One of the most clear and concise explications of cutting distance that I’ve seen. I’d still love an explanation on how to calculate cut yardage manually, but definitely liked and subscribed. Thanks!

This might be a little late but I’d assume you’d have to break out the good ol pathagorean theorem meaning a 5 yard high stand with a 20 yard line of sight would give you an equation like 5^2+b^2=20 which would come to 19.36. Let me know if you found an easier way to do that because I can’t do that in my head lol.

Great video and very informative. One question for Rod White, What brand of watch are you wearing? The white watch on your wrist is it GPS enabled or just a simple watch? cheers

Soooooo..... how do you do the math if you dont have angle comp range finders, or if you know the horizontal distance and height to ground? That would have been a better subject for this video than "Make sure you buy the more expensive range finder."

I’m not sure how your bow is set up but isn’t 3” difference over a two yard adjustment a lot? I would still be on the same site pin for my bow. It seems like your second point about shooting form is more important for this situation. If I’m misunderstanding plz correct

Isn’t the line of sight the distance you need to be shooting because that’s how far your arrow will travel, regardless of angle? I don’t understand how the angle compensation will help unless you’re somehow ranging targets from the bottom of the tree. Seems like the most important thing here is correct form.

So, from a previous video that I watched, the arch of the arrow comes from gravity acting upon your arrow shooting on level ground. When you’re shooting at an angle going down the gravity doesn’t act on the arrow as bad. That was how someone else explained it
