Loved this! So many gems were shared. I would agree that time management and study skills are the most important. Also, as a freshman be ready to challenge your study skills (or lack of). What might have gotten you by in high school...may not in college. Be prepared to pivot immediately if you find the way you are doing things isn't working.
omg, i needed this so badly, im so scared, Spelman is my DREAM COLLEGE! I have good grades, and just got into national honors society my senior year, meaning that I would start doing more and more community service, but I already submitted my application 🥹 do you know how I can submit those community service programs as an addition to my application? 🥺
EMAIL! EMAIL! EMAIL!!! Pls don’t be afraid to email the admissions office so they could add those said things to your application. If that’s taking too long pls call the admissions office. Good luck! Wishing you nothing but the best!
Im a sophomore in highschool and l really wanna go to join the sisterhood when lm older. I loved the video and getting a perspective from all the girls🤍!
I have so much questions. Like do some HBCUs don’t mind when you take a gap- year? Do you think someone will get accepted with a low gpa, because I’m pretty sure mine is low because my last year of high school was not it? Was applying confusing?
1. They definitely don’t mind, pls do what’s best for you. 2. YESS! You definitely can, I got accepted into hbcus when my gpa was just 2.14! Just please if you can, pls apply through the common app so you could write an essay with the application! If you have low grades they will look at that!! (It’s just basically about yourself and your upbringing. Gives them an idea of who you are as a person to see if you could be a great fit to the school). The one essay you write will be sent to all the colleges so you don’t have to write a new one for all of the schools. But if you want to it’s ok to apply through their website. I only applied through the common app for some of the schools I really wanted to get into. 3. No, it definitely wasn’t confusing. Through the common app it may look intimidating and confusing but it’s not. If you’re applying through their website it’s easy as well. Most schools will ask you to send in your fee waiver and transcripts through your counselor! If you ever need help don’t mind to come back and I’ll help you! Or you if you want you could dm me on insta(@sha.mazz). Either way good luck, I wish you nothing but the best! (Most schools are test optional this year. So if you didn’t take the SAT or ACT it’s ok. But pls make sure you find out before applying)
I'm really sad, I wanna go to Spelman so bad I have a 3.4 gpa but I really wanna get in and this is my last year of high school. I'm in beta club which it like a leadership club all around the world. I'm graduating a year earlier
I’m not sure about the first question BUT it usually tells you what it offers on their website. So whether it’s a bsn or not. Just look up the nursing major for spelman
Hey I believe if you want to do the dual degree with spelman and Emory for their nursing program, you would do 3 years at spelman and 2 at Emory to get your BSN.
So grateful to share our story with the world and love for Spelman!! Love having yall as my Spelman sisters!🤍
