Welcome to the Letterman UA-cam Channel, home to all your favorite clips from Late Night and Late Show - as well as conversations with the writers, producers and performers who helped make it all happen. And for those of you who like Miscellaneous, you may very well find some Miscellaneous here.
I have a hopeful feeling that all these Chris Elliott segments are leading into a Chris Elliott Staff Favorite Moments video!
Yeah, loving all the Chris content, but it feels like everybody who wrote on Late Show for more than two weeks is going to do a staff picks first.
Always loved when Dave prowled inside and outside 30 Rock bugging the hell out of unsuspecting people. 😅 And yes, please bring on more Chris Elliot!!!!!🎉
Now, this is a classic late night TV moment. Dave saw a legend, Chris came up with a legendary character, and Dave lifted weights. You don't get stuff like that on TV anymore.
Oh my goodness, what a lovely trip down Late Night memory lane that was! Thanks!
"We're testing some equipment", best line in this clip.
Those adlibs from NBC latenight era have yet to be matched
I love how low budget the set was on the old Late Show, especially compared to the extravagance of the CBS show.
Yes, more homey and intimate. But, getting the theater was key to the show becoming "epic!". The difference being a standard television studio vs. the historic Ed Sullivan Theatre where they could plant their feet with a permanent set. [The stage was retrofitted as a hi-tech sound-studio for recording the live performances of musical guests, and the after-show music-sessions, and concerts.]
5:47 the very reason why I always pause and read the parts of the letter not surrounded by the red highlighter :)
@3:37 that's Frank Field, who was a tv weatherman in NYC for nearly fifty years.
I looked him up. died in July at 100 years old
THANKS for these Chris Elliot clips all week. YES!!
Sophia is alive and 89....put your Google fingers back in their holsters.
Smile when you say that, partner.
Love how Dave would do his little pop-ins here and there. Thanks Dave!
REM was the musical guest on this episode and years later would provide the theme song "Stand" for Chris Elliott's show "Get A Life"
Connie Chung’s secret committee of twelve lives to see another day.
Fun fact: Dave narrowly avoided having his legs broke after Sophia Loren sent a pair of Teamsters reps out to 'talk' to him about the dressing room incident.
Haha! Sounds like something greaseballs would want to do for her. " How daaa yous walk up and, make er feel some typa way..."
Love how they highlighted the 'to read' parts of the notes in Crayon!
Please, for the good of the United States and society in general, release the remastered Conspiracy Guy chronicles specifically related to the Connie Chung secret committee of twelve. The public has a right to know! Thanks for the video.
------------------------ were gonna have to file formal FOIA.....w/library of Congress n get full clearance from the Pentagon ....thanks4sharing
I'm wondering...Yes! Sophia is still with us at 89!!!
(1) “Murmur” was the R.E.M. album that came out in 1983 and when I first heard it in 1987, I was blown away.
(2) Sophia Loren smokes unfiltered Luckies.
(3) Stupid School is cool.
(4) Chris Elliot looks unhinged without a beard. His work with Letterman was always hilarious.
I miss Dave so much. Does anyone else remember his daytime show? It was amazing. Fun fact... Dave was the inverter of the "cold open" concept.
Sophia and Chris. Two specimens of sexiness, beauty and femininity.. one waning, and one blossoming.
Chris would be the femininity part.
The man under the stairs!...,lol
I love that early Letterman set. Just so much junk cluttered up all around on the walls. haha
1:28 BOB ROONEY!
The guy named Frank looked very confused, like "what the _ happens to Dave?" 😂
Man, She’s smokin!
I remember seeing this in '83 and wondered why he didn't invite her to be on his show, then or sometime, or to come over and wave at the audience; anything but stammer like a school boy. Now looking back, the show was so new-He knew that she had no idea who he was as his star hadn't hung quite high enough in the sky yet. She did make appearances years later when promoting the 'Grumpy Old Men' franchise.
Chris Elliott was a hilarious as the Conspiracy Guy....now we have a country full of Conspiracy Guys....and its not so hilarious.
I know, like who would spend two years investigating a trump Russia collusion?
@@genehakman9422 Bingo! That's like investigating littering on Charles Manson.
Yeah let me jump on this comedy series Bandwagon here ...while it's current on UA-cam. Okay...'Chris Elliott, possibly the FUNNIEST guy on Late Night! I mean that!! Thanks Dave!'
SUCH a brilliant show!
I HOPE that THE DONZ is in charge of this UA-cam channel (and is paid WELL for his goodness).
I will pray for America.
Please pray for me.
God Bless you.
A new band, called REM!
Yes!! I didn’t realize this was the same episode that REM made their network TV debut, playing “So Central Rain” before it had a title. This is peak Letterman and peak 80s. Absolutely the best.
boy ol' maureen never sat in an uncomfortable chair thats for sure.
Chris is ahead of his time in a period of endless conspiracy theories
All the Chris Elliot videos are making me think he must have died. I hope I'm wrong!
For a while there, I was starting to think you got your Sophia Loren & Chris Elliott files mixed up.
Jeez...at least three people in that tiny room smoking. Yuck!
The good ole days.
She's Italian.
Chris didn't die he did?
The prices are missing , we’re just trying to make them talk………..
Chris
Sophia Loren had alheimer's toward the end of her life, God bless her!
Sophia Lauren smokes Luckies.
Chris Elliott.
Back in the day before people knew they were being “programmed”.
Congratulations on the 8 pounds Buddy 👏
