I was taught to adjust the interior mirror in a manner that all the corners of the rear windscreen can be seen comfortably.

I dont need to worry about the centre mirror as in a van. When in a use the headrests to get the mirror centered and the roof linning have it parallel with the top of the mirror. As im on side mirrors only . I get them where you showed generally and to confirm when im on a dual carriageway i will check the left is giving full view of the lane and the right for the right lane . If im not fully happy I will tweek them . I know new vans and cars have cameras for mirrors not that i have experience of them. I have drove vehicles with blindspot warning which i think is a good idea . I do manage without but the technology is there to compliment and help me out but not replace checks. Something i have worked out if a vehicle is going to pass me from the point it goes into blindspot area and comes out is usually 3 seconds. If they haven't come out i do start to look for them . My thinking is just because you cant see them doesn't mean they aint there so find them. Where have they gone . I might move my head forward or slightly away to get a glimpse of them.
