AH! This is such a great organization! Such great work! I first visited Pine Ridge in 2009 after my mother passed away. The people just touch my heart. So, I have traveled to Pine Ridge Indian Reservation since that time except for the pandemic and last year. I assist two or three schools in Wanblee and Porcupine with school supplies, gently used winter coats and sweaters and one year, new coats for 2 first grades and 1 second grade. I have also helped for many years the children's social Justice organization, OTS Emergency Youth Shelter, First Families Now,, Rose Fraser with the Oyate Teca Project, and adopted a Ogala Lakota family. I send needed items to First Families Now such as quilting, kitchen linens, and Easter Goodie Bags. The Lakota family includes a single mother two children. So, the children generally receive a new outfit for their birthdays, Easter, and Christmas. I also send them new shoes and boots and, of course, candy. The MOM receives bed clothes, pants, shoes, boots and so on. With Rose Raser, each years I send beautifully wrapped Christmas Care Packages for the elderly. The boxes contain personal hygiene items, a winter scarf, gloves, and hat. It does my heart good to help these wonderful people. I am part Cherokee and my nation does so much better than others.God Bless you folks for helping the Ogala Lakota.
Why is it always outside government or business that help our native people while our own reservation governments don't do jack for the people or other reservations like my Navajo Nation government anyways that family is lucky there are people that cared for that family to have a home

the U.S government needs to stop spending money on war and paying themselves so much money. Some people of the U.S needs help...
This is hard now due to higher cost of materials. God bless MDS.
