Every youtuber seemlessly does a EXCELLANT! Job at rubbing off Dream Team. As if they didn't even bother listening to it. Bro didn't even showcase ''Try, Try again'' which is a EXCELLANT! and one of the best regular battle themes, But instead showed a theme of the first area theme that your brain hates because you hear it soo goddamn much thanks to tutorials? nah man.
@@buny0058 rate the soudtrack of a game bad because a song that repeats so much it's the same as rating a song of a game, just don't make sense for a soundtrack rating

But music is music, everybody made other memories with the game, DT just hits different for me.

Imo Dream Team easily has the best ost but all 5 of these soundtracks are phenomenal so I can see any of them being someone's favorite
Just a two things to say here:
1: Idk how you didnt mention how good the dream world music is
2: Paper Jam only uses the SS remix until you find Paper Mario, then its the real battle theme.
He probably hasn't touched dream team for a long time or never played it.

For the arguments, its kinda like yours but I don't put them into the same importance :
- Paper Jam its just a medley if everything previsouly made in worst
- Partners in Time goes very well with the game atmosphere but I don't like the soundtrack (less than Paper Jam)
- All Superstar Saga are litterally classic and memorable. Unfotunetaly I'm to young and I didn't play the original game but only the remake. So it has less impact on me than the other games. Chilhood nostalgia. (By the way, you remain me what a banger was Teehee Valley)
- BIS is extremely close from DT in my opinion because of all his super Dynamic theme that makes want to practice Bros attacks in real life. Litterally, Final, Mini game 2 and Boss music are absolute Banger. However, I just feel that sometimes, and really just sometimes, the music don't match perfectly with the atmosphere, espicially for some lands ost. But the battle themes are insanes honestly.
- Dream Team doest'n have this ick in my opinion. It's just perfect. Perfect with the atmosphere of every place, every room, every moment. It conservs this super ultra dynamic mood, and adds the waves of dream world, which I think is pure harmony.
To conclude, here is my top 5 OST in DT :
#5 Dreamy Somnom Labyrinth
#4 Never Let Up
#3 Victory in the dream world
#2 Antsama theme
#1 Pilio Vacation (credits isn't cheating lol)

My opinion is slightly different for changing Bowser's Inside Story to #1 and Dream Team to #2

Did you even play Paper Jam…? The battle theme is great, that superstar saga remix you call the lazy battle theme is only used at the very beginning of the game for a few battles.
And the boss battle theme is a big banger.
In Paper Jam, I only really liked the Mount Brrr theme and the Shiny RoboBowser theme. The rest of the themes were either just okay or missed the plot.
Adds to the theory that he never played Dream team as well. He probably just emulated the first 3 games.

5. Superstar Saga (Hot take?: the compressed GBA soundfont really drags this game down for me. The loops in some songs are also incredibly short. There are still many good tracks but compared to the others it's a bit.. eh. If I had to name my favorites those would be Come On! and Cackletta and Fawful)
4. Paper Jam (Very generic at times but there are some bangers, like Mixed-Up Scramble, Big Bang[er] and Where's Toad?)
3. Bowser's Inside Story (Another hot take??: The battle themes in this game are pretty weak, In The Final and _maybe_ Oki Doki are the only ones I truly like. The area themes is where this game SHINES. Some of my favorites include Cavi Cape, Plack Beach and Dimble Wood)
2. Partners in Time (Just as underrated as the game itself because most, if not ALL of the tracks fit perfectly with the atmosphere. Crisis of the Red and Green, Ominous, Serious Trouble, Another's Requiem, these are all masterpieces and I'm tired of pretending they're not)
1. Dream Team (I feel like I don't even need to explain why, do I?)
I have done music compilations of the Mario & Luigi series franchise so ive listened to all their soundtracks thoroughly. My list would go as follows (just my opinion ofc, and all these games have great soundtracks)
5. Superstar Saga. Might be controversial but i feel SS is not as consistently great as the other games. It has a few highlights like the battle theme, oho oasis or welcome to the beanbean kingdom (that last one in the remake especially) but most of the music is just alright in my eyes. Most of the area themes are not that memorable.
4. Paper Jam. It is true that this game has a bit of a disappointing soundtrack in some ways, mainly because weve come to expect something so great at this point in the series. Most of the area themes are more boring than superstar sagas. What saves this soundtrack from last place to me is the great battle themes, they’re all fantastic. The boss theme in is among my favorites from the series, and the final boss is amazing as well. This soundtrack also has quite a few hidden gems that you only really notice when going through the whole OST.
3. Partners In Time. This game i feel does not have as many standout tracks as most of the other games, but i will praise it for its great consistency. Nearly all the area and battle themes are really solid at the very least, they just do not reach the heights of these last 2 in my eyes. Also, this game is generally has some very catchy themes. Peachs castle, the tutorial, underground, and thwomp volcano/caverns are all great examples of that.
2. Bowsers Inside Story. Choosing between these last 2 is a bit hard to me, but ill give BIS 2nd place. This game has fantastic music everywhere, both the area and battle themes are top notch. There really are no forgettable tracks here. In the final is notoriously great but also take any old area like toad town, plack beach, cavi cape, deep castle.. you will find great music everywhere here.
1. Dream Team. Similar to BIS, this game is packed with great tunes everywhere, but i think Dream Team just edges out BIS with some amazing heights and even more consistency. In BIS, the “inside bowser” remixes are fun, but you usually would just listen to the overworld variation. In DT, the dreamy versions are on par with the overworld version, and sometimes even better. DT also has a better giant battle theme than BIS imo, and not a single lackluster battle theme whereas i admittedly did not love Bowsers battle theme in BIS that much. Victory in the dream world is my favorite song of the series (which is good because you hear it a lot lol), and the final boss theme is just as good as BIS imo. All in all i just gotta give Dream Team the top spot.

Dream team has so many bangers... Never let up, Dreamy Sommon Labyrinth, Final Antasma Battle, Adventure's end... I'm glad all the comments are pointing this out and it's nice to see my favorite Mario and Luigi humor content creator agrees on this
Dream Team at least place two, the musik in this game is one of the best things in it
All have amazing music.
But the music for the final bosses are peak.

Dream team has to be my favourite it’s mainly the magic of the dream world and all the battle themes are all bangers

my top 5:
#5: superstar saga; although some of its tracks are good and iconic, it cant compete with others. although people seek simplicity from its tracks, it feels WAY too simple
#4: partners in time; most of its tracks are definetely good, it's only down here because the others are just better, simple as that
#3: paper jam; definetely underappreciated. the game in itself is boring yes, but they ALMOST made up for it with its music
#2: bowser's inside story; perfect mix of iconic and good, just listen to bumpsy plains or the boss theme
#1: dream team; do i really need to explain? its tracks are EXCELLENT and what makes it even more EXCELLENT is the references to other tracks included in the dreamy themes: most dreamy tracks are a port of their real world counterparts but they just feel more ethereal, for example victory in the dream world is mostly a port of try try again but it seems like luigi forgets some parts of it and fills it in with other parts, which is an amazing detail. i dont wanna bore you with the details, but it's simply amazing

I still not getting why people seems to hate paper jam that much when it has the most organized and sticky songs of the franchise, I feel like the most of people just follow the crowd instead of having their own perspective, just cause everyone says the same about it.. paper jam has one of the best boss theme, battle song, and cassual events but people just says "paper jam worse, bowsers inside best" so everyone says that, whatever, sorry for the little hate, I'm just tired to see the same opinion when that is not objective and I've played every game of the franchise

And imma say it, Superstar Saga's music is fine but it loops way too easily and at the end i find it too repetitive in comparison to all the other games. It's still cool and enjoyable tho but not as good as the others imo

Bowser's Inside Story definitely had the best OST
I really liked the paper jam battle theme. The batte system was really fun in that game. I honestly don't think it was a bad game, just very mid compared to the rest of the series. Dream team was so good! It actually has a glorified hard mode! I still haven't beat the giant battle arena in DT.
Super star saga has the best battle music though and gwar har lagoon. Teehee Valley song is great.
Browser's inside story and dream team are my favorite games in the series though.
My main complaint of Paper Jam is that, after going 4 straight games of a unique plot, antagonists, and locations, we just get the generic "Bowser kidnaps Peach" plot, no new original enemies, and just the typical first area being grasslands, second area being desert, etc. And the Papercraft fights are a huge downgrade from the Giant fights
I’ve been replaying the M&L games and so far, Bowser’s Inside Story is my LEAST favorite in terms of gameplay and music. For some reason, everybody rates the game as one of the best in the series but I never got the appeal

the interesting part about BIS's boss theme, "Tough guy alert", is that its a great boss theme but man, in a challenge run or low-level run where you haveta retry bosses like Dark Star
(when you ban equipment and special attacks entirely, Dark Star is literally the hardest boss in the entire game, and the most aggressive by far. I can confirm this is absolutely true. its 4 color orb attack, if 4 of the same color, and goes Top to Bottom, is literally near-unavoidable. if you mis-time the 2nd orb, you'll get frame-trapped by the 3rd+4th, and die. this I also confirm is true from testing it.)
or Dark Fawful(5 turn wait time each time for Vacuum helmet when you take away using special attacks.)
Tough Guy alert can actually legit be sleep-inducing or tiring/grating to listen to when having to retry the bosses for so long, to which I deff assume is cuz of the high pitched notes and playin the same thing over and over 🤔

Yeah that remix was used for like the tutorial battle only. After that, it just uses this theme that sounds way to chippy to be a fight against an enemy
