Let's look at all the musicians Steffen has scared away and why: - Christian Muenzner: Treated him the same way Muhammed Suicmez did. - Jeroen Paul Thesseling: The first time Jeroen didn't want to tour anymore, the second time Jeroen ostensibly got tired of Steffen's drama queen behavior. - Hannes Grossmann: Was a control freak to the point where Hannes had to release an entire solo album just to get his ideas for Obscura out there at all (The Radial Covenant is literally just "Fine, I'll make my own Obscura album with blackjack and hookers!"). - Fountainhead: Got mad at him for playing fretless guitar on rhythm guitar recordings, tried to discredit his contributions to the album, actively copyright strikes Tom's videos every time he tries to upload an Obscura playthrough from Akroasis - Linus Klausenitzer, Sebastian Lanser, and Rafael Trujillo: Rafael was once asked about Steffen on an Instagram Q&A and said something to the effect of "I'm not into bad vibes." - David Diepold: Ostensibly the same reason as Jeroen - ...and now Alex Weber: Stole his bassline for an incredibly sub-par song with the worst mix Studio Fredman has ever shat out.
Sebastian was also asked to rejoin after leaving for tours, glad he didn't. There's a lot of uncovered stuff but yeah, it's fair to say the common issue is Steffen's treatment of his bandmembers as well as not wanting to improve himself, forcing the band to make him look good instead of actually practicing new material. Wonder why some of the Diluvium songs were never played live? There's your answer
I met Steffen at a gig and he was rude and dismissive, acted like he didn't give a fuck about the fans. Also, if he stole the music for Evenfall it really wasn't worth it. The song is bland as hell and not remotely up to the standard of what Obscura were doing on Diluvium, for instance.
Steffen, you've lost Muenzner, Fountainhead, Trujilio, Lanser, Grossmann, Diepold, and how can we forget Thesseling. You have turned Obscura into the Steffen project. Fountainhead can't even have his Obscura playthroughs on UA-cam without you copystriking them into oblivion. And now there's sections from other bands being stolen too. Amazing stuff RIP Obscura, how the mighty have fallen

The bass riffs were written by Alex Weber and used without his permission. Stealing riffs from past members is so ridiculous, especially when you have perfectly capable musicians working with you. Steffen strikes again I guess. Never giving another penny to this band.
Tranquilo es un riff que quedará en el olvido, nada relevante, y como tú dices la banda tiene más que ofrecer que ese plagio, en mi opinión la canción es aburrida y seguramente quedará en el olvido. Nunca será un himno

Steffen thinks he is Obscura, but Obscura is other great musicians that left the band, and many more will leave again. How could you lose Hannes Grossmann that composed SO MUCH for Cosmogenesisn and Omnivium? How could you lose guitar virtuoso Christian Münzner that is so obsessed with incredible solos and complex riffs? How could you lose Paul Thesseling - a masterful bass player with truly unique style and mesmerizing sound? And that wasn't enough! Steffen betrayed amazing guitarist and composer Tom Geldschläger that made so much for "Akroasis". And Steffen even managed to loose the absolutely incredible trio of musicians: Rafael Trujillo, Sebastian Lanser and Linus Klausenitzer - these guys are the reason that "Diluvium" is a pure masterpiece. What the hell? I'm sick of Steffen so much.
This is the kind of comment I was hoping to start seeing. This is not the single that kills this band for me. What killed the favourite band of my late teens/early 20's that Obscura undeniably was, is when I learnt that they hired an absolute genius of a guitarist only to let him contribute a huge portion of creative work on Akroasis and let him go without paying a dime or crediting him and letting the world know how amazing of a musician he is. Every single person involved in the project has more talent in the dirt under their fingernails than I can ever hope to have, and seeing them get screwed this badly is a nightmare fuel.
Alex Weber just came out with proof Steffen is using his ideas to create this song and this album was rushed! May be a reason why these two singles are different from the rest of the obscura discography
It's not the first time he's accused of doing that. Hope it will be the last time, but that won't make up for the damage. Let's hope people will give more attention and support to the actual amazing musicians that contributed to this band's success.
Steffen is a jerk. He was never Obscura. The musicians he played with, who came up with the albums and recorded them, they were Obscura. Steffen exploited the musicians, and whenever someone became inconvenient for him, he got rid of them. Gabe Seeber says "I'm still trying to get paid from the tour last March".... very sad!

They had a party in 2016 with Akroasis though. Even if Steffen didn't want to credit Tom Fountainhead. No Münzner, Grossmann, Fountainhead, Klausenitzer, and Trujillo - no Obscura.
Very nice from Steffen to use the intro bass riff Alex Weber (former bassist) wrote without crediting him or his permission. He and other band members who left were also told and got written confirmation that their riffs and parts they wrote will not be used on this album

The Bassline is sick and Robin does it justice, the sound is great. A shame, it was not Obscuras to use.
