- Hamish Bond and Eric Murray have been dominating the men's pair M2- ever since the Olympic Games in London 2012, not mentioning the victories they acheived before their first Olympic title.
Now, with the Olympic Games Regatta in Rio to start in a few hours time, we have finally released the long demanded video analysis of their rowing.
There is a lot more interesting to say about their rowing, so this is not more but also not less than a short overview. My intention is to bring up the way I see things, not to claim that it is "exactly the way I say", as I simply do not know it all.

definetely do an analysis on the german eight!!
Great analysis
Do an analysis on the South African four ! from the final in London 2012
Hi Aram, I'd be interested in hearing what your thoughts are with regards to the Aussie Mens 4 from the world champs 2017? Specifically how they are so relaxed around the finish, let the boat run out with the micro-pause at pace and then let it rise up as they come to the catch.
Puhhh... I have just had closer look at them. They row exceptionally well. I have seen a few things here and there, but I will have to study this crew in detail before I can say something about them that makes sense. I agree with you. This looks quite relaxed for the stroke rate they keep.
What do u say about hamish work with his hands? He is fethering with his outside hand and doesn't pull to his Body? I mean he doesn't have to do it, he's a machine but why? (He weighs like 85kg and pulls an 5:40 on the erg)
could you do a video on obreno vs drysdale at Henley regatta 2016? similar to this but for a single.
pls
okay, will try to make it after the Biorower launch (www.biorower.com)
Kate Brennan in her Rio woman single scull win seems to illustrate your story about building up this anchor/water bubble in front of the blade very well. She seems to take the time to build this up after the catch. I wonder if your are of the same opinion and if this could be a good race to review?
Thank you Daniel. Great input!
As a matter of fact, her rowing style seems to be free from over ambitious creation of dynamics.
I have put it on the list for possible reviews.
@Aram, what is more important for boat speed catch timing synchronized or release timing synchronized? Reason I ask, is the situation where you have two athletes with significantly different stroke lengths rowing in the same boat. Is the answer different for sweep & scull?
I prefer to sync release timing first. It sets the boat
Let s have a look at the swiss four!!
good idea.
woooww thank you very much
very welcome mortino
analyse the GB women's pair!
that's a great idea - I'll put it on our list
+Aram Training Great, love your videos by the way
They actually rate higher for longer they are just super fit
High rate does not equal high speed. There is a decent chance that the rest of the field is super fit likewise.
I wonder if actually they use shorter blades than most heavyweights. Would explain why they are caning the start but not getting the same peak speed as the field.
08.09 In the UK we call it bum shove
Your video is quite interesting but you can't say that their strokerate are lower
Okey they lived lower but their strokerate are highest than anyone else
Just look at the information
They are at 39 when everyboady are at 34
Yes Victor. I was merely referring to a particular moment of the race as I suppose. Good comment!
