I need your help. I'm shooting a video soon about assumptions that people have about nursing/nursing school. Comment down below some assumptions you perhaps had or things you have heard people say.
"Night nurses do nothing because patients sleep all night"
"Nursing is emotional draining"
"High job security in Nursing , so you can never be jobless after you don't studying"
"Nurses don't have social time"
I may be late, lol. I'm a 2nd year BCMP student at Wits and it's been great! We are taught the importance of collaboration from first week because we are supervised by Doctors. Nurses do a lot of good. However, I have heard a lot about power struggles in the nursing field. The need to constantly compare and grade someone's profession and level of education. Nurses are known to lack collaboration outside of the doctor, nurse relationship. I have to admit that in all the hospital rounds I've done so far, I haven't personally experienced this but my friends (RNs and CA) have.

Hi I applied for nursing last year through ylthe government...this year I was invited for a medical surveillance assessment. What is that? Please advise
Medical surveillance is a planned medical programme with periodic examinations, which may include clinical examinations, biological monitoring, and/or medical testing of employees. The purpose of the programme is to determine whether an employee suffers any negative effects of specific workplace hazards.
So it's an assessment to determine your risk of getting ill while working
You can read more about it here- siza.co.za/medical-surveillance/
Hey! Would you be able to transfer from a 3 year diploma to the 4 yr degree let’s say after your first year of study?
Yes, possibly but I don't know if they would let you enter second year. They would have to give you credits for modules you did but if you missing any They would require you to do them in your 1st year of the 4 year program
Great stuff, thank you👌
Thanks for watching❤🥰
Thanks for the information 💞
Pleasure🥰
Thank you for this☺
My pleasure 😊
Hello,
Can a “general” nurse perform/ become a Cosmetic Nurse Injector? Besides from the injector course you have to take. Or do you have to do the 4 years?
Yes you would still need to study for 4 years
I also would like nurse injector but I don’t want to go through the 4 years midwifery route 😭
Hi could you please provide us with a link regarding proof of this information?? According to the SANC website it stats R171 is a staff nurse ?

I have a question, there's some institutions offering a two years diploma in midwifery and nursing science for level 6 but they are called enroled nurses.
As long as they are under the SANC accredited institutions, it counts
Thank you 🙏🏽
so if you specialize after the 4 year program? how long does it take? lets say you want to do community and psychiatric nursing? is it gonna be 2 years or you can do them same year? what is required from you when specializing ? do you have to do your master or doctorate?
It would take you two years (if you studying full time): one postgraduate a year. You just need an undergraduate degree and experience in the field you want to specialize in.
Doing a masters/Doctorate is a choice. For example if you want to be an operational manager, you would need a masters and experience
Please im want to know about where nursing collage?
Search SANC accredited nursing institutions and you will get the full list of
Hi dear I just found your videos can one be midwifery if they have completed their 3 year general nursing qualification and wants to do post graduate in midwifery
Yes you can. You would need to do an advanced diploma in midwifery
Hy l would like to know if its possible to study nursing in south africa when l did arts in my A levels in zimbabwe but managed to pass my o levels , with maths and science included ?
You would have to take your o levels to be evaluated by USAf to see what they put you at

Please watch this video. It will guide you. ua-cam.com/video/XC13ipA41zM/v-deo.html
I'm doing grade 12 and I'm doing research on nursing and I wanted to know when I can start applying or do I apply after getting my results. By the way I want to go to a nursing college.
You can apply from March this year using your grade 11 results
@@silibazisomupereki the thing is they are not that good so... can I apply with my grade 12 term 1 or 2
Yes you can
@@silibazisomupereki thank you so much
what about if my grade 11 marks are better than my recent grade 12 marks ?
Is there government funding for nursing colleges ? (Tuition/accommodation/food)
NSFAS is your best options if you are south African, Western Cape Bursary or PAWC
Hi love what's the difference between a registered nurse and a professional nurse?
It's the same thing🥰
@@silibazisomupereki thank you so much ❤️
Hi how do i upgrade from a general nurse to a registered nurse?
A general nurse is a registered nurse
Can you do nursing without maths
With maths literacy you can. However it's only at certain colleges or private nursing institutions like MediClinic, NetCare and Emmanuel.
Unfortunately not
How long till one finds out if they have been accepted or not?
If you are a current matric student, you will find out in Jan after your final results come out. If you are post matric, you should find out before end of Feb
Thank you for this video 😅
You are welcome ❤️
Do they give stipend? If so how much?
No my dear
I would like to apply for 4 year program kindly assist
Applications open in April. Kindly see my “how to apply for nursing” playlist
Is R171 internationally recognized?
Yes
Hi dear...if you have a diploma in (general) registered nurse of 3 years, how long many years will it take you to study for a professional nurse?
Is it the new diploma?
Hi there, yes it's the new diploma,I also want to know how many years
When you graduate from the new diploma is nursing you graduate as a Registered/professional General Nurse. Then if you want to specialize it will be a year for each specialization
Thank you so much for that,I really appreciate it and thank you for sharing your information with us,it really helps a lote,
My pleasure ❤
How to apply for those programs
Online application at colleges. Try WCCN if you are in the western cape
hey girl💕 how many years does it take for me to get my nursing degree of I already have nursing diploma
It depends. You have a nursing diploma in what? Staff nurse?
yes
Unfortunately the legacy programs to bridge from staff nurse to RN have been phased out. You would have to apply for the degree and start again. Recognition of prior learning might take some modules out but it depends how long ago you did the degree
@@silibazisomupereki alright thank you such
Hey can a registered staff nurse with midwifery work with doctors during surgery...can they become a nurse anesthesit
As a staff nurse you can work in theatre as a floor nurse but not scrub nurse (which is the one that hands tools to the doctor). There is no course for nurses to be anesthetist in South Africa
You can watch this video (ua-cam.com/video/3cB9OSE3N5E/v-deo.html) where I discussed all these questions you have❤️)
@@silibazisomupereki okay so what is the diffrence between a RN nurse and a registered staff nurse
I have never heard of a registered staff nurse. Staff nurse's official name is enrolled nurse so rather stick to that. I only know of a registered nurse and registered general nurse
@@silibazisomupereki Oh okay okay that's cool. Thank you so much for your info. I have another question please.
