Kind of makes you wonder how much of the stuff they actually keep because, before you got busted with the video camera, I saw a whack of stuff they had even before American Pickers. Back in the Antique Archaeology show days. I think that's what the current show misses a bit, their actual passion for doing this as well as the unedited script. Without being there, I did know that this shop was in an alley, off the beaten strip. Good vid. Cheers!
I would guess the guys have a list of collectors they know, so when they pick an item, they can bring it back, set it aside, and call them up. That way it's sold right away and never reaches the sales floor.
Was anything for sale? I'm not far from the Nashville store but I heard that it was just a tourist attraction and only sold T Shirts....I was told you could ask but if you did you were told an astronomical crazy price.....so I was wondering what you found out in Iowa?
You should check out their Nashville TN. store. Very cool shop, lots of other things to see in the same complex also, and I don't think they would mind if you took video there. I have been there 3 times and took small little videos of me and my wife inside their Nashville store, and no one said a word to us about it.
Even online all they have is crappy self advertising merchandise. If you want to see anything remotely antique, you have to visit their ridiculously overpriced stores.
It's all for sale, but most people go there for the "awww it was on TV", ..you got the money and are serious buyer, it's for sale! What do you think they just keep everything! lmao
With 5 mil in the bank forget going around looking for junk.. Heard they make $500,000 a year just doing the show.. It's all a front. Maybe when the show started they did stuff but not now.. Oh well I did like the show but I am sure the end is near.
What stupid logic. If they stopped looking for junk, then there would be no tv show, then no $500,000, then instant bankruptcy if it's true that they don't sell anything except for t-shirts and bobble heads.
It's a TV show people it's not real. You never see them selling anything but t shirts.. The store is nothing but a show piece people.. If I was making a million a year I sure would not be hunting for junk..
The fame has gone to the Pickers heads. You can't even touch half of the items in their other store even though they have price tags on many of them. Trying to get an employee off to the side to do business in a crowd of tourists is next to impossible. The no video cameras at this location is just the topping on the cake. Not impressed at all. They used to be cool dudes. It is to my understanding that Mike is the anal one that makes the rules. No surprise there. You still got my upvote because it's not your fault how they are.
Not True Public Property is not the same as Private Property. Just because it's a commercial property for the general public doesn't mean Policies of Store or business do not apply. It's Private Property even if it's open to the general public. Know your laws.
I have been to the Nashville store real toniest trap mostly t shirts and such no real stuff for sale. And yes I think the show is 90% fake but who cares it is entertaining.
You sound as if you could be a major pest. Your tone is completely sarcastic, your comment re: "a bit of Americana" was repeated at least 4 times. Articulation is not your strong suit either. Yes, you're right their store looks like a real bore, likely nothing to buy unless one is loaded. I'm glad that you don't have a regular TV show.
Pawn Stars are also a T-shirt shop. Nothing to buy except bobble heads and t-shirts.
Hi from tucson arizona thanks for having me along for the ride I love the american pickers wish I could meet them

Went to the Nashville store. Was really excited to go but the only thing reasonably priced was the bumper stickers and keychains.

No video ehh..well if it is open to the public, then you can record video.
Rules don't trump the constitution.

why no video? what is so secret? weird
What’s the harm in making a video in a store that’s open to the public?
