I see that a sign on the church said grand opening. So the priest was relatively new to the town and following the kids actually allowed him to explore the town and meet the locals. Which is why people don't know or recognize him. Which is probably why the cult wanted him gone and the two hobos will probably destroy the church later on.
But he appeared briefly in a previous spookymonth episode, where he splashed a kid with holy water
I totally missed the "Grand Opening" sign, which is odd considering the church has been there since Halloween, given that Gregor was in episode 5, and this clearly takes place some time after that, so it feels like far from the "Grand Opening".
@@Rubberman202 maybe it was still being built. But I also looked at the qr code for the episode and it had a picture of the priest and a note was beside it saying. "Who is he?"
At minute 31:35 Moloch ran away because the children revealed his name to the priest, which is a huge disadvantage for him, because with knowing his name, the priest can get all the authority to force him to do what he orders him to do, that's why for Gregore it was easier to exorcise the others and he could force him to leave this realm.
I absolutly loved the look of OH no when the kids revealed his name.

one interesting fact i dont see a lot of people talk about is Moloch staring at the babies as patty. The reason for this is because in the Bible and many other legends, Moloch was praised and worshipped using child sacrifices, mostly in a furnace (also explains why his lower torso is a furnace).

The mascot that appears in the background dancing is called Doctor Simi and he is the mascot of a pharmacy in Mexico that is always outside these pharmacies dancing and greeting people who pass by.

I don't blame Kevin for being suspicious of an old guy hanging out with a couple of kids (especially a priest, yeesh). Having said that, while Father Gregor is incredibly stern and harsh, his intentions seem pure and well-meaning, insofar he intends to Skid and Pump down a path that won't get them in as much trouble. Not to mention, the crosses and holy water he uses work and I can't imagine them being as effective if he weren't devote. Even when it comes to criticizing Lila for being an irresponsible parent, he might not have the full context and it's not like Lila regularly drinks like this, he still has a bit of a point in terms of how she can often be neglectful and basically let her son do whatever he wants unattended. Father Gregor is ultimately a pretty cool character, which is why I hope he survives his encounter with The Eyes of the Universe.
Moloch, though... I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting to see him again. I legitimately though he died along with the body he possessed in episode 3. It feels a bit odd to reuse a villain/monster from a previous episode, but I'm glad they did, since this closes the book on Moloch in a more satisfying way as opposed to a cheap gag. It's funny, though, even though Moloch is far more intimidating here than he ever was previously, Father Gregor still manages to overpower him with the power of God and Christ (or "the Lord", as he says in this episode). Also, here's a piece of trivia I bet you didn't know: Moloch is a legit Biblical demon, a Canaanite god whose worship involves child sacrifices, which explains why Moloch in this series is obsessed with children. Even his full-body design (which we finally get to see in this episode) involves him having cloven hoofed feet and a furnace in his pelvis, which is based on typical Jewish depictions of the demon. Really rad design, I must say.
I will admit, though, I got legitimately sad when Skid and Pump started crying over Moloch's death; they never realized that Moloch hated them and was dangerous both to them and everyone in town, and legitimately believed he did nothing wrong. This, combined with the focus on Skid's disappeared dad and Pump's missing parents, as well as Lila being called out on her parenting (which I imagine is something she worries about constantly and is probably devastated to hear her own fears vocalized by someone else directed at her), makes this a very downbeat and sad episode. I supposed I should have expected that, the name of this episode is "Hollow Sorrows" after all, but still, this episode hit harder than any other previous episode emotionally speaking. Feels strange to think the first episode was just wacky shenanigans with no consequences...
...That spider, though. I noticed the mannequin moving around in previous Spooky Month episodes and assumed it was a ghost, but this spider is a far more interesting detail. I suspect it will be the focus of an upcoming episode.
Lastly, in case you didn't realize, that weird fisherman that shows up randomly to "scare" the police officers but fails and gives up? That's PsychicPebbles, AKA Zach Hadel, animator, occasional co-host on Oney Plays, and co-creator of Adult Swim show Smiling Friends. And for the record, what he did with the police in this episode is TOTALLY something the real Zach would do IRL. :P
Watching Airier's reaction to Deadly Smiles, I actually saw the spider on the ceiling when the mannequin fell onto Dexter Fella.

The Knife was brought out because it was a sign he had no choice. The man at a house with a revolver (Ignacio) works for the mayor along with being friends with a guy at the morgue, and the mayor asks for the hobo bros to demolish the church while a certain body they just picked up needs to be transferred elsewhere. That guy you know is the candy dealer from Spooky Month 3. Have a feeling that Ignacio and the Mayor work with the Cult and that the QR code leads to a special Imgur file that has you search other Imgur files to find a new image.
And in SP 5, the Mayor pretends to think that he cult isn't real and it is all in John's head.
Also Ignacio has a cultist amulet under his shirt. You can see the gold of the amulet underneath when he is in scene.
Goodbye is an important part of the ouiji board, you have to force the spirits to say goodye so nothing remains.
I feel that next Spooky month (or maybe the one afterwards), will be the climax for the series.
It’s getting to be more serious and dangerous each go around.
Things are starting to escalate at every point. The kids are definitely going to run out of luck. They almost did in this one, where it not for Gregor, the mother could’ve been killed by Skid and Pump.
That ending art they have for the episode makes me think it symbolizes that god has no place in this town. By attempting to fly on holy wings to escape the fires of Moluk, Gregor flew right into the eldritch light of Eyes.
26:24 the qr code goes to an updated clue board where the detectives are looking at the connections between the cult and what's happening. There are a couple of urls that take you to more pictures. Yet it all revolves around a puzzle I have not solved yet.

I believe the Priest willingly went before the brain monster bc he clearly knew about the Cult but obviously arnt on good terms, so he might have known the the Cult would've hurt him and make him go either way, so he choose to go willingly as to not be hurt. Or maybe the Cult has been known to hurt others if the one they took doesn't comply, so he went willingly as to cause as little harm as possible. (Just a guess/Speculation, idk why he did that...😅)
I think that the guy in the suit in the ending scene was Evermore. He did say to the police officer in episode 5, "I don't care about your imaginary cult, John." This kind of makes me think that the mayor was leading the cult and was trying to make people forget about the cult. He has a slightly similar voice to the one in the end and he did tell the drunk addicts to help him burn down a building. It is possible that the drunk addicts were dressed in cult uniforms along with all the other people Evermore has gathered. Evermore also most likely wants to banish guns so that when he gets voted then he can cause terror to the city as a cult leader without people shooting the members.
Everyone keeps saying that it’s Skid’s father in the painting because they have the same jewelry; but now I’m thinking maybe Evermore had him killed or overthrown so the mayor could take over as the cult’s leader.
Im pretty sure the cult is the guy with gun in the house, the mayor, the doctor in the hospital, "sugar" dealer, bob velesk, the burglars, Roy's uncle, the clown and possibly skid's father

I find it interesting in this episode the father said that sweets were poison to the body, but the candy dealer gave the candy store sugar. Then he appears as a associate of the cult. It will all connect in the end.

At around 16:00 the candy in the backrgound is not just a reference to Elaine from Gooseworx's series, but the red horned candy with the yellow eyes is a reference to Satina, which is another indie series by Hannah Daigle. I think the other two are also references, but i am not familiar with them, so i cant really speak much on that.
The X in wood on the man's door is a reference to a past episode where Skid and Pump broke a hole in his door with a hammer on halloween.

My theory from what I know is that Skid's dad left the cult (I don't know why) and when the cult was finding out about where he lived he ran away and hid something (perhaps he died trying to do so) and that's why alot of pictures of him have his face removed and why the robbers were hired to steal everything from his house

After seeing a documentary on dantae's inferno I feel like in terms of direction we already passed the lesser sins lust and glutany. Wrath which is this episode is definitely the transitional point to the greater threats/evil. Which will most likely end with the mayor pride. Who has committed one of the worst acts in terms of dante being a political traitor. Since we see signs of the mayor wanting to ban guns in the town. To most likely make the cults plans all the more easier.
What’s the sin for each episode? Because best I got for ep 1 is self-indulgence
@@Gooey-gnam0 well its not for the episodes it's more of the characters. Moloch is wrath since he is violent. Red devil from tender treats is gluttony as he eats his victims. Plus he would stop a chase to eat food from the ground. Then Dexter from Deadly smiles is lust. As His need for murder is a bit more of a desire for him, as he wants to kill to fulfill his needs. I saw a post from Sir Pelo saying it as well. "1- Dexter is not part of the cult and he enjoys killing living beings (Lust to kill)" The one guy who keeps quitting his job is probably sloth, and the mayor is pride.

@@chrimsonphantomI’m guessing that means Ignacio represents Envy then. He’s generally an angry person, but while Wrath makes someone lash out indiscriminately, Ignacio seems to get personal joy out of hurting those who are more fortunate (John) or have supposedly slighted him (the boys and Gregor).

6:25 the first drawing was made by skid, he drew him, pump and happy fella (possessed by dexter the exterminator) being possessed by moloch. 2nd was made by pump he drew themselves' souls being taken by eyes (the tentacle god in their universe) and the last is is made by happy fella (aka dexter) the drawing presents of him killing skid and pump.
No, the wooden planks on that man's door was from the previous episode where Skid and Pump started to hammer at his door and broke a hole into it to get in when they were trick or treating.
Some thing i do wish to point out is that we got a clue on what the episode is about and that is the scene early on with the exorcist

The spider is most likely the spirit of the dad we thought of the mannequin itself being the father, but the spider creature fixing the mannequin might mean that he is the father, not the mannequin being the father.
Also I think that the spider might possibly be not an antagonist. It’s shown to be the one that keeps setting up the mannequin that gets in the way of multiple villains. The spider also scared off the robbers. I could go into a more detailed theory but I don’t want to stop you from exploring it yourself.
