This was really beautiful, terrible, honest, and so hard (BUT IMPORTANT) to hear. Thank you for sharing. I hope this takes off and people can see the historical violence and pain that lies behind family violence and aboriginal stereotypes.

at approx 28.26 minutes into Video it discusses Restorative processes undertaken with native persons which is viewed as a hard process involves a person having to open up. The person has to do a family tree and reviews the traumas within the family including family violence, alcoholism, divorce etc which shows why you are the way you are. It gets a person to look at how they have been since childhood and they have to sit with your victim and elders is a tough journey and is a healing programme. It is called the Warrior Programme. It is said to be successful and made a huge difference in their lives and in their families lives breaking free from generations of abuse. The justice system by using these process as absorbed some of the traditional ways which has lead to healing when used and reduced recidivism and increased well being in families and communities. This is extinguishing the fires of violence within indigenous homes. It comes from a place of their faith and beliefs and is culturally appropriate to them that resonates with them to lead to change for the better within their core values and traditions.

This video has a lot of interesting information, but structurally is a mess. I found it hard to follow and repetitive. This is an important lesson, but the presentation is lacking.
