They don't come any bigger and badder than this! I see the Supra ads for 3.9 second 0-60... that's cute...this does that and can carry a Supra in the back! Great review Steve !!!
My cousin has one of these lol and he let me drive it. It is a pleasure to drive let me say. I love how the front end lifts up when you stomp the skinny pedal. The launch control is pretty cool too. we raced my buddies Corvette and we spun all 4 tires from the launch lol It was pretty even honestly.
Steve I still come back and watch this review a year later. Great work! Although this time I’m watching is different. Taking delivery of one next week.
Steve great review as always. Been watching your car reviews for years now. Great honest reviews aside, i have to say i love the power and usage of the english language/ paraphrases in your reviews. You have great command over the language and know what words to appropriately slide at the right time, all so flawlessly which make the review so much entertaining to watch. We need more auto review journalists like you. Been a fan for years. Keep up the great work my friend! :)
What a joyous review of an insane thing. Thanks! This truck is everything I don’t want on every level (my current DD is a Kia Niro EV, which is almost the opposite of this thing), but I am glad it exists, and I’m certain that driving it once would hook me HARD.
Another positive review about the trx. The only negative I see mention is the gas mileage but again nobody cares about that. I owned a ram srt-10 and it only got 9 mpg as well. Nothing new to me.
450 miles on mine, can't wait to test our launch control! So far only driven on road. Wonderful review! One of the best I've seen in a compressed amount of time.
If Dodge only provided something like a TRX package for their 5.7 V8 Rams!!! I really dig the look of the TRX, but a common Hemi would be enough for me.
I'm a Ford guy through and through. With that said, I'm so glad the Ram TRX is this good. T his level of competition will keep Ford on their A-game. In fact I wish Nissan, Chevy, and Toyota would get into the off road super truck space because competition breeds excellence. Some of that tech will also filter down into trucks that mere mortals can afford. As and example, I offer hill decent control. Hill decent control first appeared in ford trucks with the Gen1 Raptor, Now you can check that box in regular F150 4x4's. The raptor will always be my favorite truck in the world. With that said, great job Ram. Keep your foot on the gas, never let up, and keep the blue oval boys on their A-game.
Even at close to 90,000 dollars it's still good value for money imo. Especially compared to large "premium" SUVs from Lexus, Mercedes, BMW, Cadillac, Range Rover, Porsche etc. If you want to buy something completely over the top, this must be it :-)
I really love this review. I find myself watching it over and over again. I’m on the fence between the Trx and Raptor. But when I watch your review I’m like what Raptor. lol
To answer your question I just received my 2022 Trx 2 week’s ago. Same color as your test vehicle with level 2 package. I had to wait 7 months to get it .
Yea no if you buy this truck, you MUST opt for the panoramic glass roof option. As far as I’m concerned, gimmie the most stripped down one with no packages (no bed mounted spare, no bead locks, nothing) just make sure it has that roof.
It makes you wonder what will the power output will be made for the Raptor. Or if Ford will place the Mustang Cobra engine in a hypertruck, if they'll ever do so.
Its sad that we only have a few years left of these type of fun make no sense cars. Say whatever want you about electric it simply can't put a grin on your face like the hellcat motors do.
Rams infotainment is one of the best in the business and one of the most responsive the only thing that takes a while to load is the menu where you adjust the drive modes and that’s it
Steve: Top speed is listed at 118 mph, and though I haven't gone anywhere near that fast... Us: Of course you haven't Steve. You'd never do that...wink!
Apparently the TRX is coming to Australia, and we'll be paying upwards of AU$200,000 (US$154,999) for the pleasure! But, considering what it's capable of, and the tax advantage of a 'commercial vehicle', I think they'll do quite well here!
my cousin bought one then his wife (save the plant lady) complained about their combined carbon footprint so he bought her a Tesla and they called it draw. she uses the TRX to go for groceries now..
That’s a perfect truck to haul a bed full of squirrels . I host squirrel cage matches and it’s the perfect amount of speed to escape the law when they bust my underground squirrel wrestling I hold downtown in various alleys . I’d get mine in Elmo red or Cookie Monster blue though . Folding the back seats up with the ice chest and plug is perfect for me to plug in a deep fryer full of hot oil and have some cold drinks to sell out the back window as a semi legal food truck .
@@stevehammes well, that's the least trouble. We're used to it. But U.S. cars imports, it is a nightmare. U.S. price + transport from overseas + VAT !!! + approvals + commissions and there you are. I would get two TRXs in the U.S. for the same money.
Hi Steve! Quick question, where can I send you a direct message, I have a question related to a couple of cars I am currently considering, would love to have your opinion?
T REX is more powerful, looks better on the outside, looks better on the inside. Raptor is I don't know how to phrase this exactly. It can be seen when either truck does Donuts in/on gravel roads. I actually own a 2020 RAM Rebel I know how it is. The RAM's are bouncy, they bounce around on their shocks. Not to the point where its a problem but it does cause worry in drives. Fords just for some reason don't do that. The Ultimate truck I'd like to have would be a mismash a mix of the Raptor and the T REX put together. The Raptor's whatever makes it so good off road, shocks, suspension, axle's whatever it is. So a Raptor with the HP the RAM has, the interior the RAM has and nicer cooler exterior too. If you could make it so it didn't cost $120 to fill up that would be a GAME CHANGER.
1:48 thru 1:52 I didn’t like how rickety those front panels were banging on the bumper. You can only see it when the truck is going through very rough terrain (ruts, whoops) at high speed. Maybe it’s just me but it seems like it wouldn’t last long while legitimately using BAJA mode.
