Absolutely stunning performance! Full credit especially to the bassoonist for pulling off, to fine comical and virtuoso effect, those "interruptions" in the final movement when the two oboes keep trying to finish the thing off and the bassoon keeps on going off on one.
@Robin Klupp Taylor yes, it was such a fun to play with these fantastic wind players!
Zelenka? One of the best!
Bravo!! 🤩 great tempos! Great playing ! 🎉
Siempre un placer escucharles
Chenna rocks! Yeah!
I've been watching quite a few times, but listening was the best part. Thanks, thanks!!
This comes on public radio, WMHT, 89.1fm on occasion. Today I had to do a playlist to track this incredibly eargasmic music that just begs to be heard and played. If you listen, you note the competition between the notes of a challenge to be heard over the other instruments.
Heard this for the first time today on Sirius Radio "Baroque and Beyond" on their Symphony Hall channel 76. Addictive music, energetic, and brings out the virtuosi in these reed players. My late father was a concert bassoonist, but I do not remember him tackling this delightful piece.
Bravissimi tutti, splendido!
thanks, for the wonderful music)))
suuuupppeerrrrrrr!!!!
If only your camera angle had been such that we could fully see the bassoonist and oboeists ...
Yes, I know 🙉 I was thinking where to place the camera... unfortunately I couldn't simply put it in front of the audience
There are some novels directions by this ensemble. I hope that they record more of Zelenka's works.
We would like to record all six Zelenka sonatas
I'm jealous for not being there...!
Can we find music on Tidal/Spotify?
Wundeschön gespielt
Vielen lieben Dank 🙏
There was much that was truly fabulous about this performance, however there were a couple of things worth mentioning, at points there was a dreadful sense of panic and the tempo slowed in the wrong places to accomodate some of the complicated musical passages. There was a fair splattering of false notes in the 3rd movement. Also the bassoon was drowned out at his brilliant cadenza, perhaps this may have beeen the balance of the acoustics. Lastly the timbre of the oboes was shrill and brittle at times, this is the closest wind instrument to the sound of the female voice, it must never be macho'd out, also Zelenka is all about the swell within the note, quite a different counterpoint sound from his contemporary JS Bach. The slow movement was ravishing it was very emotional and I loved it
The harpsichord could not be heard at all. There was a triangle in the distance, though.
Es schleppt so oft und unangenehm zu hören:(
www may be?
The bassoonist is hidden
Yes, unfortunately there was no chance to try out camera setting
But possibly it could comfort youto know that we attend to make a real video production of all six Zelenka sonatas in several months
Widerliche Werbeunterbrechnung!
