Horse Riding Course

This exclusive video unmasks the rigorous and invigorating transition of willing Officer Trainees into able Horse Riders. The Short Term Horse Riding Course (STHRC) spanning over ten weeks is conducted at Horse Riding Unit (HRU), SSB Academy, Bhopal. The aim of this course is to imbibe participating Officer Trainees with confidence to take on new challenges and the ability to learn new skills in the field of Horse Riding. This video entails 2nd STHRC comprising of four young and dynamic Assistant Commandants whose sheer determination and perseverance ensured that they were able to successfully perform various activities including dressage, show jumping, cross country jumping, tent pegging etc. The hoof of the horse is as good as the horse itself. As is evident from these lines, Officer Trainees were trained in thorough grooming of horses along with care and maintenance of hoof including practical demonstrations of hot horse shoeing by the HRU Ferrier. This overall experience is best summarised in the words of Winston Churchill who says, 'no hour of life is wasted that is spent in the saddle.'
