Hi Rob. This performance by Amira was in Pretoria South Africa in Dec 2019. This is the capital city of that country. However Amira lives with her mother and brother in Potchefstroom which is south west of Johannesburg. There she attends school and her brother attends University. Her grandmother and mother came from there. However her father I believe still lives in the Netherlands following the family separation a few years back.

'Ave Maria' (William Gomez version) at Canisius Church in the Netherlands with only her brother on violin, her mother on the barely audible recorder ... and her father playing a backing organ. Cheers

This song she dedicated in 2018 to the loving memory of her grandmother who had sadly died not long after her initial audition in Hollands Got Talent in 2013 which she went onto win. Okay, I have just the perfect recommendation for you re Amira without the stage the orchestra, choirs etc just her in a pair of jeans and sweater in a music shop where she went to buy a piano. The shop owner and herself, to demonstrate the piano, he played while she sang two songs, Caruso and Moon River. If you can react to those without copyright issues etc, none of which I know anything about, they are definitely the songs for you. Stunning. I too love just her voice with the least accompaniment, where you can hear all of her voice's beautiful qualities.
This is not what I want to hear from Amira. Not because she isn't good, she is beyond good. But the style here doesn't do her talent justice. Opera arias are where she shines, brilliantly and spectacularly. There are exceptions, like AL Webber's musicals, and some of the late Morricone's works for vocals. Amazing Grace, How Great Thou Art....songs like these can bring tears. Sometimes, Broadway musicals or great hymns or Classical Crossover, but always, always the Arias. Bel Canto or Verismo, when she is ready to do them.

Pretoria - South Africa. There are vids of her singing without big backing. Just seen one of her singing in a gondola on a family holiday in Venice.
