At The Neuro, women scientists improve the lives of patients, helping us understand how the brain works and how to treat neurological disease.
We are launching Neuro XXceptional, a video series featuring women at The Neuro who tell us what drove them to become scientists, and what they love about their work.
The first video features Dr. Lesley Fellows, a neurologist and researcher who sees patients who have problems with complex behaviors such as memory, thinking, and decision-making. She’s passionate about her work because she gets to help people reintegrate into society and it enables her to develop creative new ways to understand the brain. “It’s important that we keep being as inclusive as we can,” she says about women in science and medicine.
“It’s important that the patients we care for see themselves reflected in their doctors, and it’s just as important that they’re reflected in the scientists who are studying those conditions.”
