Seeing how the valve works from inside really helps. Thank you!

You should apply soappy water on top fabric before screwing upper valve within lower valve so to slide freely and sit to perfection on top fabric lines previously marked on fabric when valve was assembled at factory. Will have a better final tight adjustment with tool than doing it completely dry..

Interesting! I wondered what the spanner that came with my inflatable was for.

I got leaks in multiple places on mine. I’ve patched to no avail. Have you ever tried injecting foam into one? Expanding spray foam like you get at a hardware store. Yes I know then you could not deflate but I never deflated it anyway.

On my boardworks starboard I have the same problem as Diane, unable to secure the nut to loosen the valve because of the location of the fin.

is it normal to expect to hear an initial slight hiss when undoing the top valve cover. its got a rubber seal in there which i imagined was to keep out ingress but it appears to be sealing a slight leak from valve?

Can't get any hold on loose nut inside due to fin and fin patch. How do you grab it? I'm very very mechanically inclined and I'm stumped by this system. Seems like bad design. Wish I had never tried to change it.

So the part that the valve screws to inside is supposed to move? I removed mine and freaked because it was basically floating around.

My valve and bolt are above the fin. How can I hold the bolt portion down so I can screw in the valve? I do not have a good grip around the fin therefore the bolt keeps turning and I Can't Screw in the valve.

Hand tighten. Then inflate and you can tighten it while It is rigid. Same in reverse. Loosen it while it’s pressurized and then finish it by hand (press down on the board around the valve to add a little resistance to the nut inside the board)

How would you change the inner bit of valve without having to cut the board?
