What made this cool is that it was like being at a county fair watching a local garage band do cheap trick poorly. Having seen them at fairs back in the 70's, this really took me back.
It was 1977 ..I was 9 years old. My Mom came home from shopping with 2 of those heavy (sweaty) 70's iron on tee shirts. One was a tank top that said Cheap Trick Cheap Trick Cheap Trick on it, and the other had a big mouth with a tongue hanging out of it, and said Rolling Stones. My Mom told me to pick one and my sister would get the other. I didn't know who the Rolling Stones were..... so I took Cheap Trick
I remember buying that Robin Zander album bringing it home my kids were in elementary school, and we learned every song the first night. The favorite was walking shoes. They both loved every song. At that point in time I thought they were cheap tricked to death. My favorite since I was 10.
You would expect a band that's been around as long, and toured as extensively as they have...to be showing a serious case of wear and tear...not so. Still sounding great whether playing to 20,000 or 50. I don't know how Robin has kept the vocals in such great shape after all these years...he defies logic. Great clip, thanks for posting it.
I loved the " get rid of that chair " hahahaha was su funny... youre on a sunny sunday at some local fair expecting to see Robin with s not so bad country band and the youre actually seeing the whole CT trick playing. Had Bun E been there... infart
So wonderful to see these guys ever so friendly with each others after 40 years together ! Their common love of music is so good to know, for hundreds of bands we loved disbanded for crazy reasons and we can still see Cheap Trick live ...!! Wonder why Robin looked like Axl Rose when he started out with Ac/Dc, i.e in a chair with long hair ? Must have had some kind of back ache ... Funny how he fumbled with his earplugs, talk about no roadie !!!!
These guys are all millionaires and could have retired years ago and no one would have thought ill of them, but yet over 40 years later they are still rocking the house. I grew up with these guys in Joliet in the 70s before Budakan and they were great then, glad they are still on tour.
This was at the Pan Pacific Park in Los Angeles Ca in 2012. It was a Sunday afternoon the day before Cheap Trick played with Aerosmith at the Hollywood Bowl. I was there and it was awesome. The event advertised only that Robin Zander would appear and when the rest of Cheap Trick showed up it was a total surprise!
;0 where was this at?? ;) love this closeup vid of the great r&rhof CHEAP... TRICK!! ;0 what i love best is that tom peterson 'thrumb-thumb-thumb' right about 29:30...
I love Robin Zander.
🤘🤘🎸 🎸
i WAS WONDERING HOW HE KEEPS THAT VOICE GOING LIKE HE DOES, HES STILL STRONG.
Band backing Robin is good. But then Cheap Trick gets up there and BAM!! It's not the instruments, it's the musicians! Bravo!
I love Cheap Trick.

It's from staying away from too much alcohol and hard drugs that so many other singers lose their voice to. You can hear his healthy living :)
I know right? Robin Zander still sounds great. Love him and Cheap Trick.

I read somewhere that they do a lot of these Private Concerts. I would think it could be quite expensive!

Great band..even a wedding gig they rule..
This was at the Grove in LA? I was there. A benefit for stray dogs something like that. Fun time.

When, what was this for?
What’s the deal with the chair?
The sitting in the chair was so totally not rock and roll. It screamed OLD GEEZER!
