Today, the Princess of Wales went to Southport with her husband, which is her first in-person engagement since she announced she had finished her chemotherapy. Yesterday, Princess Kate and her spouse paid a surprise visit to Southport where they met the families of the three young girls who lost their lives in the horrific stabbing that happened in July. Despite attending public events this year including Wimbledon and Troops the Colour, Kate, 42, is making her first community appearance since last December as she visits the town in grief in Merseyside. Kate had not planned to accompany Prince William to Southport on Thursday, but Kensington Palace made the announcement shortly before he arrived that she had made up her mind to do so.
