Yea I don’t really get why people make too much a big deal about it, censorship this and that, like it’s a problem when that censorship does ruin something from what the story is trying to convey but most of the topics kinda just whine about not being able to jack on something idk, I think that’s just weird.
I watched Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and I can’t help but think it’s a westerners attempts at creating a generic shonen anime but in live action. It’s got all the tropes that exist in a mediocre shonen anime. Power of friendship, corny dialogue, bad exposition, power ups that come out of nowhere, over the top villains and the final fight is like something straight out of DBZ. There’s also an edgy sasuke archetype with a tragic backstory. How people think this is one of the best movies of 2024 is beyond me.

Sonic 3 is more or less based on Sonic Adventure 2 (SA2) the game from the early 2000's. Are you talking about Shadow? He's been around since 2001 (and first introduced in SA2). The Sonic film franchise are more like video game love letters and fanservice with easter eggs for the Sonic fans, including the memes. Most kids these days are easily caught up on Sonic lore thx to internet and internet memes, so it appealed to both kids and older millenials. Sonic as a whole and especially SA2 itself is also inspired by DBZ, Sonic and Shadow's rivalry was based on Goku and Vegeta since the original Japanese Sonic team (the original game developers) loved DBZ. The biggest influence was the Super Sonic transformation scenes. (And 7 Chaos emeralds inspired by the 7 Dragonballs.) I don't think it's the best 2024 movie of the year either (but the movies are getting popular due to listening to fan feedback.) Even back with Sonic 1 the movie, the directing team listened to fans complaints about Sonic's design and followed up with what fans wanted to see in later Sonic movies. Everyone kept saying they wanted it to be more like the games, but I didn't believe it would happen, and I was surprised that we got Shadow and Gerald Robotnik, given how very shonen anime-esque early 2000's Sonic games was, which American Sonic fans both love and love to make fun of...believe it or not, it's what they wanted to see, compared to the first movie where it started as a buddy adventure film with Sonic and a human guy. TLDR; If later Sonic movies are going to get adaptation material from the popular Sonic games, then expect a lot of corny/anime-esque moments since that's what was in those early games - and I'm guessing the movie production team are going by what Sonic fans want to see. Sonic 4 looks like it's going to borrow from Sonic CD with Metal Sonic and Amy Rose. I bet they'll reference the Sonic OVA movie too somehow (Metal Sonic sacrifices himself at the end.)

This is such a braindead video because none of what you actually clipped out from his video thumbnails contradicts the clip from his video calling out DB fans shitting on the Oda illustration. It's fine to not like the guy or think he's weird but this is such a low effort attempt at "calling him out", emphasis on quotes.
