I've just written my first penpal letter, but I'm so scared she won't like it. She's super aesthetic and my first letter wasn't my best. I was looking for a penpal forever and I was so glad she said yes but I don't want her to be dissapointed 😔
I felt the same way when I sent her mine! I would change so much but I really enjoyed what I had made and I loved the experience - my advice don't worry, enjoy it, and remember she is a wonderful person who is just happy you cared enough to write to her in the 1st place x
it doesnt matter if it looks bad, even if it does, which i doubt, because the aesthetic is just nice in the moment, but the main reason people do penpalling is because kindness, words and friendship will last a lifetime

You can find penpals on instagram. :) and it takes sometimes up to a month to arrive
You should perhaps go online and research or go into your postal office websites it should have it stated there
