I am not a professional singer, but I started singing in a church choir at 12. Then 2 yrs of choral music in high school. This woman is the real deal. Just beautiful! Most of today's singers are awful, sounding like there is something stuck in their throats
This song relates to me in so many ways. I escaped domestic violence from my husband a year ago. We were married for 7 years with 3 kids. After getting a divorce and then going through therapy to heal, I realized that the “love” he was trying to build was everything was to harm me and the kids. When he realized later that I had escaped one morning and left, he desperately wanted us back somehow. But things were far too broken to fix, not just our relationship, but him himself. I've listened to this song 5 times now and still can't get through it with crying. My husband attacked me in April. Choked me, lifted me up and slammed my head into the wall on the other side of the room. I think what Rosie was trying to say is that people whose physical appearance doesn't fit into societies ideal doesn't always get the recognition and exposure that they should even if they possess incredible talent. Unfortunately, there are far less talented singers who get major recognition because they fit what society deems as beautiful.

I've been a karaoke host for over 20 years. It's been my experience that singing is like playing the guitar or piano. The more you practice the better you get. It also helps if you sing with someone who can sing. They can help put you in tune and on time.

I think what Rosie was trying to say is that people whose physical appearance doesn't fit into societies ideal doesn't always get the recognition and exposure that they should even if they possess incredible talent. Unfortunately, there are far less talented singers who get major recognition because they fit what society deems as beautiful.

I've been a karaoke host for over 20 years. It's been my experience that singing is like playing the guitar or piano. The more you practice the better you get. It also helps if you sing with someone who can sing. They can help put you in tune and on time.
