As a n-scale modeler, I am so excited so see you do this! Your expertise and talent are so inspirational! I’ll be watching you and waiting for the new kits. Thank you!
I have been involved in n-scale model railroading since 1973 when I joined an n-scale club at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana campus. My current project plan involves a home railroad consisting of four modules: three that are 4 x 8 feet connected as an L and the fourth 4 x 7 feet. I enjoy your videos as a form of arm chair modeling. Thanks.
N SCALE!!! My two favorite things in the hobby so far, N Scale and JJT, finally came together for a wonderful meeting! I can't wait to see how this comes along! Thanks brother 👍🎉
Very exciting to see you and Wayman starting down a new path simultaneously. I've had to do some N scale building myself lately, looking forward to seeing you guys tackle it. 👍
I subscribed to your channel a few weeks ago and find your videos extremely helpful. Now you'll be doing N Scale and even more helpful to me! Thanks and keep up the great work.
Star wars section is going to be so cool and very unique. Jason once again you are doing absolutely fantastic layout. My life bucket list is to see it in person
Go Big and stay home to build various scale, theme layouts.. remembering perhaps 8 years ago now how you were just starting out after tearing apart your layout and building just kits & dioramas.. Congratulations Jason.. Happy Modeling indeed ☕️☕️🎶✌️☕️☕️
Jason!! Finally!! You have come over to "the Dark Side" ( as I like to tell my non N scale friends ) 😄😇. I have operated on hand throwing turnout layouts as you follow the train and you really get a sense of being an engineer. My newest under construction layout will use the same operation techniques. I am sure you remember, I have asked about N Scale kits many times and I am very interested in what you will be offering. Good Luck with this endeavor.
Jason, I am looking forward to how you do your lighting. I think Lighting really makes a difference, as you can then do "Night Operations". It will be great to follow along on the N Journey. The HO and Sci-Fi have been fun. Cheers, and stay safe, Michael
I am as well in to N scale and have been waiting for you to start on N scale . I will be watching every thing you do especially with the details on the scenery. Thanks Thanks - I will be using some of if not most of what you do. I hope you will be designing and offering kits .
@@JasonJensenTrains Thanks! I’ve learned a ton from your channel. It’s fun that you not only my will have multiple scales but multiple eras, plus the sci-fi layout/display. It really helps fight modeling fatigue when you can jump around to different things.
Not going to lie, as a N scaler, i dont watch a lot on UA-cam because i see the H.0. Details and know its just setting unrealistic hopes. So definitely looking forward to see what your experience brings to a smaller scale!
Jason, if you haven't already, please read some of Lance Mindheim's books before committing to a track plan. Specifically, How to Operate a Modern Era Switching Layout. Looking forward to watching your progress!
I'm soooooo excited that you finally joined the dark side red haired step child gauge of n scale!!!! Love your work and can not wait and please make sure you do waterfronts!!!!
This ought to be pretty interesting. A word of caution on what looks like Atlas turnouts. I had some new #6's that I bought just before the pandemic started and they proved to have frog issues. You might want to assemble some of that track in a temporary way and see how they work. Atlas may have fixed the issues. I switched to Peco and everything works really well.
Jason: why dead frog turnouts? They tell me, and 'they' are never wrong, that all the little electrons can't get through plastic, so the crossings are giant sticking points. I hasten to add I have never actually seen an electron, but I found plastic crossings crippling - and that's in HO. Probably a good idea to linish down any high spots by laying a large file (no handle) over the turnout and GENTLY moving it to and fro. Try on an old turnout first; perhaps finish with emery and give a good clean. The idea is to stop 'humping' if the crossing sits a bit high. With live crossings humping can still occur but at least current still flows through the humped wheels, even if others are now humped uselessly clear of the rails. Yes, the wiring is more complicated, but worth it; just make sure the plastic 'walls' in the insulated joiners are trimmed lower than the rail so they too don't become 'humps'. Gentle curves, gentle radii, long turnouts, flat track without 'vertical curves', plenty of peppermints.
Jason - As a current N scaler I'm super excited to see the new layout and I am looking forward to the new kits! Do you plan to do modern day versions of your HO scale businesses similar to what you've done with the HO and sci-fi layouts? It's also really cool how yours and Wayman's layouts will reference each other 👍🏾
Welcome to my world! I am saving up my train money to get your first N scale building. N scalers rejoice because you will have to make more building kits for your new one. Can't wait to see what you do. Question : Where did you get the blast furnace? Looks 3d printed very cool ! I am scratch building an electric furnace for my steel mill.
Jasen Very excited about your new N scale layout. I'm starting a N scale shelf layout and will be following (as always). I'm 76, been both a long-time model railroader and model builder; with my layouts emphasis on structures, scenery and details. Operations is a switching layout set in the 1950's. Just one question right now: what track and code? I am planning on using code 55 but have read there are operating issues. Good luck with another amazing project. Peter
I already know that the new layout is going to be amazing. Your work is top tier. Also glad you are doing modern era. Any particular road name in mind?
lol, don’t worry I’ll be going back and forth and I will be showing techniques that work for all scales. Thanks for watching Lynn, I always appreciate you! 👍
LOL! It should be called the light 💡 side because you need bright lights to work on such tiny parts. I still can’t believe how small N scale is. Thanks for watching!!!
Einstein developed a theory about space... And, boy, it was about time, too! You're living. You have mass. You occupy space. Do you know what that means? You matter.
Typical model railroader....unlike George Sellious, you aren't singularly focused on finishing your HO layout. Instead, you start another model railroad in a different scale and don't finish the one you've started already.
Actually George would spend 6 months designing and manufacturing kits and the next 6 months he would work on the layout. I will definitely finish my HO scale layout. I gave myself 10 years and I’m at 4.5 now, so I feel I’m on schedule. Thanks for watching!!!
@@JasonJensenTrains love your HO layout concept and the way it's coming along. One correction...George did ALL his work on stuff in HO and most of his later kits have found a spot on that concentrated layout. So the focus was there.
My point about George is that he got to take a break from his layout and I’m sure he was excited to get back to work on it. My N scale layout gives me a break from HO. But the focus is always model railroading in any scale.
As a n-scale modeler, I am so excited so see you do this! Your expertise and talent are so inspirational! I’ll be watching you and waiting for the new kits. Thank you!

Great job Jason! I am really looking forward to some new and innovative N Scale kits! Take Care!

Hey, Jason. Glad to see that you're doing n scale!
What brand track and switches are you using?
Thank you so much John!!! Most of my track is Peco.
