Why wait for Jesus when you can speed up that process through introducing the Antichrist on your own, right?
I never leave comments praising films, but I watched this at the cinema last night and its honestly blown me away! who ever worked on the sound needs a raise! and the atmosphere!!! cant wait to see where they go with it!!

This film is exactly what modern horror needs to go back to. All atmosphere with no cheap scares and even when the cheap scares happened it was perfect.
You must have not been up to date with recent horror films, because a large portion of them are exactly like this.

RUN, don’t walk, to your nearest theater to see this movie !! i just saw it and when i tell you, it is the first time in a LONG time i’ve been left speechless and in awe. like so haunting i CRIED!! i won’t say more but just know that i never leave reviews but this movie is just so good i want everyone to know and watch it please you really won’t regret

The omen is such a cool premise that has been completely under-utilised ever since the first movie. If they could do this story right; birth, ascent, battle. It would be a literal god tier trilogy.
I do think the first three Omen films are a really solid trilogy.
@@QUANTUMJOKER I agree as well, but I think a lot of people forget the 3rd one a lot. Most people I know only remember the 1st two films. Also, Omen 2 was such a great Sequel in my opinion. Like the 1st film, you wanted to know what would happen next. Hoping this new one adds something great to the franchise cause it looks beautifully shot with great acting - very reminiscent of how the original which was beautifully shot with great acting.

@@TazSimpson You are right. I'm one of the many who feel the third film ended on such an anti-climatic note to what Omen 1 and Omen 2 had set up. The only redeeming thing of Final Conflict was the epic score which in itself emotes that something grand we were going to watch, but instead the story told did not match the score. What should have been done instead of this prequel, is just reboot the third film and properly finish the trilogy with Damien being US President, and unleash hell on the earth via executions, plagues, and all kinds of horrors...make it a true biblical epic...there is untapped potential here that Fox and now Disney is squandering.

As someone who has grown a huge appreciation and love for the Omen films recently, this is quite exciting!
Check out the films recording they are on the right track tho sadly the trailers don't show that. The omen trilogy is well known for goldsmiths eerie score and dark church like music
We all know the "secret." What is there to keep us on the edge of our seats. It's completely predictable where this is going, but we are supposed to play along and pretend we are intrigued by some big reveal. yeh nooo. Get more creative and come up with something enticing. Good cinematography, but that is not enough.

I’ve never been so uneasy during a movie before it was terrifying in ambiance. I’m a huge horror movie watcher but I don’t think I’ll watch this movie again because it was so scary to me
Demonic activity is very real and no movie can even depict close to what it truly is....read the Bible as demonic activity is among us daily as demons can be very reserved and are sophisticated

They already did a version of that in The Omen 4, where the evil little girl wasn't the Anti-Christ themselves, but rather the host for the Anti-Christ.
If they are rehashing stuff from a direct to TV sequel then you know they are in a bad way.
The same way Exorcist Believer stole names and plot points from The Exorcist TV show, ... and we all know how that turned out!
If i'm not wrong, that girl of the fourth movie was Damien's daughter. I haven't seen that movie so I just find out that she was also the mother of the "second Antichrist".

Yeah but she herself wasn't the Anti-Christ, she was the Vessel or was born with an Anti-Christ embryo in her that was transplanted into her adopted mother, and then she took on the role of Protector when the Anti-Christ was born.
It's been a long time since I watched it, but that's the jist of it.
Perhaps they're taking the approach that the young girl, Carlita, was a failed attempt to birth Damien? This would set-up a potential "happy" ending, where Nell Tiger Free's character can save the girl and everything looks to end well. At this point, you can bring in the jackal plot point and not stray too far from canon. Or the "this girl is meant to be a mother" element is a red herring. I mean, I can't imagine they would just drop one of the most important (and disturbing) elements of the previous books/movies.
Yeh Maybe the girl is a decoy (give them something to fear) meaning he is still born of a jackal and they faked it so no one would look that way perhaps? its a prequel so no doubt they will explain it.Its such a important creepy part of the omen that they couldnt possibly get away with leaving it out or changing it!
i hope this is the case tho. the fact that Damien was born from a Jackal is terrifying when they mentioned that in the original movie.
Or, they are gonna feed her to the jackal. Maybe.
If this group is as far reaching as we've seen...they absolutely would have a back up plan in place. So I buy this theory.

Came back to say that this film exceeded all my expectations, and for purists, it actually DOES stay true to the canon with one exception. Great direction, acting, atmosphere.
This movie really scared me and conveyed some truly dark emotions, which I appreciate. I recommend it.

You can never replicate the atmosphere of the original with this crisp visual and sound effects. Still waiting for someone to realize that.
Enjoy the trailer.... it is way more action pack and fast paced then the movie is......... if you want a slow paced and action scatter movie, this is for you.

There's some shots in the trailer alone which I'm SUPER impressed by for a horror film of this scale and you can tell there's proper director vision (just did a deep dive on director and excited what she does next with her photography background), but you'll always have producers meddling to what will make it more marketable.

Now this is definitely more creepier and intense especially This trailer gives me a lot of optimism that we might be in for a real gem the cast looks really good. It feels that the protagonist of the film nell tiger free may not be at the full front of the movie which I thought she might be instead it’s a little girl but throughout the trailer it’s shows they maybe twists and turns. Overall the trailer looks good and intensely interesting

I love the original 1976 film with Gregory Peck and Lee Remick. It had the right combination of camp and horror. I'll keep an open mind about this film, and the casting of Ralph Ineson as Father Brennan is an inspired choice.

I don't think it was trying to be camp, but it's many years since I last saw it.
I don't really remember there was any 'camp' in it. It was pretty straight up horror.
The original Omen is good, although I prefer the 2006 Omen, with Liev Schreiber

I’m sorry but I am a 6o’s baby and nothing can duplicate the original 1st and 2nd movie. The 3rd was ok but the 4th and 5th they could have kept. The remake with Julia was ok because they sorta kept to the script. I’ve read the comments and I agree- looking for the jackal and the mark of the beast is a son. The scene when she died for Damien was classic- this scene did nothing for me. I will only watch it if it is free on one of the streaming channels.

So I just saw this movie and its actually pretty good. Good scares, decent story, and a twist that I didnt see coming.
Be warned its one of the most disturbing movies I've seen in awhile so prepare yourself for some scenes.

It has been YEARS since I saw a horror movie of this quality. Would recommend to anyone who is a fan of the genre, especially if you-like me-really enjoy religious horror, symbolism,… 10.
The actress who plays Margaret is fantastic. She reminded me of the main character in the 80s film Possession in some bits.
It was also very clear and delightful to me a woman directed this. Arkansha seems to just “get it”. Looking forward to more of her work!
