    Awesome flight. Just kept thinking that's going to be a long walk if it goes down!

    at 6km it still shows rssi 99...!
    amazing man
    but there is some advantages of background signal noise also,
    i mean if you fly this setup on city side or crouded side then there will be a different result

  • @fpvdavid

    6km?? La señal en el osd que es LQ o rssi? O las dos?

    Good flight.
    Did you used normal operating mode or forced telemetry mode?
    Rfmd 2 or Rfmd 1?

    Goodmorning. I've been thinking about this setup and you've helped to make that decision. I'm interested in seeing where your channel goes from here? I'm a Minnesota farm boy with a lot of acres to fly over and we only have 1 neighbor about 1 mile away so everyone's happy :). He flys a Autel xstar pro I think it's called. Can't miss it! Big orange thing in the sky! Have a great day. I'm guessing if you live in the USA you're somewhere near Iowa or Indiana?

    hey buddy, That was amazing. I want to turn my quad into a long range quad. Do I need a tbs unify vtx with the crossfire? And besides the vas black cannon antenna did u have anything else to help u with fpv feed? I have the Aomway commander diversity goggles and Im gonna buy the VAS antenna. Do I need anything else? thank u

    • @skinnyflea2628
      @skinnyflea2628 6 років тому

      If your still wondering, the tbs unify has nothing to do with crossfire except being made by tbs. You would also want to use a circular polarized antenna so you can fly around yourself without loosing signal.

    so why the hell is my LQ dropping down to 40 after just 1.3km? Maybe cause the antenna isn't placed that good, but does it make such a huge difference? i have it unter my left rear arm...

    • @leehudson1384
      @leehudson1384 7 років тому

      Elecifun thanks for watching! probably the crossfire if you can afford it. I didn't get any dropouts, only low rssi. I bet the diversity Rx would be even better.

    • @Elecifun
      @Elecifun 7 років тому

      It was great to watch, cheers for uploading. I will go with the TBS as I watched a review on the Frsky long range kit last night and would prefer the features in the TBS Crossfire (www.hobbyrc.co.uk/tbs-crossfire-868mhz-transmitter-module). I will try the micro RX first as the price difference with the diversity is over double. I only have a 250 sized quad.

    • @Jpilgrim30
      @Jpilgrim30 6 років тому

      Crossfire smokes the frsky in long range especially if you get the original tx with up to 2 watts of power. TBS has taken the system 100km out.

      Sorry I no longer have the Rx. It was on the back of the quad with the dipole in a vertical orientation.

    • @lgwwin
      @lgwwin 7 років тому +2

      So when you landed, the dipole will hit the ground?

    • @dinkbox2308
      @dinkbox2308  6 років тому +2

      James Li No there was enough ground clearance on the quad for this not to happen. It had a huge 4000mah 4s lipo under it.

      aaron estrada how does this return to home function actually work? Is it like a safe mode to ensure u don't lose ur quad? Also how can I get this on my quad? Any help would be really appreciated.

  • @nathanameru7654
    @nathanameru7654 7 років тому

    You can't test the range with a quad. They'll run out of battery before the crossfire even starts to roll up it's sleeves

    • @dinkbox2308
      @dinkbox2308  7 років тому +1

      Ben Jones I think the drop in RSSI shows you can. I think it would be very hard to get the quoted range. The conditions of this flight were pretty ideal

    • @Jpilgrim30
      @Jpilgrim30 6 років тому +1

      DinkBox not hard at all. I have the full size tx but I’ve been out further than this on 25mw

  • @BlinkFPV
    @BlinkFPV 7 років тому

    Pretty strange that min 16 rssi :(

    • @dinkbox2308
      @dinkbox2308  7 років тому +1

      Blink I think it drops out abit when the quad turns around. Maybe the antenna orientation during the turn caused it. I thought it would be better to be honest, my L9R got 5k.

    • @BlinkFPV
      @BlinkFPV 7 років тому

      I'm really in doubt about this product... i mean they said 20km but i have saw some video about failsafe at 100 meters away...

    • @dinkbox2308
      @dinkbox2308  7 років тому +1

      Blink yeh I have to admit I'm not that impressed. I understand it would be an improvement for a 5" racing quad as the micro Rx is small but it's not great for real long range applications. This was direct Los too, 20k is bogus.

    • @BlinkFPV
      @BlinkFPV 7 років тому

      Yeah totally got it, what you suggest for me? basically mid-range flight like 1/2km (with the x4r i don't feel to do it :D )

    • @dinkbox2308
      @dinkbox2308  7 років тому

      Blink Well the crossfire would easily do that, the rssi on the video is pretty consistent for at least 2k. I don't think for the size there's much better than the micro Rx. If you can fit an L9R though that's rock solid. I'll try and do a video with the L9R and a patch antenna, I think it will wipe the floor with the crossfire.

  • @steveng2931
    @steveng2931 6 років тому

    Really not so hot range. Not even up to L9R at 9 miles!

    • @dinkbox2308
      @dinkbox2308  6 років тому

      Steven G I've never heard of an L9R doing 9 miles.

    • @steveng2931
      @steveng2931 6 років тому +1

      I should have added with a "wind surfer" reflector on the Taranis side. Even without one, we routinely get 4 to 5 miles. I have a TBS Micro Rx and to be honest, the long range results have been disappointing. I think it's mainly directed towards the quad folks.
