I had a friend like this. She was not exactly a copy cat but she would imitate our hairstyles and act like us to fit in with our group even though we already accepted her. I did not like her because to me it felt like she did not have her own personality and I thought it made her pathetic. Just because she couldn’t be her own person. Today she is a mom and she really found herself. I am proud that she can finally be her own person and not try to be like someone else
Conformity/mirroring is a scary thing. You shouldn’t call her pathetic because she had worries about being herself. I’ve went through that before and you shouldn’t have judged her for wanting to feel accepted. You might’ve accepted her and were friends with her but sometimes people just can’t see that. I’m sorry if I didn’t get what you meant

Had a girl like that not a copy cat but actively sabotaged many of my so called "friendships" with rumours she made abot them and blamed it on me the worst was my ex-bestfriend that betrayal hurt 💔 this bi*h had the audacity to come up and say "you can have **** (ex-bestfriend) back now" the day before she left the school. There was only 5 people that believed me and it made me realise they were my true friends only in contact with 2 of them now since leaving school and they are my true friends they are my Bestfriends and I am so glad that I have them I'd rather only 2 true friends than hundreds of fake ones. The ones who stuck by you throughout the drama are the true friends keep them close because they are the best people ever.

I feel like younger generations have it the hardest with social media, but I always encountered people that “hung out” with me and said they were my friend but really just used me for academic purposes (so they didn’t have to do the homework and busy work). It’s hard because I try to see the good on everyone, but at some point you have to force yourself to be the mean girl and push those people away.

Bridget Mendler was the biggest surprise to me. It’s amazing how much she did. From the main character in Good Luck Charlie, aspiring singer at one point, then going to MIT (a popular Disney chosen high school teens in the shows go too? lol). That’s seriously amazing. Heard she was an aspiring lawyer too
I can relate to this. I had a very annoying copycat in secondary school. People don’t realise how much it effects someone and makes them exhausted. They just want to be themselves and they can’t without constantly being copied. I’m sorry but if you think about it it’s kind of like stalking. Like I had a girl who would copy my clothes and hairstyles and what I’d eat, and even what I said. Like it was annoying and no one believed me. I know she did it to annoy me, and she used to get the satisfaction of me getting annoyed and then being told off and made to be the bad guy and everyone turning on me. She was just sneaky and manipulative and gaslighted me. It’s a silent form of bullying that needs to be dealt with. It’s toxic. It’s the reason I lack confidence, and I hate myself. She made me hate myself.
You guys also remember that people just admire you and think it might be awesome because that is what you are doing but if they are doing it to bully you. You have every right to do this back

The saying "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" Is only true to some extent. Some people, like a copycat,.do so in a way that typically hurts another as they seek to replace the person they're imitating or receive the same treatment as the person out of jealousy. Of course, it's still their unconscious or conscious thought that the person is better than them or what they want to be like as they progress so they still like something about the person getting imitated, no matter if there's negative intentions being made.
Ok I love doing this but *THE COPYCATS POV*: She really looked up to Cae and she thought if she did what the popular girl did she'd be more loved. She has some trauma from her parents always saying what her sister did was correct even when it was mean. What Cae said to her really left scars and it didn't help her depression. She was at her worst but then she talked to a therapist and worked through her difficulties. She now runs a successful company and is a strong woman!
