Did you ever get the joy tab to connect directly to the Roku? I have been fighting with that and mine will show that it's connecting but it never connects. It may be that the only possibility is to get the extra device.
Nope. Good question. And now you'll be lucky if you can find the screenbeam mini. The company stopped manufacturing them. No clue why. I had four of them and sold two of them on ebay last year. The first one got snatched up immediately, with buy it now. I auctioned the second, resulting in a bidding war, and it sold for three times what I paid for it originally. Fortunately for me, I still have two. If you decide to pick one up, apparently they still show up on eBay, but put an alert notification on it so you can pick it up as soon as it's listed. On an unrelated note, unless you have a device that still receives security updates, talking about the joy tab, it would be wise to replace it with something newer. The end of life in terms of security updates for the original Joy Tab was some time ago.
@@dopestar1975 appreciate the comment, the issue is that these tablets have a micro USB connector not a USB-C but more importantly it's not a data port it's for charging only. For example the USB-C port on my Samsung Galaxy phone is also a data port I could hook the connector you're talking about up and send video to my TV with a hard wire with an HDMI cable but with these joy tabs you can't do that.
@ Tony, on my Joy tablet I have a USB-C not a micro, but still, I can't get it to work hardwired. I think you're right when you say it is not a data port. So, how can I mirror or Cast the video and sound from my Joy to my smart TV?

@Marlene Merino, one other thing while I'm thinking about it. Since you have the USB-C connector then you likely have a newer device than I do. Mine definitely has a micro USB connector for the power. I got it about 18 months ago free through a promotional offer at Metro by T-Mobile. I'm pretty sure there's a Joy Tab 2 now, and there might be newer models of the Joy Tab I have, I don't know for sure though.
Tony, I'm very grateful for your help in this matter. BTW, my tablet is the Joy Tab 2, the one currently being promoted by metroby-tmobile. I'm going to acquire the ScreenBeam mini 2 you mention. If my TV receives the signal being cast from my JT2, without WiFi, then I'll be even more appreciative of your help. It's either this or a new tablet with data/charge port (more expensive) I'll write back once I try it. Thanks
Honestly I don't know. I've played online poker with mine. That's about it. I got mine to stream videos, movies and music. It works great for that. I doubt the processor would handle much by way of heavy graphics processing and the fast action of a game.
sadly it didn't work for me, I already know how to cast through wifi but I'm using another tv which is not smart tv I'm using a HDMI wire to a C adapter for my Alcatel tablet
Connect to "audio out" on the device you're casting to. Many televisions have standard 3.5 mm headphone jacks, otherwise you might have to use an adapter of some sort. Of course the tablet itself has a standard 3.5 mm headphone jack, but you will not be able to use that to listen to audio when casting media to another device.
Why does everybody who makes their own videos about things feel that they have to talk way toooooo mmmuuuuccchhhh! Thanks for this video, though. But when you make more videos, please edit your script and don't blaaaattthhheerrr oooonnnn.
