I'm guessing you recorded this before the RNC. I'd be interested to know if your thoughts on Trump have changed after he allowed himself to be prayed over by a Hindu, as well as all the other godless things that happened during the convention.
It was mid-stream of the RN, but none of that was new to the Republican Party. The RNC was just a good progress report for us to see the state of the modern "Conservative" party and where we need to get to work. I don't view Trump as a great *Christian* leader, but I do hope that he would serve a purpose like Cyrus or Nebuchadnezzar did.
@@Brian_Sauve I find it against my conscience to vote for Trump (I've had this position for over a year). His stance on lgbt issues, and his compromises on abortion, make it impossible for me to support him with my vote. The RNC just cemented my feelings on the matter. I don't believe they are functionally any different from the democrats, they're just a few years behind.
I would rather a democrat be elected, than to put my vote behind a republican who actively stands against my core beliefs (while pretending to be on my side). In other words, I believe that things will work out as God ordains, but it's my duty to not violate my conscience through fear of what might happen if I don't.

They are a Christian Democratic (Not the Democrat party, but "democrat" as in "for the people") party that focuses on Anti-Abortion, Pro-Family, and Pro-Community policies.
@@lauraandrews1676 Either Trump or whoever the dems decide their candidate is will be on the president in January. Voting for Trump isn't agreeing with position he holds, its saying he is better than the alternative. Also if you don't like how Trump compromises on abortion how would a democrat be better? Their positions are far more extreme. The same thing applies with LGBT issues.

Completely disagree with the analysis. Nationalism as being described by the hosts is a modern 19th century invention. For half of American history where was no such thing as an “American” identity. There were state identity or regional identity.
The historic and natural identity for 90% of human history was a family identity based on the extended family and tribal ties.
The only valid replacement for any of these distractions is love for and obedience to the Church.
I don’t think you disagree with him as much as you think you do, around the halfway mark he talks about patriotism, which explains exactly what you describe
