Hi, Dennis! Here's a bunch of random factoids about the song: 🤓
- This was filmed in Taiwan, where ACER is headquartered. The locations include the grounds of the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial (for the former president of Taiwan) and Shifen Street in the Pingxi District, famous for the Sky Lanterns on which visitors write their wishes.
- During this same visit to Taiwan, SB19 appeared on the Taiwanese series ATOM BOYZ (Season 2), which is a talent search/reality survival show where male trainees compete to become part of an idol group. SB19 were invited to be elite mentors to one of the trainee teams. SB19 performed GENTO on the show, which you may want to react to. If you do, you can use the subtitled edit made by CashualChuck.
- G22 also performed on a later episode of Atom Boyz 2.
- The lyrics repeat the phrase "MALIGAYANG PASKO" which is Tagalog for "Merry Christmas", but is translated in the captions as simply "Christmas". The more accurate translation of the refrain "Ikaw ang aking maligayang Pasko" would be "You are my merry Christmas".
- "LIGAYA" literally means "joy" (MALIGAYA is the adjective form), and SB19 recorded a Christmas song titled LIGAYA in 2021, and they tend to re-perform it at this time of year.
- "ATING PASKO" (Our Christmas) was written and co-produced by Brenan Espartinez, who also happens to be SB19's vocal coach. You can see him a lot in vlogs in the background of scenes when SB19 are vocalizing before a performance.
