thanks a lot for these timestamps. Certainly the best tasting beer in my view is the Marks & Spencer Czech beer. But in terms of best value for money it has to be steinhauser from aldi
I know it should be the taste that determines the ultimate outcome without label snobbery, I do bulk at paying a £1 a can for Asda, even if it is branded ‘premium’. One of my favourite sayings in a restaurant to the waiter is: - “Why would I choose a £xx bottle of wine to go with my meal when the best wine costs £2000 a bottle and you need to make sure you pick the correct year”. Whereas (before the watering down games currently being played) you can drink the best beers in the world for between four to seven pounds a pint, whether that be Bishops Finger, Abbot Ale, Scrumpy Jack, Old Speckled Hen, Hobgoblin, Pedigree Blue Label, Tanglefoot, Stella Artois, Hoegaarden, Erdinger, Leffe Brune, Blue Moon, it is guaranteed to be one of the best beers you can have.
@@kw2142 you need to chill yo, it’s not that deep! life is too short to get so triggered about a simple comment about drinking beer 😂 I hope the anger you hold, dissipates and you can maybe enjoy life a little
Drank steinhauser for about 8 years now, bought it on the off chance once and I’m still surprised how good it is. Used to be about £3 for 6. Always worth getting 12 bottles so you’re stocked up.
A truly epic undertaking. It's like watching a guy wearing flip-flops climb Mount Everest. You can't look away because you expect disaster at every turn, but somehow dude just keeps ascending. Very entertaining, man. This had to be a ton of work to put together. Well deserved like on this one.
3 hours collecting the beers from various supermarkets, started filming at 7pm, finished uploading at 1am this morning, then another 2 hours this morning adding all the various tags. as always though loved the whole process mate. Cheers for your support Simon
@@realaleguide It's a lot of work for one guy. I just did a quick check and the "Craft Beer In" series currently has 41,321 views over 4 episodes. If you search "Swansea Craft Beer" on UA-cam your video is the top result. It's evergreen content. This video will do well, and it will get views for years. Just need one of these videos to go viral and hit that 1M views. Cheers
This is simply tremendous Si, fantastic video! One of the best the channel has ever seen in my opinion and I’ve been there from the very beginning so I think my opinion should be valued…. I think. 😎 happy drinking Si! 🍺
Another great video mate. My local aldi has stopped selling steinhaüser. I'm absolutely gutted. Gotta go to asda now for the dresdner. Decent substitute but not steinhaüser😢
_I hope to have this video wrapped up between 35 - 40 minutes_ 🤣 Shame Lidl seem to have deleted the Czech green bottle pilsner since it got recalled because that was actually a bloody good drop. Cheers Si
After trying most of the supermarket lagers over the last few months I'd have to agree here. My favourite is the lidl argus bottles, second favourite is perlenbacher. Can't argue with the argus for about £0.70 a pint
The white can you used to drink from Lidl was Excelsior aswel, the can has changed numerous times over the years and the abv has too but only from 3.9% to the 4% it is today. Surprised to didn't like the galereux I really enjoy that one.
this was great fun! very entertaining. you should do one of these for each season! and if you want to go mad, definitely do this for oktoberfest brews lol
Argos(lidl's) is the product of Van Pur, a polish brewery, you can find their beer under their name too, they brew for other supermarkets too, like Penny Market.
Been buying steinhauser this last week and agree it’s great !£5.30 for 6, makes it £4 cheaper for 24 bottles than Costco for 24 peroni on offer. And it’s nice !
Fascinating stuff. We use Lidl when we’re in Spain, some 4.9% beer there, is 24p a can. There’s a 7.5% stout (500ml) for under a quid. I’ve started doing the budget tour here. Thanks for doing this video.
Apparently it's made by DAB Dortmund Brewery.... a really excellent German Dortmunder style beer. Traditionally a coal-miners beer... a simple and refreshing beer, perhaps designed to be necked rather than sipped. Very refreshing, nice and yeasty and easy to drink, not as dry as some lagers perhaps..
Hey! I bought an 8 pack of San Martinez from Lidl!. Really impressed with it!. Gonna try the San Marco from Aldi next and then the Victoria Malaga from Morrisons! Thanks for the reviews!. 👍👍👍
A great video. I saw you reviewed Efes Pilsner about nine years ago on holiday. It's my favourite drink. Do you reckon you'll do another review of it as you can now get it in England through various supermarkets (imported by TEES)?
Great vid simon, i actually grabbed 8 brasserie 1897 after work yesterday and had them last night, not a bad beer at all i will definitely have them again
"Straw coloured aroma" about 20 minutes in. Quality! The Asda Pilsner at 5% is my go-to cheapo beer. £3.34 for 4 cans in my local store and I think its proper decent. Other people must agree, it flies off the shelf! Don't agree on the Asda Biere deluxe however!
Great content Simon. Listen if I had some of those supermarkets around I would be taking notes like a new kid in college!... Oh and about a person not been able to slam that much beer there was one who went by the name Andre the Giant. Yep Im sure you all knew him. 100+ cans of beers it is said.
Aldi's Galahad 79 lager testes amazing and it's only one euro for a can. It's different from their regular Galahad lager. It's about 2.7% apv by is very smooth and with a lot of aroma
Amazed you haven’t peed yet, put the beer in to a plastic container and use it to get rid of the snails in your garden.Leave out the green bottle ones do’nt want skunky snails.😁
It's an old video on the day I'm commenting but omg I remember being there, I've worked 6 days, and then gone shopping with the wife and kids the foods in the trolley and there aint a lot left in the kitty, some weeks nothing at all, 4 cans have been a treat and I've shared with the wife. she only ever had one . Would I change things? Part of me screams YES, but I think I appreciate what I now have way more because of that experience, a vidoe like this would have saved me drinking a lot of very bad beer back in the day, Top Marks Sir 👍🍺🍻👍
Started drinking Biere de luxe from asda because of your review - it’s great value for money for a session lager, I’ve really got a taste for it now. Start with a Stella or staropramen unfiltered or 2 then onto biere de luxe - happy man 😊 cheers
Very entertaining Simon a great watch this lager battle. Argus has been my go to "cooking beer" for many a year now. Never tried a steinhauser though 👍🍺
One slight criticism though is the amount of beer that has been poured down the sink! I know it would be impossible for most to review 30 beers and drink the whole thing in a row!!!!!
I would like to see you redo this as some of these beers really seem to be inconsistent and change between batches. I'd really like to see you compare against what your opinions were in this verses another time/batch

If you're needing a few cheap ones at a BBQ I'd go with the Argus - it tastes ok 35p a bottle and as long as you get it nice and cold after a few your guests will have no idea that it cost a pittance

agree on bier de luxe, being a piss artist and a skinflint, I've tested loads of cheap beers and it's my favourite

yes, very entertaining indeed. I love the way that 'pass' varied in its meaning throughout! A magic video from the master!
You put your body through it there Simon for science. Great video as ever.
Just started following you and absolutely brilliant !!! Keep up the good work 👏
Love my hoppy lagers. I typically use 34/70. I make a Two Hearted inspired beer with 34/70 and it comes out fantastic.
Superb video Simon! I laughed my head off when u said “this is a Belgian beer from belguim “ you are a machine my boy well done 👍🏻

I think I’m going to watch this again tonight with a few beers. What an effort again Si!
This was brilliant Simon, great video! Steinhauser is an amazing lager for the money, also have to agree about the bier deluxe

Wow, might need to watch this one on the big telly! Cracking effort
Exactly what I'm doing 😆
Wish we could get Steinhauser in Aldi in The Republic of Ireland, we have had a terrible selection of affordable beer lately
Hey! I bought an 8 pack of San Martinez from Lidl!. Really impressed with it!. Gonna try the San Marco from Aldi next and then the Victoria Malaga from Morrisons! Thanks for the reviews!. 👍👍👍
The morrisons export lager 4.8% is my favourite 👌🏻
Its taken me 3 days to get halfway through this review. Epic!
Well done Si, I bet you were in the dog house after that!! Great video.
I often watch the videos and wonder if his wife goes aff her heid as we say in Scotland.

Well done on getting to the end! By my calc, if you're having 100ml of each one, that's over five pints in an hour and twenty!
Great concept, superbly executed. Well done, Simon. 👍
What a fantastic entertaining useful video and great timing ahead of the scorchio weekend!
