Wow Brian, I am beyond thankful, and humbled that you would feature me on your channel. Thanks so much, and thanks to everyone who has taken the time to share your comments.
Yeah when it comes to Electronics Jamie Dull is PRO and the GOTO guy! Thanks for featuring Jamie because he doesnt get enough credit in the community for all that he gives back! Cheers to the Outer Rim and the Smugglers Room!
Great info. The Outer rim just made my project not a headache. We appreciate you and your lady. There's only one problem . You don't have a video out everyday.
This is the resource I need to finally start building something. I was always afraid I couldn’t make the electronics live up to what design is in my head. Thanks!
This is most helpful, I wasn't intending to use many LED's in my room but this definitely opens up new possibilities and has given me more to consider yet less to think about
@@TheSmugglersRoom its about time I got the ball rolling, it's over a year of just thinking about it and collecting props yet I haven't done a thing to the room yet, thinking start from the ground and work my way up is my best plan of attack, it's just choosing the right colour of vinyl to blend with whatever stone veneer I put on the walls, my own indecision is annoying me 😂
This is VERY cool. A bit on the pricey end, but I guess that's the cost of time and convenience (and the effort Jamie has put in developing these), so... bravo!
It's certainly worth it. He has four kits i think, depending on how much flexibility you need. I think you can do 5 LEDs per port on these. SO even on the smaller, less expensive kit, you can get a lot of LED functionality out of it.
Jamie is the man ! He’s helped me so much on my projects and always there if I have a question about something! I’ve got one of his led kits and his hud displays , they are sooo easy to use. And thanks Brian for sharing with all of us!
I’ve been looking to purchase his lighting kits at some point in the future for my projects. I’m not well versed in electronics so that makes things super easy for me!
Thanks bro. Apologies I didn't mention Fab Works, I didn't even realize until it was too late that you did the graphics man. Great stuff you did there bro!
I Have subbed, as a miniature model artist I am always looking obsessively at new elements, features and or just cool things to incorporate into my diorama builds and although I have used LED systems before its super cool that this is really a shortcut kit to simply connect up and have your lighting panels or displays or systems up and running. Thank you! cool stuff.
It's cool that he offers these kits. That said, I highly encourage everyone to at least dip a toe into the microcontroller/Arduino world. The barrier to entry is very low, an Arduno Uno clone can be had very cheaply and you will very quickly realize how much control you have for very little effort. The best part is you can just copy and paste and modify the basic Blink program in the Arduino app, you don't have to write anything from scratch.
Very much agreed Scott. I love tinkering with programming. It's not overly complicated and can be fun. I do like Jamie's kits though. Sometimes its nice to plug something in and BAM . . . off and running.
I’m a big fan of the channel! That was so helpful! That will definitely make life so much easier! I’m definitely going to buy one of those systems for my Halloween props that I make. Thanks for sharing
@@TheOuterRim_ I really love that you made that so easy for us! I already went to your website! I will be buying one as soon as I get back on my feet. Just lost my job so trying not to spend. I won’t forget you
Great video about a great resource! I've been learning Blender for motion graphics for myself but really have no experience with LED controllers. I'll have to take a look at The Outer Rim when I dive into LEDs for my projects. Thanks for sharing!
@@TheSmugglersRoom Ha! I totally get it, my friend. There's a bit of a learning curve, and I'm certainly no expert myself. I've been at in my spare time since late May, and there's always more to learn and understand about it. I've uploaded a few test videos and stills of my results here and elsewhere though. Anything to keep the creative juices flowing!
This is excellent, thanks for sharing! Definitely going to rekindle some projects I was hoping to tackle but the daunting task of dealing with the electronics was keeping me from doing them. Already subscribed to Jamie’s channel!
Do you have an affiliate like (or otherwise recommendation) for LED lights? If I'm going to purchase some off amazon anyway I'd love to toss a coin to you on the back end for all the great ideas and content. Thanks!
If they don't hire makers for the 2025 Star Wars film it'll be a loss for them and fans. This community is PACKED with garage geniuses that really care about the verse and have amazing talent. MTFBWY!!!
@@TheSmugglersRoom I just found your channel a day or two ago. The first video I saw was the one where you put resin in packages to make cool shapes for props (which was super cool). My concern is making props that kind of look the same. If everyone uses modded Nerf guns, all low budget scifi will have the same blasters. But, you could turn the same object (a box or screen or whatever) and turn it into different styles (Alien, Star Trek, Star Wars, whatever). Better yet, use similar materials, tools, and techniques to show that you can put in the effort to make it look more unique to a specific theme. TL;DR You should fo a video where you turn the same object into a prop from three different cinematic universes. (If you already did this, I'd love to watch the video.)

Sorry about that, LOL. I would love to be able to do that. Or at least three times a week. Some day maybe!
I got to see these in person at the PNW meet up. Jamie is super passionate in helping others. Thanks Brian for leveling him up!
