I've just finished making them on an old cotton bedsheet, and they're literally the prettiest thing ever, I'm obsessed. definitely going to buy prettier fabric and making another pair, thank you so much for the tutorial 💕💕💕🥹🥹
Oh that makes me so happy! Thank you so much for the kind words. I am so glad it is easy to follow…(sometimes when I’m making these videos I really don’t know!) 😆
Thank you so much for watching!! It would really depend on the look you’re going for, but woven/non-stretch is best, and probably something that’s light or medium weight. I use an unbleached 100% cotton muslin.
Can I make the pattern with centimeters? Cause to calculate we need inches and all (I'm french so I don't really know how to do it with your type of calculated method :/ )
Thank you for watching and for your question! And yes, you can definitely use centimeters! The equations will still work out, whatever your preferred form of measurement.
It really depends on the size of your bloomers! For smaller ones I use about 1.5 yards of 44" wide fabric, but for larger ones it can be 2 or 2.25 yards. I would recommend cutting your pattern from paper then laying it out to see what you will need. I hope this was helpful!
You can find the worksheet for this here: mothandrustdiy.com/make-your-own-coquette-bloomers/

the brief confusion and panic i felt when, after doing the equations on the worksheet, the first measurement example was my exact measurements
That would have been me, too…! 😆 (Thank you so much for watching!)

@@MothandRustDIY thanks 💕
Can this be made by hand sewing?
It certainly could be if you’re willing to take the time!
@@MothandRustDIY im thinking of starting this month to have it ended in the next one, planning on doing it for a costume for Halloween!
Can I ask about how much fabric you used?
