  • More and more of the 3D-printing companies that create add-ons for Mythic Legions are doing torso pieces. While these new torsos can really add a lot to your customizing recipes, they are not always as easy to use as custom heads are. Here are some tips I have found helpful when trying to attached these custom torso pieces!

Excellent breakdown! Plastic has such a vast integrity range based on use. Super informative!!

There's an additional method that I've used with custom heads that might work with the torso which is the hot glue method. First, cover the peg (peg and waist if you're working with a torso) with some Vaseline. Then, squeeze some hot glue into the cavity of the head (or torso) but don't fill it entirely. Finally, insert the peg into the cavity and turn it left to right and all around to preserve the articulation you want ( you won't be able to turn it all around with the 2.0 bodies since it's just a straight peg). You can use an Exacto blade, or hobby knife, to trim any excess glue that may have leaked out. You create a secure neck (or torso) joint in the cavity of the part that will make it easier to pop in and out. I've never tried this with a custom torso because I don't have any, but it seems to me that the same process should work. Again, I wouldn't do this with the arms because the peg holes are too small, but I think it should work for the base of the torso and I know it works for custom heads.

Your idea is great, I have to try it. I use foam clay in a similar way.

If we ever get in stock Legion Builders in, I might consider getting some 3rd party parts, so this is good to know.

lol plumbers tape you actually wrap around threads before you put pipes together, or pipe and shower head. It will not work to wrap around a leak.

why not make them in two pieces so they can lock around joints and have a snug fit? like a model kit or something

One thing I've learned about resin printing is that it is NOWHERE near as accurate as injection molded pieces. Resin pieces have small variations from piece to piece, so a 2-part torso could cause issues because small variations in shrinkage would make the parts not line up as perfectly as intened.

I don't use facebook, I literally created an account just to join the cabal. Why does no one accept my request?
