Chemo brain/fog is a very REAL issue that is FINALLY getting more recognition. Unfortunately it has required younger cancer patients/survivors to get docs to listen (although there are still those that refuse to acknowledge it). When cancer was still considered an elderly disease the symptoms (which can be temporary or permanent brain damage) were blamed on age.
I've battled the perma brain damage from chemo as a teen (2001l & then again as an adult ( 2013) when we tried the chemo again (I'm on immunotherapy now). I am very impressed with how well she has done, through this ordeal as well as her entire journey through cancer life.

While everyone is focused on a disgusting action of the past, I see a changed person who regrets her actions and a victim who seems bitter and unforgiving. The irony of all this is that Debra in the end became humbled through her experience and became the better person. Not every one can just change but when God gets involved, that's when transformations take place and I believe that's what happened with Debra.

Did you listen to the letter of apology she wrote without being told to? People who write letters of apology that are not prompted to, tend to be people that have a change of heart. People who do not follow Christ tend to be people who cannot forgive or accept forgiveness from someone who has wronged them. Holding onto bitterness and hatred is only damaging to yourself. Could the letter be insincere? Sure! But based on the early witnesses, everything she and her family have gone through (the consequences one gets and deserves for doing wrong acts) what reason would you have to think she is not remorseful?
Everyone in the comment section seems to be so full of hatred towards someone they don't know and think its justified to judge someone on an action they did in the past and not on what they have become out of that. I hear you, but I have another take on it, if I may share. That's not meant as a literalism, unless it really is the policy in one business or another. This story is not the same, and that person should be been escorted out. But as a rule, if I'm the employee representing someone else's store, my demeanor with a customer may mean return business or, not only the loss of that customer, but potentially anyone that customer informs by "word of mouth." At one time, the average number was considered to be about seven other people. That was before the days of the internet. Now, it's about making a video that goes viral, and a business can be forced to shutter overnight if there's enough pressure from the masses. It's not that the customer is always right. Of course that can't be the case. It's that the ability to handle a difficult customer diplomatically is paramount to the survival of the store. So, that attitude really can't change. it's not the customer who is ultimately being protected, but the store.
There's a lot more to it than that, but if I'm representing a store owner, I'm entrusted with the money I handle today, as well as the money my attitude might help bring in tomorrow. I don't mind taking a little heat, but there's a point past which it's utterly absurd. You shouldn't have to be abused on the job or anywhere.
Generally speaking though, diplomacy is the ability to tell someone to go to hell in such a way that they look forward to the trip.

I was vaccinated against it 40 years ago as a small child but I'm no longer considered to be immune due to my severely compromised immune system and cannot have a booster because the vaccine contains a live virus. @GodisLove: “She was sick and shopping” - what is wrong with you? The lady has 10 children, it’s more than understandable that she needs to shop for her family, hunt for bargains, etc.
How callous you need to be to take the side of the perpetrator only because she was filmed? And blame the victim, only because she was ill?
And even if she had written down her statement, and was using it (especially in the later part of the hearing), what’s wrong with it?! It’s her RIGHT to prepare herself!
From the first part of the hearing we have an ample evidence that she is highly intelligent, well spoken, polite, thoughtful and compassionate even to the defendant’s children in that situation. And brave, considering her personal situation at that point.

Yes, the woman was acting horribly to the store staff, I also have seen people do that. Yet I *never* would have placed myself in front of an enraged person - much less, if I was weakened and battling a cancerous disease! To be honest, she's lucky she just got a _"cough."_ She is not a hero....she endangered herself and chose to enter into a enraged situation for NO good reason. Her unnecessary actions could have possibly caused great injury/death to her own sick body, *and HARM to the ten children who depend on their Mother to be healthy.* Not a wise decision. You've heard of *pouring gasoline on the fire* "To do or say something to make a bad situation worse; to further _incense an already angry person."_ And then to further that bad situation, when the woman angrily approached her, she didn't even turn her head or body away, but LET HER COUGH IN HER FACE, "close enough to feel the spittle."
