  • What’s happening in this Breaking Bad clip?
Jesse confronts a paranoid Walter at the Whites' house. Jesse grabs Walter's gun and points it at him, accusing him of poisoning Brock (Ian Posada) out of spite. Walter claims that Gus must have planned Brock's poisoning and framed Walter for it in order to manipulate Jesse into killing him; the cameras around the lab probably spotted the cigarette, and Tyrus (Ray Campbell) must have taken it out of Jesse's locker, tracked down Brock, and poisoned him. Jesse ultimately decides not to shoot Walter.

What’s the TV show Breaking Bad about?
Walter White (Bryan Cranston from Godzilla and Total Recall), a chemistry teacher, is diagnosed with lung cancer. He decides to make and sell methamphetamine to repay his medical debts and secure his family’s future.
    Season 4 of Breaking Bad:
Gus (Giancarlo Esposito from The Mandalorian and Maze Runner)tightens security at the lab after Gale's (David Costabile) death. Gus and Mike (Jonathan Banks) work to drive a wedge between Walter and Jesse (Aaron Paul), seeking to coerce Jesse to be their solitary cook by capturing Walter while at the same time eliminating the Mexican cartel. Skyler (Anna Gunn) accepts Walter's meth cooking, and works with Saul (Bob Odenkirk from Better Call Saul and Nobody) to launder his earnings. Hank (Dean Norris), while recovering, tracks Gale's death to Gus and the drug trade. Gus releases Walter and plans to kill Hank. Walter tricks Jesse into turning against Gus, and convinces Hector Salamanca (Mark Margolis) to detonate a pipe bomb in the same room as Gus, killing them both.

@@mikesmithz He definitely became a sociopath. You can see how he has a problem killing a man who tried to murder him in the first season and became a monster who poisoned an 8 year old child to manipulate his friend to save his own life. After Todd killed this boy and they disposed the body, he was happily whisteling in the shower. His radical actions are mostly triggered by his gigantic ego. You can even see that in the early seasons. Walt was an egotistical asshole to many characters. He couldn't work with Gale, because he didn't like him for a reason. He saved Jesse because they have this weird codependant relationship rooted in Walt manipulating Jesse and somewhat feeling fatherly affection for him. Walt was definitely not an evil person at the beginning. Chemistry is also used as a metaphor for Walt's transformation throughout the series. The dude obviously liked being Heisenberg, intimidating the shit out of others. A great example for the duality of man.

@@chumuheha He had one thing wrong -- Walt using the Ricin. Aside from that, Jesse was right. Huell did steal the cigarette off of him, which is revealed in the next season when Saul gets angry with Walter, and pulls the cigarette out of his desk.
This is also the reason Jesse finds out later when he was waiting for the Disappearer's van. Jesse went to grab his weed from his pocket, but Huell pick-pocketed it off of him at Saul's order. Jesse frantically searches all his pockets, until pulling out a cigarette pack. He then pieced it together. His thought process while looking at the cigarette pack in that moment was:
"If he pick-pocketed my weed, then I was right about him pick-pocketing the Ricin Cigarette." - Which is why he immediately goes back to Saul's and gets him to admit to it.

One interpretation of this scene that I really like is that when Walt is urging Jesse to pull the trigger, you can argue that half of him really means it. At 4:06, he says "If you think that I am capable of doing this, then go ahead," and I think he's telling the truth here. We know from the episode Fly that Walt does feel remorse for his actions, but he's persisted on this (to quote Saul) bad choice road for so long that he feels like he can't get off. Walt knows that the longer he lives, the more people he's going to hurt in his rampant quest for money and power. The part of this scene where he urges Jesse to pull the trigger can be seen as one last challenge against fate on Walt's part. He's openly and willingly inviting divine judgment for his cruel actions, specifically from Jesse, who he certainly shares a particularly enigmatic relationship with. Recall that two episodes prior to this one, he had referred to his own son as "Jesse" in a medicated daze. I think Walt feels like if he's so far gone that even Jesse, his protégé, thinks that he's capable of committing such an immoral act, then he deserves to be killed. It's just an interpretation, but it gives even more depth to this already amazing scene.

If there's any scene in this series that best exemplifies Walt's evil genius (and luck), it has to be this. In casting Gus as the one who swiped Jessie's cigarette and poisoned Brock, not only did he recruit Jessie in an (ultimately failed) attempt on Gus's life, but he also ridded himself entirely of Jessie's suspicion by in fact poisoning Brock with lily of the valley, not ricin.
This was Heisenberg's hail mary, and it worked. After being threatened in the desert by Gus and told off by Jessie, Walt finds himself in a situation so seemingly hopeless that only a ploy befitting of an evil genius could save him. The fact he was able to secure Jessie's allegiance, thereby giving himself enough time to eliminate his deadliest opponent, only shows that he was willing to do pretty much anything to preserve his massive wealth and empire - even if it meant nearly killing a child.

Walt's genius is incredible i understand why Jesse told hank that Walter is the devil. He got away with nearly everything, always could manipulate people, and used every trick in the book to blindside his opponents only meeting his end after tying up loose ends with everyone tying him to the operation and being the one with the power to confess, dying before the police could cuff him in the end and making sure his son got the money and Skylar was blameless to the police, gretchen and elliot put in their place, Lydia destroyed, all the neo nazis gone, all witnesses in prison, and of course Jesse got away. (Not to mention the cartel being damaged)
It was all for him in the end in a way, since his legacy will haunt family for the rest of their lives and everyone else involved not to mention the meth business would have likely been transferred to other people since the recipe was known pretty generally by that time and over time the quality would have decreased but still been pure enough to make similar events happen again to other people. The actors are all amazing top tier performers but the true genius comes from the writers ability to tell the perfect story that enables this level of acting.
The only scientific inconsistency I found was the thermite vs the lock, but everything down to the fulminated mercury and magnets was actually doable.
    Definitely worth a third binge.
