I already know the difference between "a quick one" and "take a look" 😂. Cheers! I'm still waiting for someone come up with something similar but with less bass.
Ordered just yesterday, about 16 hours before your review dropped and love seeing you cover this set as there aren’t enough reviews out there and I mostly bought blind on HBB’s reputation alone :)
@ I watch a lot of your videos, thanks for the tip on the tips 🙂 … funny thing is, I didn’t use the stock tips on the Estrella, either, because I saw reviews mentioning that other tips worked better for that set, so I’m using the Divinus Velvet wide bore silicone tips for Estrella…
I'd say the fit makes a difference also, kinda why I said deeper. Shallow fit sounded less low pinna. Took me a bit to find tips where it sounded right.
@@PaulWasabii Cheers that's good to know. Lately it seems best with every new set, first thing is to go through my tip collection in order to find that right "marriage" to maximize synergy with said IEM
Thanks Paul, for the excellent review. I'd be inclined to get this set in the closer to $120 range, but very interesting set for sure. Sets that can be enjoyed for hours without fatigue are the best. 👌 BTWz I subbed the flipped KZ Starline for the extra large Dunu S+S tips when there's fit issues. Very similar...
i loved these... they sound like a truly subwoofer in your ears. These are sooooo much better than Fatfreq Maestro Mini, a real upgrade even though it's like half the price. Unfortunately, I had to return mine cause they started to show some cracking/noise on the right side. Maybe Ziigaat QC isn't the best?
Possible, but hope they were able to handle your return without much of a hassle. This time of year is tough, everyone is too busy and customer service slips in the mad dash of holiday sales.
That is the tricky bit, I don't think he is a loud listener but prefers the treble to have volume headroom. The ability to listen at slightly higher volume without added fatigue is the thing.
@PaulWasabii yes, because the only way to really appreciate bass is to play it with a good bit of volume. But with the usual tuning, you bring the volume up, everything also goes up, including the treble. I believe this is similar to what HBB did with the Hades. I think it was Jay(of Jay's Audio) who was the first reviewer(who reviewed the Hades) that was able to notice it, that it gets better as you turn up the volume; and he appreciates it too.
Just looking at their graph, too much ear gain and then it drops off quickly. Probably nice on vocals but the rest is iffy. I wouldn't pay $116 for it.
Again, both are very nice sets, but not the same tuning. Hype 2 is closer to lots of other sets, nice balanced U-shape. Arcadia has a lowered upper range so the balance is different.
@PaulWasabii seems to be a similar bass profile and overall tilt, but with the pinna pulled down as per Chris' preferences. So really good release imho, since, as you said, a relatively unique approach to the JM-1 target. They priced it quite well, too! Now i'm just waiting for this to come down to the $100 range. Fingers crossed the Hexa 2 delivers this 😅
ZiiGaat really be pumping : +1 driver, -1 driver, slightly different graphs of the same IEM. What a marketing tactic. Unfortunately, i just got my Estrellas and couldn't listen to them for more than 30 min because of awful driver flex in the left earphone. Contacted Linsoul and they told me to...swap the cable and record the issue? Man, i wish they had ANY QC as after a quick googling, many seem to have driver flex with Ziigaat stuff. First time having driver flex and it is on the most expensive iem i've bought so far, what a luck.
I believe Jay uses the Tangzu tang sancai tips which attempt to mitigate flex. I have used foam tips. If you can tip roll into less flex, that is easier than trying to return a set to Linsoul or any other store. That was literally much of the motivation on Letsuoer's S15 relief valve, avoid driver flex returns they experienced on S12.
@@PaulWasabii Good to know. Interestingly, it only happens on the left ear piece and it is especially bad : inserting, ajudsting, moving my jaw/head, tapping - everything triggers crinkly/popping sound as if the "driver splits in two" for the lack of better term. Right one has absolutely no issues. I tried : Velvets, Dunu SS, Render, Whizzer, bunch of stock tips, nothing mitigates it except going too small of a tip and in that case i lose all seal and it just falls of my ear.
Pretty much what you see on the graph, Arcadia is treble tilted down. That does two things, lowers the energetic treble, but also more bass presence. I'd guess Odyssey would be closer to Hype 2
I agree and there is some hope this tilted Meta tuning will take off and you will see that happen at lower price points. Ziigaat is tough as they are playing the branded driver game which is going to be harder at sub $100 but other brands might give it a try.

I'm still waiting for someone come up with something similar but with less bass.
Yep, I'd be ok with less bass and these drivers.

Yeah its a cool set. My advice is to play with tips if it sounds weird. The stock tips didn't work for me, but it should sound like an HBB set.

Cheers for this Paul 👍🏻
As a low pinna fan/Loud volume listener, Arcadia is likely my next set

Another IEM that doesn't mess up the treble when you turn up the volume is the Aful Explorer, one of my favorites.
Yep, haven't heard Explorer but same idea. People look for these sets for that reason.
Thanks Paul, for the excellent review.

I think S&S still have the straight sides, flipped kz at least with large have some more width. But yeah, didn't think about that, they look similar.
For me only the X-large S&S work similarly wide to the flipped starline.
Hopefully you'll review the Odyssey soon as well 🙏
I wish, not sure that is going to happen. I think that is closer to other sets so was glad to get this one actually.

i think that's one of the signatures of an HBB tuned set, it's meant to be played loud.
That is the tricky bit, I don't think he is a loud listener but prefers the treble to have volume headroom. The ability to listen at slightly higher volume without added fatigue is the thing.

Can you please do a review of the Yu9 Audio Yan? Some are saying it's the new best deal around 100$, but there's only one review here on yt.
Just looking at their graph, too much ear gain and then it drops off quickly. Probably nice on vocals but the rest is iffy. I wouldn't pay $116 for it.
@PaulWasabii I see, thank you
I heard it's like the Aful Explorer, graph looks similar at least.
Iirc, most reviewer compare the explorer more to Odyssey
From the descriptions, I would think that also. The other comment says odyssey. Maybe its between the two.
Hello Paul great video, how's it compared to Hype 2?
Again, both are very nice sets, but not the same tuning. Hype 2 is closer to lots of other sets, nice balanced U-shape. Arcadia has a lowered upper range so the balance is different.
@PaulWasabii alright thank you for the answer
Essentially JM-1 but tilted even further clockwise. Tempted as this is the same price as the KE-4. Looking forward to your Odyssey review.
Yep, I am not exactly sure how well it aligns as my graph is funky. I like everyone else's graph more than mine. But the idea is right on.

Just purchased on the basis of this review 🎉
I'd guess you also agree with most of HBB's reviews too.
😮

Anyone know where to get a 10 ohm adapter outside of dropping $50~ in the Truthear red? Can't seem to find any in Ali or amazon
No, I think I have an 18ohm which is what I usually grab.
Paul, how is the 7Hz Elua? Also, tried letshouer e20 yet?
Just posted Elua. Nice set too, not the same as Arcadia. No E20 yet.
Paul, does it have a similar DD as the focus edm?
Not sure on that one. A question for HBB on his hifiguides thread maybe. Anyone else is just guessing.
Someone needs to make a round up and comparison of all the Ziigaat hybrids. Too similar on paper and close on price to make decision.
I agree, not many people have heard them all, maybe HBB or Jay.
@ probably only those two yeah. Waiting for it…
Finally Metas..
Yeah, kinda meta and I had that thought. I think its meta tweaked by ear.
vs hype2 ?

@@PaulWasabii do you have a favorite in the $200-$300 ziigaat brotherhood ? will you review hype4 soon ?
Looks like an overly bassy version of Butterfly 61T, at least by graph.
hmm, idk it looks pretty similar to me. You must be looking at the impedance adapter graph.😊
@Hijynx87 But the 61T is not usually described as a bass-head type set.
Not quite. I would also look at other graphs, mine is a bit whacky on treble, it should downslope more.
What is with all these over $200 cad bassy iems.
Where're the $100 cad bassy iems...
I agree and there is some hope this tilted Meta tuning will take off and you will see that happen at lower price points. Ziigaat is tough as they are playing the branded driver game which is going to be harder at sub $100 but other brands might give it a try.
So far, Saga bass is my fav. Yes. Even over Castor bass. Castor set 1,2 down 3,4 up is STILL too much bass for me.
Its all in the curve, the high point of Saga bass is way in the subbass where less music hits that low. Castor is elevated over a much wider range
Cool. Thanks for the response.
Bloated mess no thank you
Why did you click on the video? You saw the title no?
Doesn't look bloated at all....
The bass isn’t bloated at all. In fact, very much a neutral set with more bass.
As I said, if you prefer no midbass, super U shape, it isn't that. Doesn't make it a bloated mess though, just not your thing
