I camped outside for 28 hours, and a scalper came up and I got a ticket. my friends stayed another night for a total of 53 hours. the show is amazing. I cried for the first 15 minutes, but "wait for it" live made me ball. I also cried for the last 30 minutes, but still. if you have the dedication, do it. it's the best thing ever.
that's the thing. after staying out for over one night, only the first two girls got in, i was 13th in line. (this is for the cancellation tickets). and they got premiums which were $394?? basically the highest the box office sells them for. there's 15 minutes left before the show starts and a scalper came up and asked if anybody wanted tickets. I turned around, asked how much, expecting to pay $500+ and he said $100. girllll, i almost passed out. I grabbed my friend who had cash, and saw it a week prior for camping out, and her friend who i met that night and paid the scalper and got in after the 28 hours. her other friends and the people waiting got in the next night for a total of 53 hours and paid $177 each ticket, which is what the box office sells everything else as. thing is, if people don't claim their lottery tickets, they are sold to the cancellation line. so all of them got front row tickets for $177. (I had great seats, they were center orchestra).
I'm only seeing this after becoming obsessed with Hamilton now, but man I'm glad Jimmy shows genuine interest and admiration for Lin and the musical instead of just being paid to promote him or something. It's too often you find talk show hosts interviewing people just for views and money, I love that Jimmy here has actually seen Hamilton and is fangirling super hard.

I am so fricken stoked for all those kids to have their minds blown by seeing a Broadway musical. I went on a trip with my high school choir and we saw Wicked on Broadway in Chicago and it literally changed my life and instantly made me fall in love with musicals. And my teach taught us songs from Rent and Les Mis and Wicked and it's because of learning about that genre of music at that time in my life that made me fall head over heels in love with it and appreciate it, and knowing there are going to be so many kids who get to experience that makes me unbelievably happy
It's good to see him finally getting some recognition. To write the book, music and lyrics for a Broadway musical is nothing short of incredible. I hope this man's name becomes household.
lin's whole life is about coming full circle which is so beautiful! from les miserables next door to bringing back hamilton to puerto rico after hurricane maria, to getting an oscar nomination (for moana) after dreaming for one for the first time after seeing little mermaid!
I love how excited jimmy fallon is because of HAMILTON and because he is talking to LIN MANUEL MIRANDA. And when he says I'm so proud of you and I don't even know you! nfjklasnfjskafsa YEAHHHHH exactly that is how I feel. All of this is great.

And my teach taught us songs from Rent and Les Mis and Wicked and it's because of learning about that genre of music at that time in my life that made me fall head over heels in love with it and appreciate it, and knowing there are going to be so many kids who get to experience that makes me unbelievably happy
