I once sat in my mate’s Fiat Panda doing 85mph. Now I’ve driven a V10 E60 BMW M5 and sat in an E30 BMW M3 with left hand drive on narrow British country roads being driven by a military pilot at crazy speeds, but that Panda at 85 was the scariest experience I’ve ever had in a car.
At home we had until very recently a Fiat Panda Young, 2003. 1100cc FIRE engine - got it to 150 (93mph) on the highway. Probably true speed was 138ish (true 85mph) though as it tended to have a large speed error past 120kmh
Car and person perfectly matched! "When it's going up a hill it's like it's saying 'I'm trying my best' " - brilliant. I learnt to drive in a Panda just like that back in 1990. Great little cars - so fun, functional and unfussy.

I'm italian and you can still see some Pandas on the road here , people love this old car also because it represent a time where Italy was experiencing an economic boom. Then this car is really made in Italy, not like today's cars which are produced for example in Poland and then say made in Italy....
Greetings from italy! This warms my heart, i spend the past 20 years chasing after japanese cars. I absolutely love them and currently drive a nissan silvia s14 and a subaru wrx sti. I never would have imagined that in japan some people do the exactly opposite thing. This video actually makes me miss my good old fiat punto gt, it was basically a civic type r but turbo and the engine was nowhere as well engineered as the good old b16 lol Good fun in any case
I am from Italy. I owned 7 Fiat Pandas, currently i own 2 Panda, and other 3 cars. Still today, among all the car i ever owned, It is the best car i ever owned, specially with 1100cc multipoint engine, it is quite fast (160-170 km/h top speed and good acceleration too) and it has a very good fuel economy (also the 899cc it is cheap on fuel too). I also owned a diesel version (1300cc) that was marvelous in fuel consumption (in excess of 30 km per liter, and it could run with waste vegetable oil and diesel mix). It never let me down, it is simple and cheap to repair (you can do by yourself), it is good to drive for our crappy roads, and it fun to drive. It is not the best car in the world, but i like it very much. The design was simple (made by italian designer Giugiaro) because it was meant to be cheap to build and to sell. It was the "peoples" car back in the 80/90/00s, it was the real "new 500" , very appreciated by the italian customers and very well sold until its last production year (2003). Italian people nowadays seems to not appreciate that simplicity anymore and this car ended up mocked and scrapped even in very good condition for no reason. Many people are regrets they choice to sold or scrap the Panda. They are currently skyrocketing into the used car marketplace, specially the 4x4 version (loved by the car thiefs also!), where you can find a lot of custom parts made in Italy to customize your Panda 4x4 by your needs. The 4x4 is still very much appreciated because of its lightness, and versatility (it can go everywhere!) even compared to modern 4x4 vehicles (in many terrains Panda 4x4 is still the car to beat), because the drivetrain was made by the austrian company Puch, and featured a fully lockable lsd, deactivable 4wd transmission, and "free" rear transmission (it comes as optional) when you need to drive on the road, to save on fuel consumption. It is much appreciate by the thiefs, the animal hunters, the farmers, and many other "categories" at work. Right now i'm building my 1993 Fiat Panda 1000cc to the "Van" version, and i'm very happy and satisfied with the car. It is a joy to work on this car! You people in Japan are very lucky, your Pandas comes with air conditioning (yes, you read that right) and it was available with automatic transmission (also in Italy), which i discourage to buy for its transmission weakness, prone to broke, and the difficulty to get new spare parts for it. Other than that, Japan was the second market for selling numbers of this car. About 4.5 million of Fiat Panda were made between 1980 and 2003.

Great video, so nice to see such a humble car get so much love. Last summer I toured Japan visiting car museums and factories but also taking hundreds of photos of regular cars. One that seemed out of place was a old pristine panda driving close to the peace memorial in Hiroshima. Keep on the good work
I just learned the other day that there were no left hand drive Twingos built at all, so a switch would take a lot of commitment from Mao. But I love her Panda as well. Kinda looks like a tiny sibling of my Mercedes W124 wagon to me.
@@boys_and_wheels_tv_ Oh I am so sorry, that was my mistake. 😅 You are absolutely right, left hand drive cars exist. I wanted to say I learned that there were no first generation Twingos built for the British or Japanese market. So that would make them right hand drive. Anyhow - I love your videos. Looking forward for more.
I just sumbled upon this channel and it's everything I could wish for! Subscribed and on my way to binge watch all your videos! Sending love from Poland!

as an italian I love the first generation of FIAT Panda which are plentiful in the country side to this day (well, all generation of pandas are common here since it's the most sold car in Italy), also i love that those made for the Japanese market have AC, you won't have that not even as an optional here in Italy.
A sweet little car - honest and unpretentious. In the U.S., where I live, so many people drive huge trucks and sports cars with V-8 engines. I much prefer smaller cars that get you where you are going, with a sense of style and a charm of its own, much like Mao.

UA-cam recommended a video of a Fiat Panda in Japan to me. Obviously, I clicked on it. Out of nowhere, the guy is wearing a Bahia shirt! I must say it was unexpected.

イタリアからのご挨拶 :) The Panda has been my very first car (white color). You can still see some of them on the streets here in Italy , it was very common, practical and reliable. Big little car. 2:50 I adore the fact that she has CDs! What kind of music are they?
UA-cam alogritm recommended me this video. It's interesting to see this car. I remember being on a holiday in Spain(Lanzarote) in the 1990's and the rented car we got was identical to this Panda. I was a kid back then, but all I remember is my father swearing about how he didn't like this Fiat Panda :)
Thank you for watching and commenting! I'm glad this video reminded you of your memories. Is your father's complaint a good memory? Anyway, I'm really grateful to UA-cam's algorithm!
Fiat Panda is a masterpiece of automotive design by Giorgetto Giugiaro. He once said: Its easy to design a beautifull Ferrari, Lamborghini etc where the cost is not important but try to design a car that has to be cheap, roomy, simple, easy to produce, good looking, important for the company but has to cost only 2.000.000 italian Liras. Its not easy.
Thank you for watching and commenting! Perhaps masterpieces are born from constraints. I hope that the glory of Panda will continue to be told in the future!
oggi scopro che la fiat panda aveva il cambio automatico. grazie mille signori per il video, fa piacere vedere che la piccola meraviglia di Giugiaro sia ancora apprezzata e soprattutto al di fuori dell’Italia

Thank you for watching and commenting! To be honest, I bought it at a second-hand clothing store in my neighborhood because it said FIAT. A Fiat Panda specialty store...Japan really is different :D. I am also surprised that she chose to drive a left-hand drive car in Japan, I would assume that is quite rare over there. And that she bought her first car at 30 years of age :D.
@@boys_and_wheels_tv_ I actually meant that buying a first car at 30 years of age is quite late. Or is that more common in Japan? Around here (EU) many people get their first car quite soon after getting their drivers license, I would say at around 18-22 years of age.
The guy simply wearing a Bahia shirt, presenting an Italian car in Japan. Completely random and beautiful

I just learned the other day that there were no left hand drive Twingos built at all, so a switch would take a lot of commitment from Mao.
But I love her Panda as well. Kinda looks like a tiny sibling of my Mercedes W124 wagon to me.
Thanks for watching and comment! Left-hand drive cars do exist. They certainly have a universal appeal like the W124!
Great jersey, great interview and great car! Fiat Panda is so kawaii
Thank you for watching and commenting! We're glad you enjoyed our video.
I just sumbled upon this channel and it's everything I could wish for! Subscribed and on my way to binge watch all your videos! Sending love from Poland!
Thank you for watching and commenting! I can't believe people are watching from Poland too. It makes me realize how great the Internet is. There will be lots of fun videos uploaded in the future. Please look forward to it!
@@boys_and_wheels_tv_ I'm a bit obsessed with all things Japan, I admire your country and the people :)
Looking forward to your new videos!
as an italian I love the first generation of FIAT Panda which are plentiful in the country side to this day (well, all generation of pandas are common here since it's the most sold car in Italy), also i love that those made for the Japanese market have AC, you won't have that not even as an optional here in Italy.
Thank you for watching and commenting! The information from Italy is very valuable and I'm glad to hear it. It's definitely better to have an AC!
I hope she can continue keep driving & maintain this car, vintage & a beautiful car 🚘💚
Thanks for watching and comment! You are absolutely right. I would love to see what happens when she spends many years with her Panda!

From Italy: congratulations! 😄The old Panda is an unstoppable reliable mule.
Thank you for watching and commenting! There are many Fiat Pandas on the roads in Japan and they are very popular.
subtle & charming. it's doing the best it can !
Thank you for watching and commenting! "I'm not at your wonderful expression"
A sweet little car - honest and unpretentious. In the U.S., where I live, so many people drive huge trucks and sports cars with V-8 engines. I much prefer smaller cars that get you where you are going, with a sense of style and a charm of its own, much like Mao.
Thank you for watching and commenting! The minimalist world is packed with charm. Thank you for your comment from America!

The Panda 1 is way cool! This one is nice and loaded even with Airco. take care of this Classic.
Thank you for watching and commenting! The Panda is a very charming car. And the owner is cool too!
Thanks for these videos n English subtitles. Really appreciate this
Thank you for watching and commenting! We are happy to know that viewers around the world can enjoy our videos thanks to the English subtitles. We will add English subtitles to all our videos from now on, so please continue to enjoy them!
The original Panda feels borderline cyberpunk in 2024. Wish they went for the same route as the Honda e with it, that design needs some love. :D
Thank you for watching and commenting! In Japanese, we express this as "愛嬌(ai-kyou)" The Honda e also has aegyo. It may be a characteristic of cars that continue to be loved through the ages!
I have just discovered this great new channel! Subscribed.
Thanks for watching and comment! We are very happy to hear that. We plan to upload many more videos in the future, all of which will have subtitles. I hope you enjoy them!
UA-cam recommended a video of a Fiat Panda in Japan to me. Obviously, I clicked on it. Out of nowhere, the guy is wearing a Bahia shirt! I must say it was unexpected.
Thank you for watching and commenting! I never expected that a T-shirt I bought just saying FIAT would attract so much attention in Brazil. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
イタリアからのご挨拶 :) The Panda has been my very first car (white color). You can still see some of them on the streets here in Italy , it was very common, practical and reliable. Big little car. 2:50 I adore the fact that she has CDs! What kind of music are they?
Thank you for watching and commenting! I'm glad you watched in detail. I asked Mao again, and she told me that she often listens to CDs from the 90s!
@@boys_and_wheels_tv_ great decade for music, thank you for the answer ;)
Cool to see an old european car in japan. Maybe citroen xsara in the future? ✌️😃
Thank you for watching and commenting! Of course, we also have plans for Citroën. Look forward to it!
@@ohjajohh Probably a SEAT Marbella, a licensed clone.
@@jimbotron70 Yes it was a Seat Marbella indeed. It was a Spanish rental car that had trouble going uphill on the vulcanic island of Lanzarote :)
this makes me miss driving, thank you for this wonderful video!
Thank you for watching and commenting! I hope this video will inspire you to go for a drive. So, where will you go for a drive tonight?
Great video.👍🏻 But I’m not sure about the microphone concept.👍🏻😂
Thanks for watching and comment. Yeah we use wireless microphones, Tsukasa interviewer looks up to Tamori he is Japanes famous comedian though😂
@@boys_and_wheels_tv_ Greetings from Slovenia EU.

I did not expect to see a Panda in japan, I have the same model and color
Thank you for watching and commenting! There are a lot of Fiat Pandas on the road in Japan, and the fan community is very strong.

Grazie per aver guardato e commentato! In Italia i panda AT non sono molto conosciuti. Interessante!
I like the video, because she loves her car so much!
Thank you for watching and commenting! It seems like she treats her car not as a tool but as a human partner. I think that's the ideal relationship!
This car is dope, certainly looks good as is but i'd love to see that body on work equips or something

A silly question, but, why is the guy wearing a Bahia footbal team jersey? Is just because that Fiat logo, or is he a true fan?
Greetings from Brazil!
Thank you for watching and commenting! To be honest, I bought it at a second-hand clothing store in my neighborhood because it said FIAT. I learned about Bahia when I received many comments from Brazil. I also received a message from their official account, and I am amazed at how amazing Bahia is and the infinite power of the Internet. A Fiat Panda specialty store...Japan really is different :D. I am also surprised that she chose to drive a left-hand drive car in Japan, I would assume that is quite rare over there. And that she bought her first car at 30 years of age :D.
Thank you for watching and commenting! It's interesting that she chose such a rare combination at such a young age!
@@boys_and_wheels_tv_ I actually meant that buying a first car at 30 years of age is quite late. Or is that more common in Japan? Around here (EU) many people get their first car quite soon after getting their drivers license, I would say at around 18-22 years of age.
