- Cancun International Airport (Spanish: Aeropuerto Internacional de Cancún) is located in Cancún, Quintana Roo, on the Caribbean coast of Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula. It is Latin America's third and Mexico's second busiest airport, after Mexico City International Airport. In 2021, Cancún airport handled 22,318,467 passengers, an 82.1% increase compared to 2020. It has two parallel operative runways that can be used simultaneously. Officially opened in 1974, the airport is operated by Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (ASUR). It is a hub for MAYAir, and a focus city for VivaAerobus and Volaris; and currently offers flights to over 20 destinations in Mexico and over 30 countries in North, Central, South America and Europe. The airport has been expanding, becoming the second busiest point of entry by air to the country after Mexico City International Airport. Terminal 2 was developed in 2014. A 76,000 m2 expansion in Terminal 3 was carried out, adding six gates and commercial areas, and it was formally opened in March 2016; Cancun, Mexico 2021. Shots were taken with GoPro Hero 9 Black 4K.
