I go with your list except for 2 things: 1. Pay Purdy, when checking on last 3 years he is 100% our guy, I believe 100% in him. 2. Keep Juszczyk, he is a good blocker who supports O-Line and can also catch short to mid passes when needed. But talk to him maybe about some cut money
I like Purdy, but he's slowly starting to disappoint. I was 100% for him, but seems like his 1st 2 seasons he was better, definitely something off and the weak O-line doesn't help

On one hand, you're arguing that Purdy is playing like a top-ten quarterback, which I agree with. However, you're also expecting Purdy to play on an expired contract. I respectfully disagree with that. There is definitely a market for a top-ten quarterback, and I'm not sure we have another quarterback who could step in and perform at the same level, let alone better, than Purdy. Therefore, offering Purdy a less lucrative contract rather than expecting him to play on an expired contract would be more reasonable.

With the money saved we can upgrade with younger talent and ready to play vets.

Yes, Kittle needs to be utilized as a receiver more like Queefs use Kelce. Kittle is easily 1 of the best tight ends in the league, but doesn't get due credit because he is a beast and blocks more than he has a play call for him

The only reason the Niners are losing so bad in, comparison to previous seasons, is because of the defense and special teams coaching. For the most part offense is doing better until the red zone. I think this year is the awakening year. From some of the pictures from off season, they got a little too big for themselves.next year will be a return to form. Better O-line. Get rid of ego players. It’ll be fine.
A lot of what you say makes sense. But Purdy will NOT play on the final year of a 7th round rookie contract. You think that Purdy will play for $1 million? If you aren't sure about him getting $60 million per year for 5-6 years, I completely understand and agree. But if you think that Purdy won't hold out and then "play to not get injured" (i.e. just immediately chuck the ball out of bounds on every snap) then you're smoking something pretty strong. BA was possible to get $14 million on the final year of his contract - because he was a 1st round pick. A 7th round rookie deal ain't got $14 million on that final year. Maybe an in-the-middle option for Purdy is to offer him a 2 year deal worth $50 million total with $45m of that being a signing bonus. You can spread that cap hit out over 5 years and Purdy has an incentive to agree to that rather than risk getting only $1m in 2025. And there is that risk of a holdout for the year after where the 49ers needs to fish or cut bait. And I say this as someone who likes Purdy a lot and wants to see him get paid. But not PAID-paid. Do I think he's worth a 7 year deal at $30 million per year? Yup. Maybe $40 m. But $60m per year is TWO BA contracts. That is TWO less star-quality players that can fit under the salary cap. Is Purdy worth losing TWO stars? Nope. If you want to be worth TWO star weapons, then you need to show that you can win with two less stars on the offense. But when I see Purdy playing with no BA and with no Kittle, he isn't getting the win. When I see Purdy play with no BA and no CMC, he isn't showing he can win vs quality teams. So therefore, his salary cannot eat up TWO stars worth of salary cap. On the other hand, when he was ONLY down CMC this season (before BA got injured). Or when last season, ONE star weapon was down? Yeah. He could still win. The offense wasn't the main cause of losses in those games where he was down only one weapon. So he can hold his own with one less weapon? Then he's worth ONE weapon's salary. If Purdy is willing to take a $30 million per year deal, give him however many years he will sign for at that price. Maybe $35 million per year because the cap will keep going up and by another couple of years from now, $35 is a single weapon. But he is really pushing it for $40m. And $50 is absolutely not proven yet. But if the 49ers think that they are going to get Purdy to play for his 7th round rookie deal final year... Yeah right. That's a recipe for a starting QB doing a hold-out all through camp. You think that BA doing his hold-in caused chaos in preparing for the season? Just wait for when it's the QB doing the "hold-in." The 49ers need to get the Purdy situation DEALT with before the end of February. At least for the 2025 season. There is no way they can end up with another situation where there is a star hold-out/hold in. That has proven to be a disaster repeatedly. And to have it be the QB doing that? That won't just interfere with nailing down the timing between the QB and one weapon (BA). It would mean interfering with the timing getting nailed down between Purdy and BA, Purdy and Deebo, Purdy and CMC, Purdy and Kittle, Purdy and JJ, Purdy and Pearsall. Not to mention the timing between Purdy and whoever is the Center on snaps. And unlike BA where people could say "What is he crying about - he can get $14 million if he just plays out his deal." If the 49ers think that their fan base will look at Purdy as a cry-baby for not wanting to risk injury for a mere $1.1 m? Yeah... There's a massive difference between that $14 million final year vs a $1.1 million final year.

Playing on an expired contract is bad for 2 reasons. It’s a disrespect. Also look at BA. Lynch f**** around while the market went up. In the end paid him what he wanted which was MORE than if they would have just signed him early. Expire Purdy then 15 teams call his agent and throw out insane numbers. Then try and get a deal? You give Purdy a chance to “think it over” when you’re talking a 20m difference knowing you could have a career ending season at any point. Concussions, shoulders, knees. I can’t see how the front office continues to ignore the fact of a dominant O-Line is key. Case in point; Detroit and Green Bay. Both team’s lines have made both QB’s look like Pro Bowlers.
Absolutely right and that's why there good teams now. We don't stand a chance this year against the top teams. Until they focus and fix O and D line we will continue to struggle in the redzone, as well as holding leads. Than our horrible special teams is another story, hopefully someone makes the choice to invest in the lines. We were the better team last year overall but towards the end of season than SB Brock didn't have time to even take a few steps back or go through his options
Maybe a unpopular opinion but keeping 44 is more important then keeping Deebo. We had OL blocking issues for year but one side run blocking having Trent 44 Kittle (put 44 since never remembered how to spell his name and not looking it up every time) those 3 are huge for run blocking. Lose 1 piece and it's exposed how bad our other OL guys are as a whole. It's also way early to claim we have to let any one go of major importance. We have huge cap space to resign Purdy and our other players. Our numbers guys are genius's with restructuring. We go from most cap in the league to barely anything after restructuring players. We can rebuild in the draft may have top 12 pick too, unless all of our players magically come back healthy that are close to returning. Let's be honest as a fan base our back up QB, I seen kids playing better in college then what he did vs Packers. The DEF that won us games Bosa Ward were out and Greenlaw not back. Next year we'll look 5x better just getting our players back healthy. Some years cause of injuries it's not your year and we had to many players hurt to think we'll go far. This year be a miracle to make the playoffs. We don't have any tie breakers so far in our own div.

When it comes to quality of play and people you can lose in an effort to improve at those positions - - -I agree with your assessment. However, there may be more in play here. Hufanga- He's a UFA so no dead cap money to worry about. But I still remember how good he was. I'd rather have him as a back up than Gibson, and most back up Safeties with tread left on their tires are gonna cost you $2 million minimum, So I'm for resigning him first if you can on a prove it contract or let him price himself off the 49ers, Deebo, just doesn't look like Deebo anymore. But Chase you gotta pay the man regardless in 2025 and 26 because he carries dead cap hits of $31million and $21million respectively, plus pay for his replacement on the roster, wherever that may be. It actually costs more in 2025 to cut him than to keep him. Maybe keep him one more year and see if this is just a down year and he bounces back. Keeping him in 2025 is cheaper that shedding him. I like him as a trade candidate for a late mid-round pick. Juice-Can we get a player to replace him, who can block in pass protection from both the backfield and on the line, who can line up wide or swing out of the backfield and CATCH the ball. Plus, when he lines up wide it spreads the defense. However, minimal cap hit in 2025 of 2.2 million and $1.6million in 2026. To get his versatility, your gonna need the right player in the draft and then develop him for a year. I think you can do that, but that means keeping Juice one more year. Quality of play is not an issue for me though. Ward- - - I actually think his play HAS declined this year. Green has been a little shaky lately, but the talent and ability is there to step right in. Cuttiing Ward cost the same as keeping him 2025, $12.3 milllion and only $2.4 million in 2026. so draft a CB to play on a rookie contract and you're getting younger and get your third CB at about the same roster cost over the 2 years so you can spend it elsewhere. I totally agree with this one Chase. Javon Hargrave: He has not played anywhere near expectations. But he has huge dead cap hits in 2025 and 2026 of about $25 million and $17 million respectively. The silver lining is that his cost against the roster in dead cap $ is about $3.5 million less in 2025 than keeping him on the roster. It climbs to about 12.5 million savings cutting him in 2026. Neither of those figures includes replacement cost. I think he can be replaced on the cheap though so cut him or better yet trade him if you can. Banks has had a tough year but I thought he was at least average before that. I might do the same thing with him as I suggest with Hufunga. You can probably sign him for a modest increase and he'd still be a cheap guard on a prove it deal unless he prices himself out. McKivitz: His dead hit cost in 2025 is about $900K less than keeping him on the roster. Still there's a replacement cost so your dead cap it of $3.1 million will somewhat hinder efforts to retool the roster. I get so aggravated with him I'd be willing to chip in on his dead cap hit. Cut him. Brendl gotta go. He's just too little and he gets bullied all the time. While there are dead cap hits, they are millions less th an the cost of keeping him on the roster. You have a credible replacement on your roster in Feliciano and you can double his salary and still save money at the position. Bye bye Jake Campbell: His dead cap hit for 2025 is the same as his roster cost. Maybe you can get your other needs filled in the draft and include his replacement as a draftee. I think he has played better lately, but at most he would be a situational back up next year. Keep him, cut him I don't care. And of course looming over all these decisions is Brock Purdy's contract. I don't think he has earned a $60 million per year contract. Frankly about half the teams paying $45 million and above are about to regret it in my opinion. Tua stays healthy? Deshawn suddenly becomes a top QB again. Dak overpriced and injury prone. Trevor has regressed since college. Are you really sold on Kyler or Hurts as a top 10 QB? I'm not but their salaries say so. Plus Purdy strikes me as a guy who understands his contract effects the quality of the team and is such a competitor that he will sacrifice some to be on a winner. I'm not sure there's huge market for him at $55-60 million anyway. Now I do think he is a top 10 QB but we see him every game. If you don't sign him before the 1st game of 2025 you're taking a pretty big risk. If he proves he's top 10 you'll have to pay him $55 million + to keep him. And you might be negotiating with a disgruntled Purdy who won't care about the team dynamic anymore because he'll have massive options. Sign him this off season if possible. Either short term like 3 years so he can go back on the market quicker or long term Mahomes style, 10 years, to manage the cap hits better each year and see him become a bargain like Mahomes is now.

They don't use Juice enough as a traditional FB, he is either lining up on a wing or going in motion and running pass routes.

The only reason the Niners are losing so bad in, comparison to previous seasons, is because of the defense and special teams coaching. For the most part offense is doing better until the red zone. I think this year is the awakening year. From some of the pictures from off season, they got a little too big for themselves.next year will be a return to form. Better O-line. Get rid of ego players. A lot of what you say makes sense. But Purdy will NOT play on the final year of a 7th round rookie contract. You think that Purdy will play for $1 million? If you aren't sure about him getting $60 million per year for 5-6 years, I completely understand and agree. But if you think that Purdy won't hold out and then "play to not get injured" (i.e. just immediately chuck the ball out of bounds on every snap) then you're smoking something pretty strong. BA was possible to get $14 million on the final year of his contract - because he was a 1st round pick. A 7th round rookie deal ain't got $14 million on that final year.
Maybe an in-the-middle option for Purdy is to offer him a 2 year deal worth $50 million total with $45m of that being a signing bonus. You can spread that cap hit out over 5 years and Purdy has an incentive to agree to that rather than risk getting only $1m in 2025. And there is that risk of a holdout for the year after where the 49ers needs to fish or cut bait.
And I say this as someone who likes Purdy a lot and wants to see him get paid. But not PAID-paid. Do I think he's worth a 7 year deal at $30 million per year? Yup. Maybe $40 m. But $60m per year is TWO BA contracts. That is TWO less star-quality players that can fit under the salary cap. Is Purdy worth losing TWO stars? Nope. If you want to be worth TWO star weapons, then you need to show that you can win with two less stars on the offense. But when I see Purdy playing with no BA and with no Kittle, he isn't getting the win. When I see Purdy play with no BA and no CMC, he isn't showing he can win vs quality teams. So therefore, his salary cannot eat up TWO stars worth of salary cap. On the other hand, when he was ONLY down CMC this season (before BA got injured). Or when last season, ONE star weapon was down? Yeah. He could still win. The offense wasn't the main cause of losses in those games where he was down only one weapon. So he can hold his own with one less weapon? Then he's worth ONE weapon's salary. If Purdy is willing to take a $30 million per year deal, give him however many years he will sign for at that price. Maybe $35 million per year because the cap will keep going up and by another couple of years from now, $35 is a single weapon. But he is really pushing it for $40m. And $50 is absolutely not proven yet.
But if the 49ers think that they are going to get Purdy to play for his 7th round rookie deal final year... Yeah right. That's a recipe for a starting QB doing a hold-out all through camp. You think that BA doing his hold-in caused chaos in preparing for the season? Just wait for when it's the QB doing the "hold-in." The 49ers need to get the Purdy situation DEALT with before the end of February. At least for the 2025 season. There is no way they can end up with another situation where there is a star hold-out/hold in. That has proven to be a disaster repeatedly. And to have it be the QB doing that? That won't just interfere with nailing down the timing between the QB and one weapon (BA). It would mean interfering with the timing getting nailed down between Purdy and BA, Purdy and Deebo, Purdy and CMC, Purdy and Kittle, Purdy and JJ, Purdy and Pearsall. Not to mention the timing between Purdy and whoever is the Center on snaps.
And unlike BA where people could say "What is he crying about - he can get $14 million if he just plays out his deal." If the 49ers think that their fan base will look at Purdy as a cry-baby for not wanting to risk injury for a mere $1.1 m? Yeah... There's a massive difference between that $14 million final year vs a $1.1 million final year.

I can’t see how the front office continues to ignore the fact of a dominant O-Line is key. Case in point; Detroit and Green Bay. Both team’s lines have made both QB’s look like Pro Bowlers.
Absolutely right and that's why there good teams now. We don't stand a chance this year against the top teams. Until they focus and fix O and D line we will continue to struggle in the redzone, as well as holding leads. Than our horrible special teams is another story, hopefully someone makes the choice to invest in the lines. We were the better team last year overall but towards the end of season than SB Brock didn't have time to even take a few steps back or go through his options

Maybe a unpopular opinion but keeping 44 is more important then keeping Deebo. We had OL blocking issues for year but one side run blocking having Trent 44 Kittle (put 44 since never remembered how to spell his name and not looking it up every time) those 3 are huge for run blocking. Lose 1 piece and it's exposed how bad our other OL guys are as a whole.
It's also way early to claim we have to let any one go of major importance. We have huge cap space to resign Purdy and our other players. Our numbers guys are genius's with restructuring. We go from most cap in the league to barely anything after restructuring players.
We can rebuild in the draft may have top 12 pick too, unless all of our players magically come back healthy that are close to returning.
Let's be honest as a fan base our back up QB, I seen kids playing better in college then what he did vs Packers. The DEF that won us games Bosa Ward were out and Greenlaw not back. Next year we'll look 5x better just getting our players back healthy. Some years cause of injuries it's not your year and we had to many players hurt to think we'll go far. This year be a miracle to make the playoffs. We don't have any tie breakers so far in our own div.

Deebo, just doesn't look like Deebo anymore. But Chase you gotta pay the man regardless in 2025 and 26 because he carries dead cap hits of $31million and $21million respectively, plus pay for his replacement on the roster, wherever that may be. It actually costs more in 2025 to cut him than to keep him. Maybe keep him one more year and see if this is just a down year and he bounces back. Keeping him in 2025 is cheaper that shedding him. I like him as a trade candidate for a late mid-round pick.
Juice-Can we get a player to replace him, who can block in pass protection from both the backfield and on the line, who can line up wide or swing out of the backfield and CATCH the ball. Plus, when he lines up wide it spreads the defense. However, minimal cap hit in 2025 of 2.2 million and $1.6million in 2026. To get his versatility, your gonna need the right player in the draft and then develop him for a year. I think you can do that, but that means keeping Juice one more year. Quality of play is not an issue for me though.
Ward- - - I actually think his play HAS declined this year. Green has been a little shaky lately, but the talent and ability is there to step right in. Cuttiing Ward cost the same as keeping him 2025, $12.3 milllion and only $2.4 million in 2026. so draft a CB to play on a rookie contract and you're getting younger and get your third CB at about the same roster cost over the 2 years so you can spend it elsewhere. I totally agree with this one Chase.
Javon Hargrave: He has not played anywhere near expectations. But he has huge dead cap hits in 2025 and 2026 of about $25 million and $17 million respectively. The silver lining is that his cost against the roster in dead cap $ is about $3.5 million less in 2025 than keeping him on the roster. It climbs to about 12.5 million savings cutting him in 2026. Neither of those figures includes replacement cost. I think he can be replaced on the cheap though so cut him or better yet trade him if you can.
Banks has had a tough year but I thought he was at least average before that. I might do the same thing with him as I suggest with Hufunga. You can probably sign him for a modest increase and he'd still be a cheap guard on a prove it deal unless he prices himself out.
McKivitz: His dead hit cost in 2025 is about $900K less than keeping him on the roster. Still there's a replacement cost so your dead cap it of $3.1 million will somewhat hinder efforts to retool the roster. I get so aggravated with him I'd be willing to chip in on his dead cap hit. Cut him.

And of course looming over all these decisions is Brock Purdy's contract. I don't think he has earned a $60 million per year contract. Frankly about half the teams paying $45 million and above are about to regret it in my opinion. Tua stays healthy? Deshawn suddenly becomes a top QB again. Dak overpriced and injury prone. Trevor has regressed since college. Are you really sold on Kyler or Hurts as a top 10 QB? I'm not but their salaries say so. Plus Purdy strikes me as a guy who understands his contract effects the quality of the team and is such a competitor that he will sacrifice some to be on a winner. I'm not sure there's huge market for him at $55-60 million anyway. Now I do think he is a top 10 QB but we see him every game. If you don't sign him before the 1st game of 2025 you're taking a pretty big risk. If he proves he's top 10 you'll have to pay him $55 million + to keep him. And you might be negotiating with a disgruntled Purdy who won't care about the team dynamic anymore because he'll have massive options. Sign him this off season if possible. Either short term like 3 years so he can go back on the market quicker or long term Mahomes style, 10 years, to manage the cap hits better each year and see him become a bargain like Mahomes is now.
