD 8470D Adding Graphic Card to Gl2Shaders 2. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Solidworks\SOLIDWORKS2016\Performance\Graphics\Hardware\Gl2Shaders\ (locate your graphics card in the list if available or add it under OTHER folder Right click Other+New+Key and rename the folder of the name of your Vcard Right Click your Vcard Folder name+New+DWORD 32bit value and enter this value 40008 or 40408 or 30408 or 60408 or 60008 (for me 60008 is working) 3. Restart solidworks app (if not work, repeat process and change the value. Also try to put it in the correct Graphic card folder (for me I put it under R420 folder because it's a RADEON VCARD
Thanks for this very interesting tutorial. Do you thing this piece can be done without surfacing tools? I mean, with these complex curves, could I do this mouse as a solid or it would be too difficult?
Please explain what is meant by 105. Time 1.28 Clear explanation is much appreciated because I am unable to move beyond this point. It is said that it is handle length of the spline. What bearing it has with a defining of a spline.
I get error when thickening the knitted surface at the top of the mouse. I drew all of it twice from the beginning but got the same error. I think the problem is about the surface at the corner but I coulnd't find a way to fix it. It allows me to thicken 0.10mm but not 0.50mm as you did in the video. I would really appreciate your help for me to understand the problem. And thanks a lot for the video.
Sir could you tell me, how you are giving exact specific dimensions like exact angles, lengths etc. I mean how to consider what extent of dimension is most suitable..
He's making them up. I don't know why he's obsessed with using fractions of a millimeter though, it just makes it harder to follow. And I find it very easy to break the model using so many dimensions connected to the origio. Use relative dimensions instead makes it more dynamic.

the answer is - he copied my tutorial and the way I got the dimensions is by measuring the mouse I have and also following some base dimensions shown on the official Logitech website :)
Dear sir, Solidcam tutorial ke bare me kuch details digie Hindi version me ek alag si folder create karke; please sir, please sir, please sir. Details explain solidcam in hindi version create new folder. Please sir, Please sir, Please sir, please, please, please.
Amazing. I built it, editted it a little bit, 3D-printed it, added electronics from an old broken mouse, and now your design is functional. Well done!
That is amazing man!
Bhai which company r u working in
YES
I designed that mouse faster and better. I even put a sensor at the bottom.
Hello! I'm in Brazil and I drew the mouse here, it took me a while but it turned out good, it was a good lesson! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

Agreed. This was WAY too many steps. I see there is a theme of OVER-defining in these video tutorials as well.
first off all this is my tutorial and these guys have just copied my work

Awesome tutorial. I did get stuck at one point but did go through after a bit of brain storming. Keep it up you are doing a good job.
Thank you for your tutorials!!! You are a saint, I am learning so much.
welcome, please share our videos thanks,
Thanks for the video! It has been helpful as I am learning the advanced surfacing tools. FYI, the sketch relations "Coincident" and "Pierce" are different yet you used them interchangeably, and you often say to use one relation while using the other.
Very Brilliant CAD specialist. If only you could in detail explain your steps. It would make the tutorials far better
Thank you sir... Thank you very much... You don't know... But i have learnt a lot from your videos.... Thank you again
Hi, I am new in surfacing
what happens if we don't do the extrude in 6:15? what is the difference if we click the bottom and the upper part then use the line as a guide rail?
thanks
Now people can see why mice cost a lot of money! Hahaha! It's a lot of work to surface model a mouse! Great tutorial.
Extraordinary work!!
Can you clarify how the tangent length impacts the modelling? Down the line my doubt is how to deduce the tangent length for any particular modelling?
Sir hum kisi bhi assembly ko resize kar sakte he? Yani ki all dimensions change kar sakte he ?
thank you man
we need more tips and tricks about surfacing
thanxxx
Thanks.
Keep going ❤
Thank you sir. Awesome instructions
Excellent tutorial! Thank you!
Brilliant! thank you very much
where do you get these dimensions from or blueprints?
Searching for same here
Amazing lessons sir!! Thank you so much.
i dont understand when making boundary surface which edges to select for direction 1 and which for direction 2
jeeeeeeeeee wiz thats one goooooood vid, gud job maaaaaaaaan
Thank you again! I think you could do a intersection curve At 7:20
Hi thanks , how do you get the reflection hdri o surface in sketching mode ? .. thanks for great tutorial
Thanks, you need professional graphics card in your system like Nvidia Quadro series or AMD firpro Series. other cards will not support real views.
If graphic card not supported, just add it in Registry Key.
Type REGEDIT in Search Program and Files box
LOCATE UR GRAPHIC CARD NAME AND MODEL
1. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Solidworks\SOLIDWORKS2016\Performance\Graphics\Hardware\Current - on the right pane double click RENDERER (copy the video card's name} sample : AMD Radeon HD 8470D
Adding Graphic Card to Gl2Shaders
2. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Solidworks\SOLIDWORKS2016\Performance\Graphics\Hardware\Gl2Shaders\ (locate your graphics card in the list if available or add it under OTHER folder
Right click Other+New+Key and rename the folder of the name of your Vcard
Right Click your Vcard Folder name+New+DWORD 32bit value and enter this value 40008 or 40408 or 30408 or 60408 or 60008 (for me 60008 is working)
3. Restart solidworks app (if not work, repeat process and change the value.
Also try to put it in the correct Graphic card folder (for me I put it under R420 folder because it's a RADEON VCARD
Thank you for your tuts, i'm learning so much.
Thanks for this very interesting tutorial. Do you thing this piece can
be done without surfacing tools? I mean, with these complex curves,
could I do this mouse as a solid or it would be too difficult?
if you will go for solid modelling , difficult to create such type of curves, up & downs,
You are right, thanks! Keep doing such a good tutorias ;)
thanks Jose, it's actually a complete copy of tutorial I did. I am glad you like it! :)
nice?!?!?!?!?!
Please explain what is meant by 105. Time 1.28

สอบถามหน่อยครับ เราสามารถ ย้ายงานไปไว้ที่ แกน x0 y0 z0 ได้มั้ยครับ ถ้าเซฟจากไฟล์สเต็ปมาน่ะครับ
Are all these dimensions calculated or assumed
Thanks - very helpful tutoial
When i choose normal to profile (as mentioned in the video @36:22), it gives me an error? Any solutions ?

Hey, I am facing the same issue
Having the same issue here...
Yea facing the same issue here. Please do reply if anyone has found a solution. Thanks !
1:36 Dimensions of spline : 130, 105, 115. what is this? Plz clear it for me?
Very thank full to you sir ...U r simply awesome.. thanks for the tutorial.
This looks similar to DM Masterdesigners mouse. However. He added a sensor at the bottom of his design. Different approach in similar fashion.
is it possible to make an explosion?
sala.mandre we made many videos on Exploded view, check our channel.
Absolutely great job! Thank you very much! I learned a lot fron this interesting tutorial.
Helloo, do u have the design for separate parts for assembly ? And do u have any ideas to design the jig or fixture for your mouse? Thanks
this is created with the help of surfacing tools in Solidworks & its a single par only.
Sir could you tell me, how you are giving exact specific dimensions like exact angles, lengths etc.
I mean how to consider what extent of dimension is most suitable..
Cmm bro . A machine for accurate measurement
Thank you! This was very educating
Simply Awesome!
excelent job! thanks and congratulations!
Thanks,
Is there a easier way to start ? ( not with spline) thank you
Congratulations!
I would like to work as a freelancer ..... at home .... is it possible?
try with freelancing websites & fiverr, even you can sell your 3D models in turbosquid.com
Every time I try to tangent the 2 splines I get a Over Defined error :c
How did you fix the error at 12:05?
I have that as well did you manage to sort it ?
Thank you very much! However, for some reason my trim surface is always greyed out. What should I do?
Ensure you have converted the sketch entities, maybe that’ll help
I can't able to make vertical in the beginning of spline
I have a challenge for you... can you model the mouse logitech anywhere 2s? Please, make a tutorial.
Great work sir, thank you
Hi how did you get that shiny look at component level?
RealView graphics - search how to enable realview graphics in Solidworks
thank you very much for your lesson
can someone tell me why does he keep the extra boundary surface hiding and does not delete these at last?
Sir, where do you get those dimensions? Btw the video is amazing
He's making them up. I don't know why he's obsessed with using fractions of a millimeter though, it just makes it harder to follow. And I find it very easy to break the model using so many dimensions connected to the origio. Use relative dimensions instead makes it more dynamic.
thnx bb
thanks Sir,
but please how can i get some shiny image by modeling like yours??
25:21 I can'i choose the midle edge in the direction 2. Oh my God.
What mouse was this tutorial based off of?
based on your name my guess is that you're also on that LC DCG cram
Hello friend, where do I find the channel's CAM videos?
Click on the channel thumbnail and it’ll take to the home page page of the channel. You can all their playlists and videos there, including videos on CAM
Is this a logitech m235
I am getting an unwanted, irregular hole, when I try to thicken surface can u help me
Can you make a sandals...!!!

thankyou
sure i will do more surfacing tutorials.
Some error is coming(31:40) while selecting direction 2,pls help
Same error did u found 😅
It was 5 year ago for u I know but still if u remember anything?
Awesome. Very nice :)
Thanks.
Why is your solid body so clear??
how do i clear the error for selecting the guide curve ???
Showing error at 27:31 need help please.
Sir pls provide drawings of these project.
Thanks for the tutorial
welcome, i hope enjoyed,
thanks Dan, if you check out my channel you will see this is a complete copy of tutorial that I did. you're welcome :)
What mouse is this
The question is how you got the dimensions ?
the answer is - he copied my tutorial and the way I got the dimensions is by measuring the mouse I have and also following some base dimensions shown on the official Logitech website :)
Sir, I don't have those manouvreable arrows by the spline...Can you help me, please?
Tools - Options - System Options - Check "Enable spline tangency and curvature handles"
nice man
Thanks.
excellent.
Thanks,
thanks man, these guys copied my videos so wanted to let everyone know I am original creator :)
thank you very much
Great work thanks :)
Good
Thank you bro!
at 4.50 why can't I select anything to remove? pls help

Please, e-mail me back and explain to me what the numbers 105, 115 and 130 mean?
it is Logitech M185
In other words, it's Logitech information.... Thank you very much.
Get a book. Or watch dm masterdesigns. He designed this better and faster.
