For Zach, Black Whisker gets you max PATK now with no need for sub weapons. You can max regular boost atk and boost physical ability now with some room left over for hp or element.
The only thing that realy sucks is that 60-70% of element weapons tend to have PATK as well. I was tempted, but i think Im going to wait and do his new ceremonial sword for his pATK up & physical potency. as thats a better neutral weapon than black whisker. Whisker is a no brainer for water stuff though. Still a solid weapon
@@TheNixBestThing yeah same. I didn’t up mine yet but still worth emphasizing that it was one of those weapons stuck at 54 points before and can give full patk 7 now. Definitely the best sub for maritime Cloud too by a mile
absolutely! If you score good atk/element, or phys potency up/element, then that would be a perfect main hand to get your Phys out of the way, even as a sub, it'll get you literally half way there. @@kamer7687
I sat there humming and hawing about whether or not i should upgrade it right now xD eventually, yes. But noooooot yet. I wish we had a good atk wep for him too with a good 2nd sub ability. Wish Zwei had something different than elem resist.
@@kamer7687 Oh shoot... I didn't even CONSIDER it being used a sub for others rofl. Would be good for Glenn too now. Im so Zack selfish, its about whats good for him, not the others kek kek kek.

At the moment I have upgraded both Cloud and Glenn's new weapons to lv110 because they are also excellent as subs and I will use them in any team, so it was a long-term investment

Still waiting on the second banner to make any decision but I have glenn's new weapon at OB6 so this one goes to level 100 instantly lol.
Once we know the second banner I'll decide wich one goes to 120

Used mines on yuffie's first star weapon. Im at ob9 and that little boost i got just helps push her buff extension r ability to the last level. All is good now 🥲 going for utlity with these level 120 weapon
I'm only doing 2 weapons to level 120 for now everything else is staying level 90. Guide Gloves and Heavy Hauser. I'm doing HH because it is my highest OB rated weapon at OB10+2 and is always a must have on my main DPS. I'm debating on Mad Minute I haven't looked at the R abilities cap at 120.
But I might take a couple main weapons to level 100 like Murasame, Edged Wings, and maaaaybe Fairy Tale.
What does OB stand for

Im focusing Motor Drive, Holy Flame, Guide, Amarant Claws, Murasame, Skysplitter, Sun Umbrella, Edge Wings and Matts Hornet. Along with new weapons. Other than that Barrets two sub weapons are very good choices and mad minute.
Another 2 sub weapons in which might be an option that are amazing together would be both Aeriths Silver Staff & Clouds Enhance Sword for Sephiroth. They both have high MAG stats and share:
Boost ATK: +46 pts
Boost Ice Pot: +39 pts
I run them with Yuffies Pinwheel because it has HP & Ice Pot.
I’m eyeing Murasame for cloud since 110 OB10 Murasame plus my 80 OB9 crystal gloves will get me to level 7 boost lightning potency with just those 2 weapons. Pushing crystal gloves to 90 would’ve left me 1 point shy of the next r ability so I never wasted the mythril on it. Only problem is there isn’t a lot of content demanding lightning element right now, so I might hold off on making that upgrade for now.
honestly i would hold off on murasame for now in case seph or zack get a lightning arcanum
Yeah this a good guideline. For me, I would only upgrade as needed basis.
I don't recommend viewing upgrades as 120 or nothing... it makes more sense to break these into two categories, ones to level to 120 (primary hand weapons with perfect R abilities that can be used as subs in a pinch), and ones that we should take to 110 (functional choices where specific units can get boosted R ability levels in key places). the 110->120 mythril is too rare to be just throwing on stuff that is going to sit in the back line, especially since all of the R ability value comes from 90->110.

Hey man! Welcome to the game. In regards to speed powering and buying packs I don't USUALLY recommend them BUT if you really want to then focus on anything that gives you 5* ticket vouchers and mythril ore/weapon enhancement. You will also need character fragments for the stat stream. It takes 20 total dupes to Max dupe (pink stars) BUT you then can push to +20 on that (NOT RECOMMENDED as it is a mere +2 stats only after).

Np! Definitely check out the most recent beginners guide (it was when steam version came out) and is still very up to date
@@iandc730 1 original + 1 copy makes the weapon good, +6 is usually where it shines and OB10 is for whales.
Would go for anything that gives 48 to 54 R abilities.
This then gives you enough leeway to choose low OB/level weapons to get level 7 R abilities.
I wait for Seph and Zack banner with upragding to 120lvl as they are my main DD, and those weapons can be new meta
IDKW they didn't give us a level 100 and 110 preview of the weapons when looking at their stat page. It just jumps from 90 to 120.
Also kind of disappointed that none of the weapons get an actual C. ability damage increase. Sure the base stats go up and the R. Abilities as well, but seriously no increase to C. abilities??
Haha ya they saving the c abilities for power creep weapons later in the future
I am just focusing on 110 because 110 have the best break points i.e ele potency and phy/magic potency.

The way things are going, I wouldn't be surprised if the game started to get a new cap on R. Abilities and we are sleeping on that potential change.

Addendum: for F2P this weapons can now offer 3 stacks at just gold. So, with this new level up, if you level up to 120 both of them, as F2P you are set for sub weapon with just one copy each. So DEFINITELY pull for them to get at least a single copy of each and get to 120, the power difference it offers to any physical team is huge.
As for next weapons, the best ones are 54 weapons that now, as main, they can alone go above 55 so max out the stat. So Snowflake, Black Whisker, etc…
For whales: 23 + 27 + 5 = 55. So, if a main weapon that is 40 becomes 46 then paired with a 54 weapon, if BOTH on sub slot, with an arcanum it takes you to exactly 55. This means that combos such as: Zidane’s Sword 120 + Bald Eagle 90 + Ice Arcanum gear get you to exactly 55 with the new Ice sword being in the main slot offering 6 stacks if maxed out.
As F2P I only have 1 copy each - is it worthwhile still to level it up to 120?
@@azurelleb yes. 100%. They will yield the biggest possible difference to your account, even if all of them are purely stat sticks, let alone if equipped as main hand to their respective characters.
As stat sticks, you spread them around, never 2 on the same character that provide the same party bonus. This will give you the biggest boost.
120 will ensure 3 stacks, which is practically what we aim for them as stat sticks.
On top of that, the passive stat boost at 120 is tremendous, as each level above 80 gives a huge boost to the raw stats of the weapon.
@@edwardsgamingcorner3880 thank you! I am a new player and F2P and managed to grab one base copy of each of the four limited anni weapons but wasn’t sure if I should level them up. I will probably level them up after the first anni banners. Myrils are hard to come by!
@@azurelleb Now you also have Vincent to the mix with his party mag weapon, so same principle applies.
I coach a friend who also has a F2P account and those weapons made the biggest impact on his account for all content he could not previously clear.
@@edwardsgamingcorner3880 I don’t have Vincent’s weapon but that’s okay. I probably should have just tried OB3 one of the limited weapons but didn’t know what I was doing, so I will have to settle with this for now. It’s good to know that it’s not a complete waste!

How to get. Mythril ingots? Currently it's very limited and difficult to get
as of right now only through the daily premium quest and buying it in the shop. also theres a free 10 ingots in the new event shop
so many "first"
