This recording was made at Chateau de Suze la Rousse ( France ) in 1990.Many copies were done for students and Dagar Family. It was one of the last Z.M.Dagar`s performances before he died end of september 1990. ( According to the only information I could get on internet )

This raga was composed by Late Pandit Ravi Shankarji, our beloved Guruji. Raga Ahir Lalit, composed in 1945-46, is a morning raga.

The rudra vina. One of the oldest instruments, used almost exclusively for playing dhrupad, the oldest surviving form of Indian classical music. The Dagar family have their own modifications to the instrument which renders it too heavy to play over the shoulder and forces them to play in the manner you see in the picture.
