This is really a great hack, and makes the most of the flexibility of the Peak; as a new Peak user it helps a lot to understand things, so glad I'm also supporting you a little via Patreon.
Haaa this was interesting. I wasn't even looking for this but got curious and tada, I learned a lot. Actually more than from a lot of other tutorial videos I watched intentionally. :D Thanks!
There was a patch on the original DX-7 (I think just called KICK/SNARE) that worked similarly-you had to play at either end of the keyboard for it to sound right. It’s been a minute since I’ve had my DX out for a deep-dive so I don’t remember exactly how it was accomplished, but I bet this technique could be used similarly on the Peak-setting the lower to an 808/sub-y wave and the upper to noise/ring mod.
I laughed like a madman at how clever this was, well done :) edit: you asked for ideas, based on your ingenuity, is there a way to use the L & R outs to further segregate things? Idk if the filter has a stereo destination (only filter left) or output destination or something similar, but it would be inline with how you achieved this and maybe a nod to old 4 track tape multitracks, cuz I recently read a manual for one(fostex xr7). I know the dsi evolver desktop had some pretty cool control for oscillator output, and the tetra had even more options(4 outputs). You got my brains spinning now, hahaha cheers!
Thanks! And yes panning would be a great trick but you can’t here unfortunately ... I showed how you can use an octratrack as a quadraphonic system though because it has four outputs - so I am all for that kind of thinking ;)
Turn off Portamento/Glide, instead Poly two voices on one timbre and full Poly on the other timbre... I find Portamento sacfrifices too much sometimes. @Loopop My Best advice is to use Albrect Durer's Magic Square depicted in his art-piece Melancholia 1. in each direction on the 4x4 Square each lane = 34... Which entales 3 Octaves(36) only off by two. Good for Transposed Timbres
Neat video. I have a similar one for Circuit and other Nova engine synths here: ua-cam.com/video/btg--ceVvT8/v-deo.html Regarding the amp envelope, it should be possible to modulate the amp ADSR parameters with the keyboard mod source with the drawback (or benefit!) of having slight variations of the envelope between nearby notes. Nova synths let you bypass the filter for one or more oscillators. Actually, there's two filters on the Ultranova and Mininova, which is a big help for this kind of patching, but that was cut from Circuit.
As someone who is trying to learn about and understand synths I find your explanations to be very clear even for a beginner like myself.
The synth police wants to know your location!

Thanks - much appreciated!
This is brilliant. Great stuff as always, Ziv.
Patreon worthy. Thanks again for walking us through the principals outlined in your guide to the Peak. Gratefully.
Hey that's a pretty neat trick on the Peak! Thanks for the video.
This is great! So I can forget about getting the summit! Helps me trying to understand & control the peak better. Thanks a lot. Very helpful.
Cranking up the keyboard tracking can help with getting different filter sounds for the splits too.
Great ! Thanks Ziv, that’s very helpful 🙏
Thanks! This creates some fantastic variation for arpeggiation.
Merry xmas and thanks for all the video reviews!

Wow, that's awesome! And very well explained, as usual. (y)
Clever! Will try it out!
Dude this is dope. I will try this out on MiniNova

Peak big release campy
Wow. That's pretty slick.
GENIUS!!!! Thanks Loopop!! ❤Star!
great, i will try this with the novation ultranova
How do you not have 10x as many subs?? (30k at time of this comment...) Thanks for all of the useful and entertaining content.
Thanks very much - it means a lot especially on a small hack video like this :)
Peak looks cool, but I have a deepmind. Without a mixer control, can you still do this?
No

Oh shit. That’s brilliant!
Great stuff!
Wow thx really deep introduction
rad! 👍👍
Really cool tip Q
How does this synth sound compare to the Prophet 5 or 10?
Fucking AWESOME!!! Thanks for this
Make more presets for peak please!
TIL!
damn you are clever !!
This is great!
(Darn you, Peak. I already have an OB-6 Desktop. Stop it.)
troublesomecorsair I do too and the Peak. Still worth it. :)
Haha - exactly my thoughts. I have the OB6 Desktop and a Tubbutec Juno 66. Yet now I feel like I need the Peak to go with my new SL mkiii :)

Good to meet you my fellow hacker!
First. Lol
