@@learningthelyreharp I am going to make a 10 string harp. I am planning to make a harp with a nice sound. If there is a frequency that gives people peace of mind, I know it.

@@RecepDemir-k8u Goodluck in your lyre build. I have great admiration for those that build their own instruments. It's so wonderful to have something that is their own.

Hi 😊 I’m new to music and am trying to teach myself how to use a 10 stringed lyre harp. I want to tune my lyre to G major pentatonic. Can you please tell me the difference between a’ and a’’? Does this mean that one is flat (b) and one is a sharp (#)? Or does that mean a1 or a2 (i noticed that notes have the letter with the numerical subscript when tuning). I am using the ins tuner app. Please help. Getting a little frustrated because there isn’t much information on lyres.

Are you able to let me know the brand of your lyre so I can look it up and check the string set up? Most lyres with string names shows the note letter name and Octave number for example G3 (note G in third octave) and G4 (G in 4th octave). In Jianpu, (eastern notation) the use numbers instead of letter names, dots are added at the top or bottom of the number to indicate octave from middle octave.

If you have a Nisora Lyre and looking at the set up the ‘ denotes octave range. Essentially you have two sets of octaves with pentatonic notes degab, then another one an octave higher.

@@learningthelyreharp I think I have this type. Some of the strings are gold and thicker and the others are silver and thinner.

@@niyaverniceokay so it would be just those notes that I mentioned, no sharps or flats, just one octave above another ❤
