Once upon a time, golf pros came together under one umbrella to compete in all tournaments.
Records were broken, prizes were won, and endorsement deals were sealed due to the golfers' sterling performances. Things couldn't have been better on the PGA Tour; it was almost like a monopolistic system where the Tour called the shots, determining who stayed and who left. I mean, they could do no wrong, right?
But a few decades later, a new golf league was proposed to rival the PGA Tour, and to everyone's surprise, one of the Tour's sworn enemies was elected to lead the rebel league.
LIV was not set up to be a rival league! LIV was SUPPOSED to be a very select few tournaments for a very select few golfers to play for huge money. It was only when the PGA Tour decided to ban any of their subcontractors from playing in these "elevated events" that they (Norman and the Saudis) decided to create their own breakaway league.

Competition between leagues will only lead to players getting a higher percent of the profits. Golf is unique from other sport leagues such as the NFL and NBA as on the PGA you don't sign with a team, have a contract, or have leverage to request a trade or a raise. Love the competition and hopefully the players will continue to get a larger slice of the pie and autonomy to play whichever tournament they would like.

The PGA Tour does not have a problem. Great players (Nicklaus, Hogan, Snead, Nelson, Watson, Rahm, etc.) have come and gone and the PGA Tour survives. The LIV "tour" is like a travelling men's club that will eventually die on the vine when PIF tires of losing money.

Greg created a tour which in less than 3 years threatens the existence of the 55 year old PGA Tour run by Jay who's actions made this possible.
So who would anybody in his right mind, want to be in charge of the running golf? Definitely not the greedy commissioner that betrayed the loyal golfers on his tour while stuffing his own pockets... obviously the very successful Greg Norman who is looking out for his players!

Yea no cuts and 3 day tournaments with no meaning but money is a real winning formula lol lets not forget about the cringe champagne team celebration every tournament if they wasnt worried about anything but money why are they still waiting to play in majors
Your argument kinda proves how retarded the regular PGA tour events are. Most of the top 5-15 PGA golfers would skip everything that wasn’t convenient minor tournament or a major if it wasn’t for the fedex cup system and even then plenty of the top players skip tournaments.
The concept of a fixed travel period and knowing when you will need to be on site and off site for tournaments is also a big financial help for the golfers and caddies.
And yet it’s so much better than the boring stodge the pga trots out !

Educate yourself as to what they've done and how they're now sports washing to hide their evil deeds. Any athlete who chooses to be sponsored by such a bloody regime has sold themselves out. There's absolutely no historical tradition or serious following of LIV golf, and it will never stand the test of time, or be remembered as a great sports league. Honestly, no one cares, or will ever care! :(

Time and the PGA will bury LIV.
LIV is sinking like a stone, the exhibition golf model has zero following and is being relegated to the ash heap of history. It will continue to burn bags of loot but the quality will continue to sink.

Wow did you not see the feedback this year and the past tournament in Australia? 100’s of thousand people and pure excitement! LIV is so much more of a better product and have a better following with Teams, 3day play,shotgun starts & TEAMS!
Regardless of why ppl are leaving I’m sad that the history and tradition of golf has ended
