Robin of Sherwood is one of the greatest tv series ever made. They couldn't make it today, this kind of craftsmanship is forever gone.
That’s completely false. But this kind of dark take on the concept of Robin Hood maybe yes.
i must admit the 2000's series and the movie with Rusell crowe werent too bad.

the best Robin Hood series ever. i watched it as a kid in the Netherlands and stil got the dvd box. these images are from the hounds of lucifer episode. "Morax, Solas, Orias, Albion, Elidor, Beleth, Flauros. On each of them, words of high magic unspoken since they were made. Wayland knew the danger. Oh yes, he knew. That's why he scattered them and for hundreds of years they remained apart. Two of them were buried. Others lost in battle and some so cunningly hidden that none had knowledge of them. The search took many years, many lives."
He tried to bring it back in 1992 and even as late as 2009 with the same cast as it ended, but it was too expensive to make. Such a shame

When Hounds of Lucifer come riding... From India used to watch this series when cable tv was new and was in school. . what cinematography.
I watched this series a little late, in the beginning of the 90´s (I was born and raised in Cuba). It marked my childhood. I`ll never forget; just magic.

Always loved Robin of Sherwood cira 1980s. Brilliant actors, fantastic background score from Clannad and sensational filming 🎥 👌 wonderful adaptation of the old legend
Bring me so much nice memories. Nothing's forgotten!. I still can't understand why Robin of sherwood has this much place in my heart. compared to now a days TV programs which has blood bathing swords fights and so many CGI tricks which makes them look so real!!. Maybe because when I watched this, I was a 100% happy kid no responsibilities on top of my head.

I just found the series available for streaming again...Gods I had forgotten how much I loved this show as a kid and now again. Such a wonderful adaption that actually showed what life was like in the early days of Norman rule of England. So amazing, I really wish they had been able to go on longer than they did.

Totally agree - a great vision of a classic tale, with massively more atmosphere than any version produced since. Sadly only three series, but they were all good - and at least the final episode gave a proper ending to the whole story.
Writing this in July 2022,, I can't believe that its Almost 40 years old.
