  • This video shows you how to transfer routes or tracks to and from your RIDER using a memory card. These steps apply to the RIDER 40/42 and the RIDER 400/410/420/450.
You can export tracks from your RIDER to a memory card, in the a GPX file format. You can import GPX and ITN files to use on your Rider.

After I click on "Share Track" the device resets itself. And does this all the time. I´ve turned it off and on and the result is the same. Any thoughts?
The same way we sync routes with the device using the web app, we should be able to read saved tracks from it without using a memory card.

my solution for exporting tracks to a memory card: get a modern, fast memory card. i was trying to use class 4 and class 10 cards and they didn't work. when i tried using a new card (class A1), the share track onto my memory card completed quick and easy. i wish the error messages and documentation were more helpful!
i would like to get the bluetooth sharing to work successfully, because inserting and removing the memory card and rebooting is tedious.

Solution to "Internal Error .....blah blah" when trying to export tracks on Tomtom Rider 500 series:
I have found a way by the doing the following, which might work for you, but it takes a while.
Go into "my routes" on the tomtom menu
Tap on the route that wont export, it will probably show up correctly on your tomtom as a route, if it does then tap menu again
Then tap "current track", then tap "ride to track"
Once the track has loaded, tap menu again and tap "record"
Then tap menu again and "current track" and finally "play track preview".
Let the track play until the end which might take a few hours (might need to plug some power) then stop the recoding
Once stopped and saved you should be able to "share" the new track you just created
This worked for me hopefully it will for you.
It seems odd you can record a playing route but it works!

Pain in the arse. I make routes on my rider 410 and cannot bluetooth or send to card. It never sees my routes.

That doesn't tell me how I can export routes (not tracks) that I've created on my Rider 500 while out and about without wi-fi access.
On my old 2013 Rider I could simply connect it to my PC by USB and copy routes from it (or to it).
Despite some useful new features, the new device is a backwards step in so may ways from the old one when a little thought and development effort would have made it fantastic.

Im using TomTom, great device, for long time now. I have to admit it is a shame that only tracks (GPX) can be exported or shared via SD or Bluetooth, while routes (ITN) cannot.

what a load of bollocks. You're telling me the only way (that works) of sharing a route that you've recorded on your Rider is by using a memory card!!!!?
